Good Morning Jane, and all my little sun beams,
We have the bright sunshine to Jane, it's so bright you can't look into it. Clear blue sky's also. But that wind looks like it will cut you in half. !!
Anne, so sorry to are still under the weather, you really should see the doctor, to see if he can give you something to help with your recovery.
Mel, I expect the bill for the loo installation in Computer generated and the VAT would throw up the odd amount. Your OH is certainly going to be busy lying those boards in the loft. Better him than me. lol.
Iffy sort of night last night. I dreamt we were in a Vets with my old Lab. I said to him. What should I do with the dog, if one of us dies. He replied PUT HIM DOWN. !!! Needless to say I didn't enjoy the dream.
Ros has just reminded me I have an injection at 11.30 this morning. The month just seem to fly by. I expect a sore bottom today then. ;-) ;-)
I hope your parcels turn up before you go to Fitz's Jane. It will spoil your lunch if they are late.
I hope young Lewis had a nice birthday yesterday, like Jane I forgot it.
I have been thinking of Gill and Family this morning. I hope things are starting to sort out for them. It must be a strain on them.
Time for a bit of toast and MY MATE. and another cup of Coffee.
See you all later.

Morning all
Sunny here but very windy and cold.
We're all okay now Frank, OH's back is starting to ease a bit and all the problems are sorted, we're all back to normal now.
Happy birthday to Lewis for yesterday Mandy. Hope he had a great day.
How is your OH getting on with boarding out the loft Mel. Is it a large loft?
Anne I think you should see a doctor if you're still feeling unwell, it's been quite some time now so might be worth having a check up to see what the problem is.

Morning all,
I too forgot little Lewis's birthday yesterday so,
<3 <3 <3 Happy Third Birthday Lewis <3 <3 <3
We have sunshine now and blue sky with little white clouds but also that very cold wind.
Oh is in the loft and I am just going to get myself a bit of toast so I can take my pills before going out to the shops.
Had more emails from my cousin in Ohio with photos too. She wanted my cousin Malc's address so I have been on to him this morning and he said it was ok to give Hilary it. She sent me a pic from 1985 of a family reunion and Malc's mum was in it. He did'nt know anything about it but I said I woud send the photo to him. He dos'nt go on the pc but his wife does so she will show him it on the pc.
Funny dream Frank but you were taking the other day about your old lab so I expect thats why you dreamt about it.
Hope Anne is feeling a bit better today and love to her and Ruby.
Must dash, lots to do.

Well sore bum is back.!! I didn't get in to see the nurse until almost 12.00. Ros sat in the car freezing her bits off. She finally started the car and put he heating on, and found a pair of gloves in the glove box.
I have been busy in the kitchen. I have stuffed the chicken and put it in an onion gravy with added Parsley, thyme , and a bit of garlic. Potato's done ready for roasting, and I have made a Ratatouille, it will make a change from Vegetables.
Ros has the steps out, hunting spiders. She has found lots of cob web in the bedroom, Bathroom and Lounge. So they won't stand a chance when she says on them.
Ros has just had a call from Val next door to ask if She is going to Mothers Club tonight. Madam thought it was next week, so is checking with the other Val. to make sure next door has it right. We know how she gets things wrong. ;-) ;-) ;-) If it is I will have FREE RANGE with the T.V. box for a couple of hours. :-D :-D :-D.
Pleased to see things are improving at your end Gill. Lets hope that after all the work you have all put into the bungalow, and garden, will mean you can reap the benefits, instead of leaving it for someone else to enjoy. I wish you all the very best, whatever you decide to do. Bur remember, we are here if you need us. xxx
Your Cousin in Ohio, is really getting involved with the greater family Mel. You never know a Family reunion could be on the cards. What part of the Family is she from and what sort of age would she be ??? Like you Mel, I like it to be quiet when I am reading. How people can read and watch T.V. I will never know. But Ros does it all the time. !!!
I trust Jane and Chris were able to go to Fitz for lunch, and not delayed by the delivery people.
I think the conservatory might be warm enough for me to sit out there and read. I will test it out !!!
I trust you, and yours, are all keeping well, and haven't caught this horrible fly that came over from Australia. THANKS KIM xxx

Afternoon :-D It was just me that went to Fitz's and Chris has not been feeling quite right today. I think it is the after effects of spending those days cutting the trees and chopping up all the branches and chopping logs. His hands are really sore too. He has a bit of a disturbed night last night too which is unusual for him. Maybe his hands were hurting.I think just having a quiet afternoon on his own here just reading was the best thing for him to do. My Parcel hasn't arrived :-S But Chris's did. The Smart Meter men arrived at Fitz's when I was there. They must have been there for at least an hour and half before I left. I didn't want to disturb them but I had to ask them to move both vans so I could get out of the drive.
Hope your sore botty doesnt last long Frank. Was she gentle with the injection? Ros would have fun here with all the spiders and webs too. Where do they all come from at this time of year !!!!!!. Ladybirds too. I found 2 on my bed the other day :-S
Gill ,it sounds like things are calmer for you now which is really good to hear. Are you still packing or taking a deep breath and reconsidering ?
Mel is your loft cold? It cant be very pleasant for OH being up there for so long.Maybe you are handing mugs of hot drinks up to him :-D
Fitz gave me a copy of an old 'Hello' magazine from 1997 .It has 11 pages all about the wedding of Fitz's cousins wifes Sister 11 pages :-0 :-0 So many famous people including Karl Largerfield the fashion designer and Joan Collins. Lord Longford was the Brides Grandfather. It says Guests from the world of Literature,Haute Couture, and Show Business gather in Paris for a glittering Aristocratic Wedding. Fitz's Cousins daughter Blanche is getting married later this year and Fitz will be going to that .I wonder who might be at that one? Fitz is dreading it LOL . He always feels like the poor relation :-D :-D(which he is compared to most of them)
Fish and Chips courtesy of the freezer tonight. Youngs Lemon and Herb Basa Fillets(Anne likes them ) and McCains Gastro Chips.Frozen peas to go with . Chris said he had 3 poached eggs on toast for lunch !!!!!! . I have never known him do poached eggs before. He surely cant be hungry yet.

Shopping all done and put away. Gosh its been a cold old day here too. We had some sunshine and blue sky with fluffy white clouds and then it turned grey and rained and then as I went out at 1.30pm it was as black as your hat and rain and sleet but when I got to Frithlestock the sun was out again and the sky blue. A bit further on towards Bideford it came over all dark again. The lady in Morrisons who served me said it had been lashing rain whilst I was in there. A bit more rain on the way home and then when I was home and was just going to corn the chickens we had thunder and lightening (very very frightening) sorry had to write that!! Oh said this afternoon when he was down out of the loft for his lunch there was lightening and he thought it had hit the windowsill as my battery lights in the glass thing came on when there was a crack. He thought it had blowon the lights but they worked ok when I turned them on.
I keep meaning to tell you that last week when I drove into Bideford and got to Landcross the daffs are all flowering there. Its so nice to see a touch of spring so early. Then when I went to Holsworthy the other day they were flowering there too all along this straight bit of road along the edge of a farmers field. My snowdrops in the orchard are in flower too. Not many yet but they never fail to amaze me how they can flower when we are getting hard frosts in the morning.
Hope you managed to change the top Mandy. A blimmin nuisance if they don't.
I found the missing present for oh today!!! Whilst I was clearing a bit of the lounge I moved an armchair and there it was. I had tucked it there out of sight. I have been looking for it since Christmas as I knew I had brought it in and wrapped it but for the life of me I could'nt find it. He opened it after I had put the shopping away and we were having a COC and a cream eclair. It was four different kinds of gin and four bottles of different tonic waters.
Smoked haddock for me tonight and a jacket and sweetcorn. Oh is having his Ticka Marsala curry onion bargees and naan bread. I don't like that..........

Evening All,
It turned perishing here after lunch when the sunshine went! OH decided against going to a match tonight and got his jim jams and dressing gown on instead.
Glad your OH's back has started to ease Gill and if everything is sorted now I take it you aren't moving after all? It would have been a shame not to enjoy the results of all the work you had done on the bungalow and garden. Is Sandra disappointed she won't be getting a big bedroom now?
Anne you do sound quite poorly and must be quite down in spirits with not feeling well. I think the others are right about considering a trip to the docs, but I hope you soon begin to pick up.
I watched Vera I had recorded and thought it was quite good. I've still to watch Silent Witness. We watched the Surgeons prog last night. OMG that poor woman with the 18lb tumour!! She was skin and bone otherwise and only a year older than me. It was wonderful though that they didn't write her off because of her age and did their best for her. I hope she carried on doing well. It must take a lot of courage to tackle some of the cases they have.
Frank, we have a few spiders too. I sucked one up the cordless this morning! I noticed a fly yesterday as well so they must be waking up! I hope you are 'sitting comfortably' now as they used to say on the childrens' daytime tv! :-D I expect she swaps sides each time with the injection.
We went to see Darkest Hour at the cinema about Churchill yesterday. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it, the acting was brilliant. I was expecting it to be cold so I wore a top, cardie, zip up fleece, scarf and had my coat draped over my knees. I had my bright yellow earplugs in, which helped with the noise and didn't even need to take them out for the film as it was loud enough with them in. Two carers with people in wheelchairs were near the front and one was so irritating and wouldn't stop looking at her mobile, despite them telling you to switch them off when the film starts. It was flashing a white screen in the corner of our eyes. OH made a dry comment (to me!) that it isn't all hard work being a carer!
Your OH is getting on well with the loft Mel. If you didn't have insulation before it will make a big difference. Ours is about a foot deep, except where it is boarded down the middle. There are raised bits like platforms at each end and OH put planks across and we store our cases and other things on those. It will be good when you get it straight as you can find things easier then. It was a good find discovering the wool as it is quite expensive now.
I hope Lewis had a nice birthday Mandy. Did you make him a cake? :-) The little garage sounded just the right thing with the age he is. I still can't believe all those gorgeous things you knitted for Lacey's doll.
Jane, Fitz seems to have so many impressive connections! He isn't the poor relation really.......'breeding will show' as they say and he certainly has that with his ancestry!! ;-) ;-). Does Hannah have any plans as to what she will do after her graduation?

Good Morning Mel, and all.
Very bright sunshine and blue sky's here this morning, but BOY is that wind cold.
No sign of hail or snow, which they say might comes behind the 60/70 mph winds. I think Scotland and Northern Ireland are in for the worse of it.
No ill effects from my injection, but I must say Louise (the nurse) is very gentle with me. ;-) ;-) ;-)
My Niece Susan (Bill's daughter) sent me loads of photo's of Bill in Egypt when they had the Sueze )sp) Crisis. King FAROUK was the King of Egypt at that time. This would have been in the early 50s. She has found a box of old newspaper clippings and photo's from when he was in his 20s. We are like two peas in a pod. <3 <3
Fitz certainly came from a good background Jane, even though he might be the poor relative now. !! He can say he's been there, got the T shirt. etc. and a lot of fond memories.
I am on a thread about Woodford Bridge, where I was born. I found out yesterday that our local Beauty Spot. Millman's Hill or Drapers Hill, had another name over 100 years ago. COW PAT HILL. It was from the time that cattle grazed on the hill. They say you learn something new every day !!! Had your heard of it Mel, when you were local. ??
I am not sure if I should ring my Sister today, as today is when Paul goes away for a few days, she is bound to be tearful, and I am not sure I need it. !!!
I must ring Simon. We were going to have him and Sally over for a Sunday Lunch, before Christmas. It never happened, so we should try to find a Sunday when Sally isn't on call, or they are busy with her family.
Chicken Curry tonight. I must say the Free Range bird last night, wasn't as tasty as I thought it might be, and there wasn't that much on it. Ros will add a bit of chicken breasts from the freezer to make a meal for tonight.
Mandy, I can't remember the last time I was in Norwich, it must have been 1959 when I was stationed at Old Catton Fighter Control Unit, on Constitution Hill. Is the SAMSON and HERCULES Still opposite the Cathedral ??? Many a good Saturday night spent there. Happy memories. lol lol. There was also the local PUB. THE WOODMAN on the cross roads. by Old Catton.
Ros is off to town by herself this morning, as Carolyn is away until March.
See you all later.

Yes Frank I think dad used to call it Cow Pat Hill sometimes.
I was 10 years old when you were stationed at Constitution Hill.
Hope your sister is ok Frank. How long will she be on her own?
Sun is still out here but we just had a small short sharp shower. The wind is enough to cut you like a knife out there this morning. There are still some patches of hailstones where they have collected in hole and folds. Round by my pond there is a net resting against the little wall and that has about four inches in it.
Poor girls are still extremly wet in their run and oh has all the lagging stacked in the garage and I can't get to their woodshavings. I was going to add some to the house today and clean the nests out. They will keep sleeping in the nests, but I don't blame so leave them there. This means I have to clear out their droppings from the nests each morning so now they need more shavings in there.

Afternoon all
Sunny here but very windy and cold.
We had hailstones yesterday too Mel and a few flakes of snow.
Fitz comes from a good background Jane, even if he thinks of himself as the poor relative.
How is your OH getting on with the loft Mel. When we had ours done we noticed such a difference, although the loft itself is a lot colder than it used to be.
I've decided to leave everything I've packed in boxes as I don't use any of it very much so probably won't miss it. Plus a lot of it is material which had gone a musty smell with having it all under the bed so I don't want to put it back there as it took me hours to wash it all, so that'll go into the loft when OH is fit enough to put it up there. I still need to go through my wardrobes so will probably have more stuff to put in the loft. My wardrobes are more like cupboards with just a few clothes and shoes for show LOL. So I'll carry on going through everything and have a good sort out. I have noticed that I have a lot of family tree stuff in difference places so I'll box it all up together before I forget where it all is.
I woke up with a stiff neck yesterday and it's still very sore, so typing is quite painful.
I think I'll go and get some painkillers and have a lie down. I've done some hoovering and polishing today, plus a few loads of washing, so I don't suppose that has helped.

I did a load of ironing this morning before getting lunch. Oh has been down in the kitchen screwing screws into the legs the boards stand on. He said it is easier to do it down here than on his knees up in the loft. He has done two boxes of them so has now gone back up there. Its getting cold down here now so I think the heating will have to go on for a while whether it goes up the loft or not.

Glad to see you are on the thread Gill. Stay with us each day if you can, it will keep you in touch, and help break your day up.xx
Your Oh is keeping himself very busy Mel. I expect when the lost is all boarded, it will be warmer in the bungalow. My sister has been on her own for around six years. But thankfully she still have both her sons living within visiting distance. Paul is just round the corner, so is the main person she relies on.
I had a phone call from a friend round the corner, wanting to visit us, with his wife. He has had Cancer of the bone in his left leg. They thought he needed his knee replacing, but when they X Rayed it, found a grow on the bone above the knee. They took away a lot of his leg above and below the knee. and replaced the whole lot. This was only a month ago, so he is doing remarkable well considering. He has also had a STROKE. It made a nice break for them both to get out of the house for a couple of hours.
It's perishing cold outside. I went out to help my fried down the step. and almost froze my bits off. :-0 :-0 :-0 Brass Monkeys come to mind. LOL.
I see Norwich are playing Chelsea tonight, on BBC 1. Not sure if the Conservatory will be warm enough, even with the heater on, to sit out there to watch it. I will see later. K.O is I think 7.45 or 8.00 pm.
Did you enjoy your Trip to Norwich Mandy, ?? How far are you from there. ??
Going to watch "FLOG IT" so see you later.

Evening All,
You have had quite a bit of thunder and lightning lately haven't you Mel. Some of the fields around here were flooded again after all the rain yesterday but it has been a nice sunny day here, but quite chilly and getting windier now. Are the legs your OH is putting on the boards to lift them above the insulation? I saw some in B&Q last time I went and thought they were a good idea.
Fancy you finding OH's lost present! I was restoring more stuff on my new flashstick yesterday, but still have more to do. Perhaps you could pop over and have a look for me.......you seem to have been good at finding things lately!
I got the car washed in the village this afternoon and I think the boys were glad to be doing it to warm themselves up as there was no-one else there. One had a hood over the top of his woolly hat. They are always cheerful and so polite though. As I drove out 2 of them were jumping up and down on the spot, trying to jump higher than each other to keep warm. As I drove by I smiled at them and held my hands up rubbing them together. They beamed back and both gave me a big thumbs up!! Their english isn't great, but there are ways to make them understand you! lol. When I got home I hoovered and dusted the car inside and it looks much better now, but I must try and do the front and back screens on the inside tomorrow.
OH has gone out to Rutland now to do a presentation later so I hope this bad weather that's expected doesn't affect his trip home. He's gone early as he wants to look around a good charity bookshop he's found there. :-)
OH has had a letter already about his cataract being done, but when he rang they told him that the appointment would be just to see the consultant first and that could be in 3-4 months and the appointment to do it would be some time after that. They have forwarded his papers to the hospital who will be doing it now and he has to wait for them to contact him next. We have decided to go ahead and book our holiday as it sounds like it will be a while after that before he has it done.
It's a good idea not to ring your sister today Frank. You have to think of yourself too as you haven't been too chipper lately and she may also get herself worked up about her son being away. She may be getting more used to the idea by the time you do ring.
Did you manage to change the top Mandy?
OH burst out laughing at me this morning as I was thinking and said I wasn't making enough 'memories'. His answer was that I'd better set to and make some then!! :-D
