Do you have William's occupation? There is a very strangely organised Ancestry entry which seems to be a military one. This William Rose is a private. Though Edward has matched as father this is not relevant to the entry.: |

Trawling the 1881 census - there are a couple of Williams living with grandparents, one as nephew, one as son of an Edward, Engineer and one the son of aa Edward, general dealer but no Edwards that are Carpenters!! |
