Hi, Can anyone assist with marriage details of Rebecca & William Whittaker (I think she was called Cooper before). She is on the 1901 census as married & on 1911 census with him and their 2 daughters. Want to establish Rebecca's father who I think was called John Cooper which I hope will say on the marriage cert. Any help greatly appreciated........

Sam (Daughter of James)

Just to clarify - was that the 1901 & 1911 Irish census?

Doh, my fault, sorry - Dublin City. In 1911 Mabbott Street and I suspect they married at Pro Catherdral as all other near relatives did around this time....

Thanks

William is shown as a refreshment room keeper but I can't find him on the 1901 census but it shows Rebecca as being married at this time.

Can't find a matching one for William Whittaker though!

Perhaps you should get a birth certificate of one of their children to establish Rebecca's maiden name. You never know, her father might have died young...... and her mother married again and Rebecca could have half sisters.

Birth Reg of daughter Rebecca......

None for Mary E Whittaker but a couple for 'Female' Whittaker in 1902 Dublin North.

Hope this helps.
