Trying to find Yerbury

I am interested in any Yerbury's who may be out there. It is my wife's maiden name and seems to be very uncommon. They were clothiers who settled in the west country, especially prominent around the Bradford-on-Avon area. At one time, up until early 20th century, they owned Belcombe Court, a fine Palladian country house, just outside Bradford-on-Avon.

I hope this is not to old to reply to.
I'm Craig and I have the Yerbury family you are after.
John Yerbury 1678-1728 was a Baker who became a Clothier and purchased an acre of land in 1722 from Samuel Davidson. John's son Francis built Belcombe Court on the acre of land purchased by his father. He commissioned John Wood the Elder (who was responsible for a number of notable buildings in and around Bath) to design and build the house near Bradford on Avon in 1734.

Carolyn the first post here was dated 2003, that person certainly never saw the 2008 reply and it is not likely either person will see your message.

To do a search of your own, start a thread about it, is the best idea.

When you do it is also wise to read the instructions for posting since your message is not clear, are you looking for living family of that person or for information about his ancestors ..................

the Australian white pages have 49 listings for the name Yerbury

http://www.whitepages.com.au/resSearch.do?subscriberName=yerbury&givenName=&location=

edit I checked and Ian did not seem to have any brothers or sisters.

this is his mother's death in Australia

YERBURY Barbara Catherine
Death notice 28APR2008
Death 87 at Stirling Hospital, late of Aldgate
Adelaide Advertiser 30APR2008

http://www.ryersonindex.org/

and her death notice could give information about family members.

The nice part is that I do see the Yerbury family going to Aus in 1950 (Dad is Cecil and Mum is Barb*).

Bad part...

I've sent Carolyn a personal message assuming she would not return to read it.

the passenger record and the parents' marriage record is why I posted the death notice for Barbara Catherine Yerbury.
