Do you have a marriage found one 1898 Southhampton, propbably to an Eliza Blake as in 1901 he is with Eliza and an Ernest R Blake. They are in Southhampton is occuptaion is something Steward and the word sea is next to. 1911 16 Northbrook road southhampton occupation steward shore. Hope this is of help.

I think he served aboard ship but wasn't a sailor, looking at 1891.

I think he was my great grandmother's father but did not marry my great great grandmother as I cannot find any record anywhere. However I would love to find out more about his life.
I already have all the certificates you mention, I know his father was also an Anthony Kersley and his mother was Elisa O'Shea from Cork. If he had brothers or indeed children I might be able to continue.

If you get his death certificate or maybe you have that already it will show the name of the informant and that I would suggest is your next lead.

I am going to Kew tomorrow. I will check out the merchant navy microfiche for him. He may not be there but worth a quick look.
