So you are on the FIZZ already Jane. Naughty but nice. !!!

While Ros was out I rang my sister. She's not in a good place at the moment. (her self) Doing all the exercises she has to do after her stroke, but still nothing seems to work. She is very depressed and I had to go through a crying session with her. She is such a lonely person, even though her sons call to see her and Paul, her youngest, and lives round the corner, cooks and checks on her all the time. There is very little I can do to help. I call her two/three times a week, which I know she looks forward too, and enjoys our little chats.

Val (Sids wife) rang to see if we were going to the Village hall tonight. Roa has rung her back to say SHE will go down to keep her company and see the girls, while I will be quite happy to be at home without a BLARING DISCO. They have laid on loads of food of various types and at only A FIVER A HEAD. It's no money Thinking of it I might even pop to the pub and see the lads for an hour. Ros can drop me off, and I can walk back, if I remember my touch. !!! Otherwise she will come and pick me up.

What you got for dinner tonight then Jane, ?? A nice joint of BEEF would go down a treat after all this Turkey. LOL Hope the family enjoy whatever you do. Are they staying the night and seeing in the New Year. ??

Afternoon all,

It's brightened up here now ,we've had a wet morning ,the wind seems to have got up but it's still very mild.

Good to see your home all safe and sound Frank and you had a good nights sleep too ,nothing like your own bed is there ,enjoy your lunch .

Sorry to hear you've had a bed night with all the coughing Anne hope you soon feel better ,so little Ruby has had her op ,she'll soon be full of beans again it's surprising how quickly they get over things .

We've had family here this morning and they will be here for lunch tomorrow ,no roast ,so i've decided to do a Chicken Casserole and a Sausage Casserole with nice mash and plenty of veg then they can take their pick .
Colin wants beans on toast tonight ,we've had so much rich food it will make a nice change and it's nice and easy .

Frank I am sorry that your Sister is still not in a good place. She has had a rough time since her stroke. But it is good she has her Sons there to help and to have you to talk to.Just having you there on the end of the phone a few times a week will do her the world of good .

Well Hannah and Gareth have just gone to the New Years Eve do . They were supposed to have had a lift but that changed for some reason and we cant take them as we have had a drink .So Hannah is driving Gareths car and leaving it at the pub tonight. Good morning to all my pals on here,

Well like Jane said I don't know where 2017 went either, no sooner was it here and now its gone!! Time seems to pass quicker as I get older. Is it just me or do any of you feel the same?

Today we have sunshine out the back and grey and white clouds out the front in blue sky. Its been raining earlier and quite windy here too.

I have a small boneless leg of lamb for tonights dinner and shall do roast veg with it and sprouts.

Frank its nice your sister has her family near her and hears from you during the week too. She may not remember that her sons call in or that you have rung her after having the stroke that could be why she is so lonely. Shame she dos'nt have a pc or she could join us.

Afternoon all

<3 <3 <3 HAPPY NEW YEAR, HOPE 2018 IS KIND TO EVERYONE <3 <3 <3

Sorry to hear you're not well Frank. I hope you haven't got the bug James and I had.
Drink plenty and keep warm. Better luck later posting again.

Thanks everyone for your kind words, they mean so much to me and thanks AnninGlos for the advice on my back. It's eased quite a bit since I hurt it, so hopefully it won't be long before it's better.

Yes, you're right Mel, 2017 went by in a flash. Time never went by this quick when I was younger and the school years seemed to drag on and on.

We had quite a few fireworks going off here last night and wasn't the full moon bright? It was so bright we had shadows on our grass from the pot plants.

I've woken up with a headache so I'm going to have a break from the computer for a bit.
I wouldn't mind but I didn't even have a drink last night ;-)

See you all later...hopefully.

Frank Report 1 Jan 2018 12:53

I know what you mean Gill. I am curled up in a big Fleece, with a pillow behind my head. I have been drinking plenty of water, and still feeling like a load of what you know what.

We are watching Uranatans(sp) at SEPILOK. Where we went on our world tour, thanks to Conrad and Jan

Ros has done the vegetables for dinner tonight. I got out a nice piece of Pork. But there is no way I will be eating !!.

Horrible drizzle here today. Hardly a car moving in the close.

Well I am going to get my head down for a rest. I feel TERRIBLE and think the TOILET may be calling me.

Enjoy your day Everyone. xxx

We still have blue sky here with white and grey clouds which are moving quickly across the sky in the wind.

O Frank now we have another one done with the bug. I thought after James, Gill and Anne that was the three but it seems I was wrong.

I have the washing up to do and then get the dinner ready and I am dying to get back to my craft.

Oh has just come out and told me there is a chicken out and her names Freda!! I shall have to go and get her back in. Another job for me to do. The chicken run is soooooooo muddy I keep getting stuck and losing my balance when my foot goes down a mole run.

Afternoon and

A HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my friends! Lets hope we all have a good 2018. <3 <3

Gill, I meant to photograph the moon last night. I think it was a super moon so would be brighter as you said. There were lots of fireworks going off here at midnight but they only lasted 3/4 of an hour which is far better than it used to be a few years ago. I hope your back is soon better. My side is much better but I still have to be careful getting in bed and into the car. At least my knee is ok now. It seems as soon as one thing mends another thing happens!

OH is still coughing Anne but his is getting less each day now so I hope yours will be doing the same soon. It wears you out after a while doesn't it.

Your poor sister Frank. It's nice you keep phoning to see how she is though, it must mean such a lot to her to be able to say how she feels. I wonder if there is a befriending service near her where people visit lonely folk. Sorry to hear you have the lurgy now. I hope you are over the worst and thank you for your lovely e card. What a nice thing for Conrad to have said to you, it brought a little tear to my eye too. I can't remember ever being hugged or kissed by my parents, except when my mum did it once when I was going away on a school trip and my friend's mum was kissing her daughter.

I weighed myself this morning and have put 3 pounds on over the last week so now we've enjoyed our lunch and Xmas pud it's back to more salads and exercise tomorrow! :-S

I've made a mistake with Ted's jumper so need to undo a few rows of the neck! No wonder I was struggling to knit a circle with 4 needles, I should only have sewn one shoulder up at this stage.

There is a new thriller series starting tonight about the Mafia. OH says the write ups are good saying it is as good as The Night Manager was so we'll be watching or recording it.

Annx

Annx Report 1 Jan 2018 15:37

Mel, OH helped me with our dinner and did the veg yesterday and washed up and stacked the dishwasher, took stuff out to the bin, boiled kettles etc. After our lunch, which was really nice, he said, 'it's a lot of work isn't it, you wouldn't want to be doing it every day like some, you wouldn't be able to get much else done or concentrate on anything else you wanted to do'. I had to agree with him and it's good for them to see what work is involved in preparing nice meals. Like you I was itching to start something else today........a painting I think!

Forgot to say that while I was cleaning my teeth yesterday, the little boat scene I made with fused glass tumbled off the top of the corner bathroom cabinet and smashed to smithereens in the washbasin underneath and all over the floor. Bits were all jammed in the plughole, but the cordless Dyson was brilliant and sucked them all out!

Nice to see you pop in AnninG........I still keep an eye on the blog! Happy New Year to you! <3

Still got a mouth like a "PARROT'S CAGE BOTTOM I have drunk so much water, that I am in and out the toilet like a Fidler's elbow.

Ros got me a cream of mushroom soup at lunchtime. That will be enough for me today. She has put the joint in the fridge, so hopefully I might fancy it tomorrow.

We have been watching DANCING WITH WOLVES. Good film, but I don't rate it as *****.

We will catch the Mafia programme this evening.

For some reason I can't get my printer to print. So annoying, as I need something printing, to return an item to Ebay.

Your OH doesn't know he's born Ann. As you all know I do all the cooking preparation and cooking. The one day Ros does it, I won't be eating.

Off for more water, and back to my armchair and pillows.

Afternoon All
This bug is really doing the rounds isnt it. Now you have it Frank !. Hope the sickness has stopped now. You will need all that water to rehydrate .At least you got home before the sickness
James is home and still looks washed out. They didnt go anywhere last night as he just didnt feel up to it. H&G enjoyed their night out.Gareth was hanging this morning ! They have gone now and Hannah id driving.

That moon was quite something last night but it had Thomas behaving like a loony. I had to let him out before 5am as he was scratching at the doors, running up and down the stairs and miaowing at me beside the bed.
I paid him back this afternoon and did his flea treatment :-D. He shot out the back door and will probably be gone for hours now.

It is going to have to Ham and Eggs again tonight.I forgot there was a big ready to eat Ham at the back of the fridge !!! We will just have veg and no chips or potato. James is having the Southern Fried Chicken Breast that needs cooking. I am sick of food :-S
H&G went back with a big bag of stuff :-D

I dont think we will be up late tonight.I cant stop yawning this afternoon . I sat and finished my book on the kindle .I now need to start a new 'real' book I had for Xmas. Paul O'Grady Country Life. It looks good.Gareth gave me that one.

His mother and first wife didn't let him even make a tea or coffee for himself Frank so I don't think he knew what went on in a kitchen other than cooked meals appearing. Then he had his own house for a few years and had to learn how to do some basic cooking, washing and ironing, cleaning etc. You were very good to take over the cooking and preparation and contribute that way to help Ros. It's no mean task and not many men would want or be capable of doing it day in, day out. Yes, you stay put and keep sipping water and resting on your pillows!!

Thats a lovely snowy picture Ann is it one of yours from recently?

I have had a good clear up inthe kitchen as oh fitted one of the new spotlights in our dark and dingy corner by the kettle. When I looked at the things that had congregated there most of it went in the recycling bin where can't be bothered to open the door and go out in the cold. We have eaten up the biscuits Em's mum and dad gave us from Christmas and the tins in the bin too. It was a funny shape one with Foxes bicies in it.

Washed up all the containers for cake pies and sausage rolls so they can go back in the uti room. Still got the decs up though and it Donkey Day tomorrow so they won't come down then either.

Can someone foward me the ecard as I did'nt get it. I did get an email from Frank about it but no card to watch. :-(

<3 <3 <3.HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE <3 <3 <3.

Feeling a little better today but by no means 100%.
I cooked a roast lamb dinner yesterday but kept feeling faint so Paul & Richard had to dish up but I didn't want anything and afterwards everything went in the dishwasher. Ann, unfortunately my sons never got involved in cooking although Mark & Paul have to cook for themselves now. Peter was a better cook than me when we first married coming from a large family they all had to do their bit because their Mum worked. My mother didn't require or need any help, the kitchen was her domain but she never worked all her married life but we were fed very well, she was also very house proud, once Peter retired and I still worked he did everything he loved being a house husband and because I enjoyed my job so much it suited us both until he got ill of course and I took over the domestic duties again as well as being a full time carer He never helped when we both worked because his job was more active than mine.

Hope all these nasty bugs and aches and pains soon leaves us all and every one has a healthy 2018,
