His name is Richard Thomas Whittam .He was born in c1870, married in 1898 and left the family home some time after 1908. It seems that he may have left on occasions before then but this was the final time. It is said that he left Burnley which was his home town and went to live in Bury I have a few more details re Richard Thomas Whittam. I now believe that he was born in Newchurch in Rossendale c1870. His father was Thomas Whittam b1847 m Elizabeth? c 1866. I think that she was born in Horwich c1848
