Afternoon all,

Misty here and it doesn't look like it's going to clear over the next few days ,I'm sure at the weekend the weather was sunny for today .
I've had a good morning giving the bedrooms a good hoover and dust ,I haven't done it since before Christmas so it badly needed doing, I hoovered the stairs and then Colin hoovered downstairs so we're nice and clean now.

Vera thank you for the recipe ,I could have sworn you said it was Apricot cheesecake ,this one was Lemon but it sounds lovely so I'll be giving that a go when I can get a lemon jelly .

Done some washing and its been out on the line since this morning but dos'nt seem any drier than when it went out so I shall bring it in and it will have to go on the airers but should smell nice with a bit of cold air through it. Ita still bitterly cold out there even though the suns out but its so low in the sky this time of year.

Dusted the bedroom and cleaned the little loo. Had lunch and I am just going to go and corn the chickens. We've had sun all day blue sky and no clouds but the heavy mist this morning did'nt lift till about 10.05 am when the sun eventually burnt it off.

Can't get in touch with St. Hope he's ok......

Going to wash my hair after corning the chickens as I have my bloods tomorrow morning.

I went to the U3A main meeting as my friend was going and offered to give me a lift..
The talk was on the real meaning of nursery rhymes. It was interesting and none of them are how they seem.

Yes its quite rightening really when you know what they were really about.

Stu rang while I was washing my hair over the bath and said to come to his for dinner so off I went. He did a chilli and rice and it was very nice.

Watched the film on Film 4 about the life of the cat artists Louis Wain and it was very good but also very sad.

Frosty again but at least its dry and its 3 degrees and pc says mostly cloudy.

Today is the day when they are going to turn the leccy off at some point to do the new poles and lines etc so I hope its not off for long with my two ponds on a very cold day.

I also have my MOT today at the docs so must get on.

Very foggy here but no frost don't think it should clear all day so another dull dark day.
Not sure what I'm doing today the two bathrooms need a good clean and I might make a cake .

Grey and murky but not as foggy as last week. At the moment it’s 5 degrees but I haven’t put my nose outside yet to see what it really feels like.

Mandy I might have misunderstood which recipe you wanted. I probably said I had been making lemon cheesecake but mentioned that I used to make an apricot one though I haven’t made it for years. I’ll look through all my recipe folders when I get a moment and dig the apricot one out for you.

I have read the posts but won’t be staying on here any longer as I am still not sleeping much and my head and eyes are not good at the moment. We are going to our usual Thursday coffee meet and then daughter and granddaughter are coming at 2 pm for a couple of hours.

I think the sun is burning the fog off here but it is only 0 degree out there so not going out.

Vera hope the coffee meet doesn't make your head worse, especially as you will want to have a good chat with daughter and granddaughter. I hope your daughter is coping ok. I can't remember when the funeral is/was (if you ever told us). Until that has passed she won't be able to start rebuilding her life.

Back from the doc's and the leccy is back on now. When I went in at just before 11am and registered she said my appointment was not till 2.15pm. Why on earth did I think it was 11am? What a ninny I need'nt have rushed about.

Hope you are ok for the coffee meet Vera and enjoy your visit with daughter and granddaughter. I hope she is coping ok in this difficult time. Ann and I know just what she is going through.

I smelt bacon on the way home so I think its a bacon butty for an early lunch and a nice hot drink.

By the way we have sunshine and blue skies, sorry for those who are having a dark dingy day but when you get the sun I get dark days it seems.

We'll probablyget the fog tonight as it hangs over the grass when the suns been out during the day. We had for last night it was hard to drive back from Stu's.

Did a wash while the sun is out and now I am going to put it on the airer as it won't dry outside now.

Just fixed the bath shower. Got the old leaky pipe off and put another one on but it is'nt as tidy as the old one as this one is covered in plastic. Its off the old shower I think. Theen I have sewn the zip back at the bottom of a fleece so thats working better now when I try to do it up. Thats 2 jobs off the long list.

Evening All,

A foggy start here but it brightened up later and a weak sun came out.

Yesterday and today I was Nurse Gladys administering eyedrops every hour and an added 3 times with different drops. Since lunchtime today we are down to every 2 hours with the main drops which is better and I think we have 3 days doing that and then it's every 3 hours etc! The daft thing is, the hospital haven't given him enough eyedrops to last the course when we worked out how many more doses he needs compared with how many he has had so it looks like I will have to drop him off at the hospital again next week to get more. Yet he has way more than enough of the other eyedrops! They are doing the trick though which is the main thing! Tomorrow he has a meeting at Grantham where he will be giving an opinion on some things, so he is going to do his own if he can.

Yesterday I had a call from Anglian wanting to give us a quote for more work! I said not while we still have problems with the door, so he's booked an engineer to come again! I still wouldn't have them again though.

I hope you get a good night's sleep Vera. These migraine headaches are so draining. I hope you enjoyed your coffee meet and meet up with family. Is your daughter managing to work her way through all the tasks that have to be done at these times and just when you really may not feel up to it. I realised the other day that OH is mostly paperless now with some payments and he has auto renew on some subscriptions. I said to him that we need to do a list for each other, so we both know what would need cancelling or swapping to the other if anything happened to either of us, as there would be no paper reminders in the post.

I need to do some HW too Mandy, but other things keep cropping up that need doing. Did you bake a nice cake? :-)

I remember being shocked at the meaning of Ring a ring of roses AnnG. Some nursery rymes are quite gruesome for a child really, all that chopping tails off mice!

Mel fancy you getting your appointment time wrong! I have to check and double check things these days as things go clean out of my head. Well done getting those jobs done. It makes you feel better doesn't it!

I can't decide whether to go to the factory shop first thing tomorrow while I get chance with not being on eyedrop duty after 8.00am when OH sets off. He gets a free lunch too so I only need to feed myself. I could call in a garden centre on the way back and have a late, small brekkie. I'll see how tired I am first as I might have a bad night.

I think I got muddle with my appointment with the toe doctor in March thats ususally 12noon and he changed it to 11am. That must have been on my mind but I got a nice lot done today with going early.

good morning all. that was the worst night I have had in months. Just recently, since New year really, I have been sleeping really well. I was awake the whole of last night, just laying there, no reason. Just managed about 40 minutes after 6am. It is going to be a long day. Good job I have no plans.

Quite bright here this morning and its 8 degrees with not much wind.

I think I must have slept for you Anng as I got up just as the sun was rising and the sky to the east wasbeautiful, went back to bed and wok again and it must have been about ten as I lay there for a while and when I got up it was 10.24am. We have blue sky but theres a lot of clouds in it.

As I came out to make my coffee and I went to blow my nose I had a nose bleed so am being very gentle with it at the mo, I shal have to put some cream up it so BBL.
