Frank Report 20 Jan 2018 12:02

Mandy, they are on the radiator drying out. I have about SIX PAIRS so I don't need them.

Ros has gone to Tesco for the weekend Veg and odds and sods. I am about to let JJ out for a wee. Then I will get a brolly out and walk to the pub. It will be the furthest I have walked since before Christmas. Nowhere to stop for a rest, so will have to make it in one go. !!!

Afternoon all

Raining here, it hasn't stopped all day.

Yes Mel Sandra would of been in her element with all the snow your cousin has. Imagine how many snowmen she could of built ;-) ;-)
It sounds like you had fun with your OH finding and losing things all day. Hope he manages the 4 boards today without losing anything else. Hope he gives you all your tools back before they go missing.

What are you like Frank, getting in the shower with your slippers on, good job you have some spare ones. I found a pair of slippers I'd bought for OH for Christmas yesterday, I must of forgotten I'd bought them as I went and bought another pair for him for Christmas so now he has two pairs, I also found another pair of trainers I'd bought him too. Good job I'm doing my sorting isn't it? I wonder what else I'll find LOL.

How is the tree removal going Jane? What a daft person trying to see it when it's dark, the silly man. Hope it doesn't take to long for him to move it, although it might end up damaging other parts of your garden if he's using a wheel barrow back and forth for ages. Let's hope that's not the case.

I've had to swap a box with Sandra this morning, she had a small one with her CD's in and the one I had to put my books in was slightly to big to fit in the wardrobe. Sandra has her things in a cupboard which is wider than my wardrobe which is why we've had a swap around. I have three small boxes now so hope that is enough for all my books. So I'll be popping those into boxes today and putting them in the wardrobe out of the way.

I noticed yesterday that I have a lot of family tree stuff in various places like my books were, so if I have time today I'll collect it all up together and pop it all in boxes to put in my corner wardrobe.

OH is going to have lots of things to put up in the loft once his back is better. I imagine that will be quite some time away though, which is why I'm trying to find boxes to fit into the wardrobes so they can be stored there for now out of sight.

Well, I'd better get on with it, I've still got my books all over the living room floor and they are in the way. See you all later.

Yes we hav'nt seen a picture of Lewis for ages. I think he was about 14 when we last had a pic.

Its really miserable here today but much warmer.

I have just given oh a coffee and am now going to Em's and the shop.

Mandy the jacket is now in his wardrobe!! I don't think he will ever lose a stone!! He is over 20 stone now!!! i MUST ADMIT THAT SINCE THEY TOOK HIS STATIN DOWN TO 20MG HE HAS'NT HAD THE MUSCLE PAIN OR GONE OFF TO LIE DOWN IN THE AFTERNOON. Sorry but I am not typing all that again. he has been much more active but still very slow walking. He has bad hips too.

Forgot to mention earlier for those who watch it, "Call the Midwife" starts tomorrow at 8pm on BBC.1 I've popped it on my planner to watch on my own as OH and Sandra don't like that programme.

I've just noticed that two programmes I've never heard of on channels I didn't know I had have appeared on my planner for some reason, so I've had to delete them.
This has happened before.....very strange. Shall have to keep an eye on the planner now as I only have 9% on there so don't want to run out of space recording things I don't want to watch.
I wonder why that's happening???????

Afternoon All
What a wet and horrible day. The rain seems to be getting heavier now :-S.
I have to say the neighbour has done a pretty good job so far with his 1 wheelbarrow .There is still a lot to clear but I am not sure if he will do any more today in this weather. Saying that he probably will. Some man came to look at the fencing and will sent a quote to Rob. He didnt wheel the barrow on the lawn but used the path and patio so that was good. I was watching from the upstairs window .He is only a short man but my word he must be pretty strong as each load was piled high . He wheeled each load around to his house and has dumped it at the side of his house .I noticed just now when I came in from shopping that it is all covered with a big tarpaulin.

I did manage to get a pic of him :-D

Mel OH will be pleased with that leather jacket even though you wanted it :-D.
Thomas has the grumps with this rain. He did go out a little while ago and within minutes was back with a Mouse. He ate that on the patio and is now drying himself off.Face like a wet weekend LOL .

Rob is back !!!!! Wheelbarrow too. Poor man looks exhausted . Oh he has a shovel too now. I can see he will need a good relaxing bath later and by tomorrow I should think he will hardly be able to move.

JJ sounds lovely and comfy on his fleece in the chair Frank. I bet you were pleased to have him back again. How long is he staying this time?
Soggy Slippers! . Was it just the bottoms that got wet or the whole lot? I have worn slippers too when I have got in to clean the shower without thinking. I usually wear those rubber garden clogs.
I must get rid of my old ones .I had new ones for Xmas but the old ones are still knocking around the bedroom. . It sounds like you are finding some surprises Gill Extra Slippers and Trainers. I wonder what else you might find that you forgot you bought .

I love Call the Midwife so am looking forward to the new series. Did anyone see Eastenders last night ? When the life support was turned off for Abbie? It was all very emotional . I got through a few tissues .

There are snowflakes coming down in the rain. Not Sleet but proper big flakes !!

I need to ring Janice as her son Matthew and wife Kelsey are on their belated Honeymoon in Jamaica and there is trouble going on and tourists being told to stay at their Hotel Resorts. I dont know where Matthew is staying. Janice will be having kittens !!!!

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 20 Jan 2018 14:03

Six pairs !!! Frank you could nearly wear one pair for each day of the week LOL

So your still sorting then Gill, is it those plastic boxes your using or just the cardboard boxes , i like those plastic storage boxes best ,you can see whats in them when they are stacked up.
Yes we'll be watching Call the Midwife tomorrow we like that programme , we find programmes on our planner too that we haven't recorded and they are programmes that we've never watched before.

He's getting the tree cleared then Jane ,i don't suppose the wood is very heavy as it's so rotten ,if he's not use to to much hard work he will be stiff tomorrow !!
I heard that on the news this morning about Jamaica ,i think it's that they don't want tourists going off the beaten track on their own ,they should be ok if they keep in the hotel grounds and only go on guided tours .
Eastenders was so sad last night ,i wonder who will look after the baby .

It's now started to rain .

Gillx

Gillx Report 20 Jan 2018 14:26

I'd love to see the photo of him moving the tree Jane. It sounds like he's getting stuck in with it, let's hope it's all finished today as he might be to stiff to do any tomorrow. Hopefully your fence will be sorted soon too.
Yes, Eastenders was very sad last night. When Tanya held Abbie's hand then called for Max I thought for a second that Abbie had moved and it was going to be okay for her, but then when they switched the life support off and it flicked back to the pub, the two scenes together made me cry. I was wondering who was going to look after her baby too.

I'm using cardboard boxes Mandy as plastic tends to make things smell. When I sorted everything out from under our bed the material I had under there smelt musty so I spent hours washing it all, the last thing I want is for it all to smell again, so I think cardboard boxes would be better. Some of the boxes are going up in the loft once OH's back is better, so there won't be many left down here.

So it's not just me then Mandy, you have extra recording too. It's very strange isn't it? I'm the same as you I've never watched any of them either, they just seem to appear with a series link attached.

Just watching some programmes off the planner now as I'm running out of space, I am packing up the books that are laying on the floor at the same time.

Jane

Jane Report 20 Jan 2018 14:59

I can't believe it. He has finished !!! Fencing put back into place for now and he has gone home for a bath and a Whisky LOL .
I think Mandy like you just said the wood was so soft it made it much easier to clear.Even though he is a bit of an odd bod he worked his blooming socks off to get it all done . I will send a couple of pics.

I am sure that Matt and Kelsey will be sensible and stick to safe places ,but I know they do love to do a bit exploring. It is a bit of a worry though. Such a shame too when it their Honeymoon.

I have just blitzed up a load of Parsley,Mint,Coriander, garlic, white wine, olive oil and a little ground Cumin and have a Turkey Breast marinating in it all now for tomorrows dinner. It is all so green !!! . I did this once before and it was lovely.

Its so dark , but the rain seems to have eased off for now.It doesnt feel that cold but I am going to light the fire anyway . Thomas is off to the Cattery in the morning. He ain't going to be happy when I dont let him out !.He'll know something is up :-D

Alexa is playing me some nice Jazz music :-D

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 20 Jan 2018 15:10

I bought one of those long plastic boxes to go under a sideboard in the lounge. I had all my wreath making stuff in two cardboard boxes which went under there. Now I have put it in the long box I can't get it all in there like I could in the two boxes so it may all be coming back out and back in the boxes it was in before. The long one will go under our bed or I may put stuff in it up in the loft. I have all my wool in one deep box from my shed.

I too found two more things I had bought for oh yesterday. One was a set of serclips with a key attached to do them up with and the other was a light you can plug into the pc. So thats three pressies he has had this week with the assortment of gins I found too.

I hope Matthew and Kelsey are ok. I can understand how Janice would be worried about them. It seems like nowhere is safe to go to abroad lately.

Its good Rob has kept off the grass with the wheelbarrow Jane. I should think he is going to use the wood for a fire if he has covered it up with a tarp. It won't last long before he has to keep topping it up if is is as rotten as it looks.

I love Call the Midwife too but I do wish they would'nt keep going forward in time as I liked it when it was a bit more old fashioned. So two things to see on a Sunday now, that and Vera.

Still that horrid fine rain blowing in the wind here.

How's the knitting coming along Mandy. We will want to see pictures again you know.

All done then Jane. Gosh he did'nt hang about then but like we have all said it was so so dead and had been for a very long while. Can't wait to see the pictures.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 20 Jan 2018 15:17

Gosh Jane were'nt you lucky it did'nt land on the summerhouse!!

Gillx

Gillx Report 20 Jan 2018 16:39

It looked like the tree avoided all your plants so that was lucky. He didn't take long to take it all away did he Jane? When is your fence being sorted properly, did he say?
Hope Matthew and Kelsey are okay, do you know what the problem is yet? I haven't seen the news today so haven't heard anything.

I still haven't packed my books, I started to take a quick look at a book Sandra got me for Christmas on the 80's band QUEEN and before I knew it I'd read the whole lot. Needless to say I didn't get round to watching anymore programmes off the planner either. It was a brilliant book telling the story of how Queen started and of course when Freddie Mercury passed away. I'd forgotten that he told the press that he had AIDS on my 25th birthday, then sadly passed away the following day. Queen were never the same after that even though they tried to use someone else as their lead singer.

Well, I'd better go and pack these books up. Sorting through books is almost as bad as sorting through photo's, you never seem to get on with it as you spend lots of time looking rather than packing them up and I really should watch a few more programmes before I run out of space on the planner. See you all later.

Still raining and the forcast for tomorrow is more rain. When will it ever stop??????? or will it?

You must keep out the book you get interested in and carry on packing the others Gill.

Jane

Jane Report 20 Jan 2018 19:34

Matthew and Kelsey are 45 miles away from Montego Bay where the problem is so they should be fine :-D Relief all round :-D
There was no way the tree could have come down on the summerhouse Mel ( thank goodness)It probably looked closer in the pic. Not sure when or what will happen with the fencing yet Gill.

Gill I dont know what is going on in Jamaica other than shootings and stabbings in Montego Bay area, but I dont know why. Maybe Gangs/Drugs. Who knows .

Meatballs and Spag again for us tonight. We only had that last week !. But I just couldnt think what else to do and there was the meatballs staring at me from the freezer . Problem sorted :-D

Morning all

We have a few flakes of snow at the moment but it's melting as soon as it hits the ground so I didn't bother waking Sandra up. I had problems with my laptop last night and couldn't shut it down, it finally played nicely around 3am, needless to say I had a late night last night.

I watched the news last night Jane, it's sounds really bad with all those gangs. Pleased to hear Matthew and Kelsey are far away from all the trouble. I think Janice will probably be less worried when they are both home safely. When are they due back?

I took your advice Mel and have put some books to one side that I want to look at so I can put the rest in boxes. I came across a few books I got for Christmas in 2016 that I hadn't read. I wondered where they were and found them yesterday so will be looking forward to finally reading them. It sounds like we're both finding present we bought for our OH's I must remember if I buy anything early to put it all together this year, so nothing is lost again.

Nothing much planned for today just carrying on with all my sorting. Our bungalow is starting to look a right mess with empty boxes everywhere and my belongings out waiting to be sorted, so I'd better get on with it so I can see my bungalow again ;-) ;-)

What is everyone else up to today?

Frank

Frank Report 21 Jan 2018 11:26

Good morning all,

Well Sandra should be down here Gill, snow everywhere, and it's sill snowing with large flakes. JJ went out at 7.30 for a wee, and came in covered in snow. I towled him off and he got the wind up his bum. Dashing up and down the lounge with his toys. He's how lying on the back of the chair in the window, watching the snow.

Roast Beef today. I have done all the Veg. Carrots, Runners, Cauli, Broccoli. Parsnips ready to par boil with new Challote potatoes, which I will crush lightly and roast in the oven, with herbs and olive oil. Still have the Yorkshire and CHEESE SAUCE to make.

Ros has showered and washed her hair. She is sitting under the dryer as we speak.

I will hav to get Lewis to send me a SELFY so I can forward it to you all. Thanks for wanting to keep in touch with his growing up. !!!

Poor Jan and Jo have to drive back to Paignton this afternoon. I expect the main roads and motor ways will be clear. But still not a nice journey.

Thanks for the photo's Jane, I would still love to know what he is going to do with it. ??

JJ just went to the door of the conservatory, I opened it and opened the door to the green. He took one look and turned tail and went back in the lounge. Can't call him stupid
:-0 :-0 :-0 :-0

Still unable to get CATCH UP on the Tele. Jonathan is suppose to be coming round to sort it out. But I can't blame not wanting to come out in this weather.

I hope you are not having to much snow, APART from Gill, for SANDRA Lol xxx

Gillx

Gillx Report 21 Jan 2018 11:44

The snow was only light and has now stopped, so Sandra missed it. Hope Jan and Jo have a safe journey back to Paignton.

So JJ is fascinated by the snow then Frank, maybe he didn't want to go out again as he now knows how cold it is to run in ;-) ;-)
Your meal sounds nice, pleased to see you have your appetite back again. How many pints each day are you on now, didn't you say you need to reduce them each week?

When you mentioned Ros under her hair dryer it reminded me of the birthday card I bought you. Did it make you laugh? I thought about the noise from Ros's sewing machine and hair dryer when I saw it and hoped you'd see the funny side to it :-D ;-)

Afternoon all,

Lucky begger Frank getting some snow.............................

Its just continual rain here and the chickens are still paddling in their mud bath.

We have had the leccy off this morning as oh had to move some plugs up in the loft as they would be under the lagging.

Hope Jan and Jo have a good journey back down here anddon't meet with any floods. The ground can't take the watedr thats coming down all the time. There is even water coming UP the mole holes in the chicken run.

Good girl Gill putting the books you want to look at to the side and getting the others packed away.

Its good to know that Matt and Kelsey are 45 miles from the troubled area but I bet Janice still can't wait for them to be home. When are they due back Jane?

Did we hear from Ann yesterday? Hope she's ok. <3

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 21 Jan 2018 13:13

I wonder what Mandy has knitted now? She is so quick with those needles.

I worked on my craft last night and got on quite well. I just love ivy leaves and thats what I have been making in felt. Tops for something else.

Must start the breakfast now. I can hear sawing going on in the loft. He is making the area around the hatch safe for me to be able to get up there. I have to have a step as the flooring is a foot higher than where you come through the hatch so not good for my little legs.
