Find Ancestors

Hi
I am trying to find the parents of Elizabeth White born to Rebecca about 1838. On the 1851 census she is living with William White whose spouse was Rebecca, although she is not down on the census. Elizabeth is down as 'stepdaughter'
Any help appreciated

When you view the image Rebecca is the wife of George Ludham not William White.

Thanks Christine in Portugal, I realise Rebecca is George's wife but it also states that William spouse was also called Rebecca.

It's been mistranscribed wrong. William White is unmarried.

George Ludlam could have married Rebecca White but she would have been very young when Elizabeth was born if she is her mother.

I'll try to find George and Rebecca in 1861.

I can't find George and Rebecca in 1861 but there are deaths in Belper district in both names and their children appear to be with different family members in 1861.

I could not find them in 1861. I have a possible death for Rebekah of JAS 1851 and George JFM 1852, their son William is living with William White and his brother Joseph White and Sarah and Ann Ludlam living with grandparents William and Sophia. No mention of Elizabeth White at either.

Not sure if I'm getting this round my neck but just looked on 1861 for Elizabeth White - there's one on there - parents William and Rebecca Hill but the surname on Elizabeth is given as White but alternate name HIll.

Will have to delve and see if there's any connection with the Hill's and the White's I think!!

I have got it round my neck - just looked on 1851 and Elizabeth White is with parents William and Rebecca so it can't be the one I'm looking for as she is on 1851 as stepdaughter!

Never mind - will keep looking and hopefully solve it!
