Evening all,

Much better day here we even had a little sun after a very foggy start .

Mel that was good of you offering any bits ,i'll bear that in mind when it comes to making the little ones their costumes thank you.
So the clear out has begun, that's very handy having the window to throw things out ,have you found any treasure yet ? there's usually some thing that turns up that hasn't seen the light of day for a while .

Frank hope the meal was nice ,you like having little JJ don't you , and one night of Biggles is enough is it .
What a shame Harvey hates flying it would have been nice to all get together in the summer .

I got some windows cleaned today ,not outside just the inside ones ,also had a good dust round and a good hoover through .

I've had a tune in my head all day as i had a fudge sweet out of the christmas chocolates it was A finger of fudge is just enough to give the kids a treat ,a finger of fudge is ?????? but i carn't remember the rest .

That was nice you had a chat with Steve Jane i know Nicko was pleased when i stopped to chat to him it must be so lonely for them on the streets ,he probably does have the things that they carn't sell at the end of the day but there's nothing like a good hot meal this time of the year .
Does he have far to go to get to Johnnys Happy Place ? Perhaps he's not one for mixing with other people .
I suppose he will look a bit dishevelled as this time of the year all his clothes must get so damp .
I wonder if he was given a hot water bottle if the ladies at the Co.op would fill it with hot water for him ,i was going to give Nicko one but luckily he got some where in the dry for the winter .
I have seen Nicko round the town Jane but i'm usually in the car so haven't had a word with him lately but he looks nice and tidy so he must be in some where as he doesn't have his bag with him any more so thats good .

Dinner in now. Chicken Crown with Garlic and herb ,and a tray of Charlottes,Jerusalm Artichokes,Olives,Cherry Tomatoes and Lemon slices.

Mel OH did a good job clearing all that today from the loft and getting it burned. If he is anything like Chris tonight he will be cream crackered. His fingers all look like big sausages and he doing an awful lot off ooffing and aahing. He says once he has eaten he will be hitting the sack.
So it looks like it will be me and Thomas this evening if Chris is in bed and James has gone.

Evening All,

No sun here either!

That's a good idea about a hot water bottle Mandy. I was watching those dispensing machines on tv the other night for the homeless and thought they were a good idea. They have to have a card to use and can get 3 free items a day, things like a drink, fruit, sandwich, toothbrush and paste and sanitary towels for women, socks. The Co-op here give to the local community, so I am not surprised they look after the homeless man by giving him things Jane. It's great they let him stay there as long as he isn't begging from customers and he's no need to if they are giving him things. It's good you had a chat with him, as, in his situation you must feel very excluded from normal life if folk pass you by and no-one seems to care or even speak to you. Even if you don't have drink/drug problems it would take enormous inner strength to dig yourself out of the situation if you had no -one to turn to or help you or give you support. Not everyone is as kind as you or Mandy either and no-one needs insults or rocks thrown at them when they are in such a sad situation.

That's very handy having the window to chuck stuff out of your loft Mel. It sounds like you had a lot of stuff up there! Is there any left now? I should really sell some of my 60s clothes I have in ours as they'll never fit me now and are being advertised as 'vintage' nowadays. I don't have much, a nice fitted black maxi coat and a few dresses. The loft's very tidy with most stuff in plastic boxes but I'm sure there are things like old tv stands up there that could go as 3 of our tvs are now fixed to the wall. OH has a lot of his (now) old fashioned older work suits up there that he said the other day he needs to clear out. Quite a few are pinstriped navy, grey or black and have trousers with turn ups and double breasted jackets and some with waistcoats too!!! lol.

Frank it will be good to have JJ visit again as he seems to be at home as soon as he arrives and is no trouble. Good idea not to encourage Biggles coming for long though as you mustn't risk falling over him.

I seem to be a bit out of sorts since last night, didn't sleep well and this morning got so cold I went to bed with a hot water bottle when I got home and even kept my fleece coat on at first. It's not like me to be cold!! I feel a bit better now though so I think an early night will help. My friend's 2 cats were sleeping in their beds in front of the radiator and where they would catch any warm rays of sun if there had been any today. They know where the cosiest spots are don't they! The one with longer fur and tufty toes has the most velvety soft fur on her head.

A finger of Fudge is just enough until it's time to eat
It's full of Cadbury goodness but very small and neat
A finger of Fudge is just enough to give your kids a treat

I had a good go at my crafting yesterday afternoon and evening. Did'nt have to cook dinner so he had toasted cheese sandwiches a nd I had beans on toast with cheese on top.

Oh is fitting the old bathroom round strip light up in the loft.

Afternoon All
Still very dull and dreary here Mel. That is 3 days like this now .It may be even 4 :-S
Chris is sawing up logs now with the chain saw . I think the branches have all been burned now. I think he has quite enjoyed being outside again and out from under my feet :-D

So OH is still up in the loft. We have a pretty rubbish light in our loft .It is fine for half the loft but to see right to the end you need a big torch.

I wonder how the meal was last night for Frank snd Ros. Hopefully he wasnt up all night with indigestion !

Its really dark in here and I need the lights on. I have just asked Alexa to play some nice gentle soothing music. It is lovely and relaxing. It might send me of to sleep soon :-D.If it does I shall have to have something a bit more upbeat.

I have realised this morning that my eyelashes are disappearing :-S It is these tablets causing it. What with my hair coming out and now the lashes it is getting bad now. So I am going to make an appointment and see if I can possibly stop taking them now.I cant go on like this ,plus all the difficulty with walking because the pills affect the muscles. Its all getting a bit much now for me and it is really getting me down.

Thomas seems to be up his old tricks again :-S. He didnt appear last night until almost 11 and then was wanting out at 5 this morning. :-S :-S There has to be rabbits somewhere.I havent seen him since I let him out.

I need to unpack my food shopping. It has been sat in the kitchen for ages. Thankfully there is nothing frozen :-D

Afternoon Folks,

We did have a bit of sun for a short while just before lunch but it has gone now! Mel must have pinched back again! :-D :-D

Chris must be feeling energetic to be up the tree like that Jane. Is he taking the whole tree down or just shortening the branches? It sounds pretty miserable with the effects you are getting with the tablets so it would be good if you could reduce/stop them. What are the tablets for that are causing the problems?

I feel a lot better this morning but still a bit wobbly and not fancying much to eat. I just had porridge with blueberries for lunch. I have had a giggle though! The sale of the new house at the end of the close fell through according to a neighbour the other day and he said there was to be an 'open day' today for folk to come and look around. When we looked out of the front window this morning, the 2 neighbours at the end of the close each side had each moved one of their cars onto the road so it would be tight to drive through to the new house! One was 'busy' cleaning one of his other cars and the other was 'busy doing nothing' with a broom in his hand. He'd also brought a radio out and turned it up loud! A few minutes later his wife had brought him a plate of sandwiches to eat outside! Honestly, they are like little boys who didn't get their own way!! I went to do a few errands then. :-S

OH got a letter through this morning to ring up about booking his cataract to be done, which I thought would take at least a few weeks to come! So when he rings up on Monday and gets a date, if it's quite soon, I may be able to book up our trip to Cornwall. :-D

He's gone to a match near Derby this afternoon so I have the dishwasher and washer going. It always feels like I am working then even if I am sitting down!

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 13 Jan 2018 15:32

Ann I had to laugh at the boys at the end of the Close. I am sure they would tell you how many people came to see the new house. It is a bit soon after Christmas though as most peeps would be wanting to view houses etc a bit later on I would have thought.

Jane Report 13 Jan 2018 15:44

I'm glad you are feeling better today Ann. It sounds like another of these bugs you have had. Porridge and Blueberries sound just the ticket. I have had a good chuckle at your neighbours antics LOL I can just picture them :-D Like 2 Victor Meldrews :-D :-D

Chris did have the energy but has NONE now after doing the trees. He has had a good hot shower and is going to read the paper and do nothing else for the rest of the day. I think he took one tree down and part of the Hazelnut Tree.He is feeling the effects now LOL

These tablets Ann are do do with the Psoriasis . Called Acetretin or another name I cant think of. Something to do with Vitamin A and it slows down the skin growth .It is all beyond me lol . I just would really like to stop taking them now if posssible. I am supposed to take them until May which will be 12 months since I first started them.
Just checked they eyebrows and they too seem to be getting less :-S :-S
I don't like this :-(
That is good OH has had the letter already to arrange the Cataract op. If he can get that done in the next month or two then you should be good for your Cornish Holiday :-D..Larry was able to drive just after few weeks of having his done.

I have lit the fire as it is so gloomy and a little chilly too now. Stll no sign of Thomas !!

Lamb Shanks for us 2 tonight. These are new ones from Waitrose and havent had them before .

Did Gill post yesterday? I'm not sure she did. (unless I missed her) Hope all is fine.

Ann those cats yesterday knew the right place to sleep didnt they :-D :-D

Evening all,

I had a nice meal with Ros with the exception of the bar staff and waitress calling me "DARLING" all the time.

I haven't done a thing today, and feel totally out of salts. As you can see this is the first time I have been on here.

I haven't read the posts, and will try to read them before tomorrow.

Hope you are all well. xx

Hello Darling :-D Frank I hate being called that too. Glad the meal was nice and sorry you feel a bit out of sorts today. Lets hope tomorrow will be a better one <3

Oh Gill !!!!! Things are sounding very bad for you at the moment . I am at a loss as to what to say .It sounds as though you are going through a very traumatic time at the moment and I am so sorry to hear this. Please PM me if you feel you can . I am a good listener . I worked for Victim Support for 10 years .

Annx Report 13 Jan 2018 18:38

I don't mind 'darling' really, but don't like 'babe' or 'guy' that younger staff tend to use. Why do they say things like 'no worries' or 'no problem' when you order as well?? They are doing their job so there shouldn't be any worries or problem for the customer! lol. At least the meal was good from that huge menu Frank. I hope you start to feel a bit better soon.

Oh Gill I'm sorry you are having all these problems and quite understand why you can't talk about it. I hope things work out ok for you. It sounds a scary situation.

Gill I am so sorry this has all flared up for you in the new year. You take care of yourself and you know we are all here for you if you want to talk to anyone privately. Take care of yourself and Sandra and Glynn and don't work too hard on the packing and wear yourself out or you will be no good for anything or anyone. Sending all my love to you all.

Thanks everyone for your kind words, I might not be on here much for a while as I've got a lot to sort out, so don't worry if you don't hear from me for a few days at a time. I'll bob in and out when I can.

OH has took himself off to A&E to get his back checked out.

Morning all,

The sun has got its hat on again this morning but its been rather frosty in the night. Oh has just gone up the loft so I expect I shall be called for something soon.

We have loft flooring boards coming tomorrow and some roofing rails for shelving up there so he can get everything off the floor.

Frank Report 14 Jan 2018 13:44

Afternoon all,

Sorry to read of your problems Gill. As already said WE are all here to help if you need it. xx

Was awake at 4,58 am this morning, and I didn't go to bed till after 11.00 pm. I have just thought I haven't eaten properly for two days. After the meal with Ros on Friday, I left a big piece of steak Gammon and sausages. Roa packed them in paper serviettes and took them to Martine yesterday for the dogs. Didn't eat anything Friday evening. No breakfast Saturday, only a roll and salad Saturday lunchtime. NO Takeaway last night, and only two COT this morning. I hope I can eat my dinner later today.

I weighed myself this morning and I am down to 12 stone 11 lbs. The lightest I have been for years. I did get up to 14 and a half stone. I think cutting down on beer and food has a lot to do with that, and a lack of exercise . But with weather like we are having, who wants to be out walking ??

I spoke with my sister this morning. She was at the hospital on Thursday have a scan on her lungs. It seems he might have an infection in them. They won't give her any inhalers as her heart is too weak, and might cause more trouble. In one way and another she is not in the best of health. Her Son Paul is off to see the Northern Lights on Tuesday and will be back Friday. So I think she will be happier when he returns.

Ann, I think the trouble with STAFF in these places aren't taught how to treat Customers, and treat them as they would their friends and family. It seems the only places where you get "SIR or Madam" are the better class restaurants. and you have to pay for it. LOL LOL.

Mel,How big is your loft ?? I would love to have ours boarded out. But if we did, I don't think we would be able to get up and down into it anyway. So what's the point.

Chris certainly loves to get into the garden with his bonfires Jan. You are lucky to be able o burn stuff in the garden. IT IS strictly NO GO in our area. I have a Eucalyptus tree that needs to come down. It has grown so tall, with hardly any branches on it. It just an eyesore. As and when we do it, it will have to go into our green bin, unless I can find someone to take it away.

Dismal day here again. Ros is just finishing the "Bishops Chair" cover. She thought she was finished, but when they tried it on the chair, it's still a bit too small. This is due to the amount of stuffing they are using.

Roast Pork, new potato's, baby carrots, Cauli and Broccoli with roast Parsnips, Yorkshire pudding and of course CHEESE SAUCE. !!!

Don' forget Gill we are here if you need us. xxx

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 14 Jan 2018 15:44

Frank I hope you manage something to eat tonight as it all sounds lovely to me.

Is the cover to cover a cushioned seat on the Bishops chair Frank? or does it cover the whole chair. We had our Bishops Chair stolen out of our little church so someone made us another one.

Gillx Report 14 Jan 2018 16:20

OH has just got back from the hospital, he might have a slip disc or it could be muscular, he has been given anti-inflammatory tablets and told to see his doctor on Friday. He's also got blood in his urine so that'll need checking again on Friday. When he went to the pharmacy there was a young girl taking things off the shelf and putting them in her pocket. Poor OH ended up locked inside the pharmacy until security came to take the girl away. This year seems to be going from bad to worse. I hope it gets better soon.
I said to OH he's not safe to be let out ;-)

Evening all,

Another dull day here so we've been in front of the fire and the television all the afternoon .

Gill i'm so sorry to read that you have all these problems not a very happy start to the new year for you all and now poor OH hurting his back , hopefully the anti-inflammatory tablets will do the trick , as the others have said we're all here for you and as they say a troubled shared is a trouble halved <3

Nice photo of Chris in the garden being a lumberjack :-D i can see why you didn't want to go out while he was up the tree Jane .

Hope you can manage some of your meal tonight Frank ,perhaps you could do some lighter meals while you don't have much of an appetite .

OH is getting on well in the loft Mel ,ours is all boarded out makes it so much easier to walk about up there ,not that i go up but it's better for Colin or was ,he hasn't been up there since he had his hip op.

I had to smile at your neighbours antics Ann :-D it must have been funny to watch them , i expect they had a meeting to decide what action they could take :-D
That will be good if OH's cataract can be all done and dusted with so you can get away when you want ,don't know what sort of wait there is for those little op's hopefully not a long one ,glad your feeling better too.

Hope your feeling better too now Anne and that little Ruby is coming along nicely too .

Lewis is three tomorrow ,where has that time gone , he wants a bin lorry :-D he's mad about the bin lorries , we've bought him a Toot Toot Garage .
