Trying to find information on the Whittaker family from the Cross Heath area of Newcastle-Under-Lyme. Esther Ann Whittaker was born about 1870, married Harry Vernon and had 4 daughters. Her father was George Whittaker who was married to an Ann Tilstone. I remember some distant relatives who were still living in Newcastle-Under-Lyme in 1984/5 one was called Lottie and used to work for Doultons. Apparently another member of the Whittaker family worked for Wedgwood and was either the only person, or one of the only people who could hand throw an oval plate???!!! if any of this makes any sense to anyone please contact me. |
