Trying to trace descendants of James John McKinlay Wilkie, born in Scotland in 1841 and later moved to 'Rothesay', 54 Westwood Road, Southampton, and his wife, Mary Kate Bowyer (born 1850, Woolston, Southampton). (The house in Westwood Road was demolished about 12 years ago.) John was the son of James Wilkie, who owned a shipping line on the Isle of Bute, and his wife Susannah McKinlay. James and Mary had a number of children including James Bowyer Wilkie (born 1867, Langley, near Southampton, married Mabel Kendall), Thomas McKinlay Wilkie (born 1869, Langley), Marguerite Wilkie, (born 1869, Langley, married R Cox), Allan Wilkie (born 1873, Liverpool, married F Hunter Watts) and Esther Isabel Wilkie (born 1875, Liverpool, married Henry Bennett, moved to Tarrant Gunville, Dorset). As the family was in the shipping business, it explains their move to Southampton and temporary residence in Liverpool.
