Am seeking information on Minnie Whittaker, born 1898 in Manchester. She had a brother, Thomas, born 1895. They were born Rowland, but the name was changed by deed poll when their parents divorced. Their mother was Mary Ellen Whittaker, born abt 1880. Her mother was Margaret, nee Jenkins, born abt 1846 - both women born in Salford, Lancashire. I have the 1901 Census information which lists the address as Gorton Lane, Manchester. Mary Ellen remarried a Joseph Gray who already had 4 children, and she and Joseph had another 5 children. I have hit a stumbling block with the research. The last address I have for Thomas was in Manchester in 1953. There's a whole lot of us in Australia and we would love information / links to information to help out the research. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Regards, Jennifer |
