Hello - I am trying to find any relation of HORACE LESLIE WHITE (my maternal grandfather) who lived on Huntingdon Road in Cambridge (Cambridge 31/5/1902 Died -C1962). His parents were Walter White (Chesterton, Cambridgeshire 1871) and Naomi Nightingale (Oakington, Cambridgeshire C1871). He had two sisters - Mabel (1899 Cambridge) and EDITH (1900 Cambridge). Edith married Vernon Wakefield and had Rita and Keith. They lived in Histon when Vernon worked for Chivers. He & Edith then moved to Cambridge to run a B&B on Chesterton Road over looking Jesus Green. Mabel married Sid Arnold and they had Mary (C1927). Mary had a son and she lived in Great Shelford, Cambs. She died around 40 years ago. Horace married Alice Nicholls in around 1932 and they had a daughter (my mother) Joan who was born in 1933 in Cambridge. After getting divorced in the very late 1940s/early 1950s, Horace married Phyllis Webb. Horace also had a couple of aunts (I guess they'd be born mid-late 1800s) one called Mabel and one called Martha. Also two others whose names my mother can't remember). I'm trying to track down relatives of my mother's as she lost touch after her parent's divorce when she was only 16. If by some chance you have any information/details/contacts, I can be reached through Genes Reunited. Thanks! Nicola Musgrave |
