Trying to find white

Royston Report 17 Sep 2005 23:13

I am researching the Hoddinott / WHITE family, and would be very interested to hear from anyone else who is doing the same. I’m particularly focused on my maternal Gt.Grandparents; Richard Hoddinott b.1825 and Charlotte WHITE b.abt.1833, both from Frome, Somerset. In the 1881 Census for Frome, the children of RICHARD HODDINOTT and CHARLOTTE WHITE are all given the name of the mother - WHITE. I WISH TO ESTABLISH CONTACT WITH ANYONE WHO IS A DESCENDANT, HOWEVER REMOTE, OF ANY OF THOSE PERSONS LISTED BELOW - DURING THE COURSE OF THEIR LIVES, THEY MAY HAVE ADOPTED THE NAME 'HODDINOTT' OR 'WHITE-HODDINOTT', AS viii FRANK WHITE, APPEARS TO HAVE DONE:- i. ANNIE WHITE, b. Abt. 1859, Frome, Somerset. ii. EMILY WHITE, b. Abt. 1862, Frome, Somerset; d. September 15, 1944, 14 Nettleton Road, New Cross, London; m. RICHARD GEORGE GANDER, September 2, 1894, All Saints Parish Church, Hatcham in the County of London; b. Abt. 1864; d. April 21, 1935. iii. RICHARD WHITE, b. Abt. 1864, Frome, Somerset. iv. ELIZA WHITE, b. Abt. 1867, Frome, Somerset. v. JAMES WHITE, b. Abt. 1870, Frome, Somerset. vi. EDWARD WHITE, b. Abt. 1872, Frome, Somerset. vii. ROSA WHITE, b. 1875, Frome, Somerset; d. September 3, 1961, Clevedon Hospital, Clevedon, Somerset; m. RICHARD LIFELY; b. November 9, 1863, Alfred Street, Westbury, Wiltshire; d. October 23, 1950, Fermoy, Hallswell Estate, Clevedon, Somerset. viii.FRANK WHITE, b. Abt. 1878, Frome, Somerset; FRANK later enlisted in the Army as Frank HODDINOTT, and was killed in action on November 2, 1914, The Ypres Salient, Belgium. Many thanks. Roy
