Wiggs - from the Saxon name Wig, meaning someone who is associated with war, warrior etc. Twigg(s) someone who lived on land belonging to Wig.Wiggs someone of the family of Wig. Also repeated in town names: e.g. Wigan from a terrible battle fought nearby. There was a Saxon tribe called the Wig in North Norfolk. Philip Wiggs. |
