Fiona I hadn't realised the Scottish 1911 census hadn't been released until now. How exciting though to look for and find your ancestors. I seem to think buying a few credits at a time doesn't seem so expensive, somehow!! I must start looking for OH's family in 1911.

Jane I have PM you.

Just a quick post to say that we are now babysitting for Hazel whilst daddy goes back to hospital. DIL,s mum has been around for the last few days helping so she has had a break since we arrived. Don,t think we will stay for long once they are home as they will all want some time together to adapt.
Frank I hope you are feeling better soon .
Going to watch the football now

Evening all. (Bending at the knees)

How are you all tonight.???

Mandy, It would be a good idea to look on Ebay at some of the same things you have to sell, and see what people are asking for theirs.
You might get a surprise, also it there is any gold/silver take it to a jewellers and see what they offer. THEN DOUBLE IT TO SELL IT. When I was selling my bracelet, some of the better jewellers in the Town were offering £450/475. I sold in on line for almost £800. so don't sell to the locals.!!!!

The last boot sale I went to was in Gt Yarmouth about 15 years ago. We went for a look round as we hsad time to kill, and it was a nice day. It was when Conrad weas working down there and we wewnt down for a weekend.

Lets hope you are right about tomorrow Jane, I could do with a bit of sun on my back.!!! and I need to get the "VEG GARDEN"(where the chickens were) sorted and seeded, and get the potato's in.

Ros's little family is growing by the day. We now have nine chicks and four part done and six bunnies. I bet by the time they need them, there will be a couple of dozen of each.

I am away to my bed now.I have felt not quite up to par today.Lots of achy joints.Mind you scrubbing out the shower hasn't helped lol
Night Night everyone.I hope Baby Lucy and her Mum have a peaceful night, and that all is well for them to go home tomorrow.
See you all again in the morning.

I am still hoping Katherine Grace pops in again.I really would love to get in touch re the Mankiewicz family.

Good morning All,

so nobody missed me yesterday. Got up early and OH had to go out and get the pipe thingy for the digger. He said when he came back he would take me to Holsworthy to get my chicken food and a bit of shopping. In the farmers shop he was looking at the chain saws as ours had died last year. There was a nice St*l one in there so I treated him to it. Another new toy to play with!! Still (pun) we do need one with all the trees we hae in the garden. We have had one he cut down leaning against the wall for over a year because the chain saw died. That is now all cleared away and burnt on the tree stump which is gradually disappearing in the middle. It was raining all day yesterday so we could'nt really do anything outside.

Then he took me off to the garden center for lunch so I was'nt going to say no.

When I got back I was trying to help someone with there tree and worked on it till 7pm.

Anne so glad baby Lucy Florence has arrived at last!! Mum and baby can now get to know each other better. Hope they had a good night.

Ann that is two flat batteries this week. OH's was flat and he did'nt know why, at least you knew the reason for yours, to OH it is still a mystery............................................he must have left soemthing on that flattened it.

Well it is brighter today and the sun has just come out so I think some work is in order.

Afternoon All,

It is a beautiful day here now, lovely sunshine. We have done our rock stint in the garden for today, daren't do too many at once as they are so heavy and I won't be able to do any tomorrow if I do the old back and knees in. OH provides the weight lifting and earth moving I do the fitting together and final adjustments. Lol

Mel, of course we missed you! I'm keeping on your OH's good side I think.....guns, chainsaws!!

I'm off on another Camellia hunt now at another local place, well it's more of a nursery and tea shop really, but they have good plants and ones you don't see elswhere. They also have 2 gorgeous Springer Spaniels. Roof down and shades on I think, well I'm assuming the car will start! OH has gone out so I can't borrow his car this time! Then later on while OH is at a meeting I think I will follow Frank with the old clothes on and a bit of planting of seeds!!

Afternoon everyone,

Lovely sunshine here now after a very cloudy and cold start to the day .

Hope mother and baby had a good night and will be home today .

Frank, i had a look on ebay ,there is a little glass and silver topped Match Striker Boot like the one i have ,i'll keep a watch on it i think it has about six days to go yet , although i'll probably forget !!!

I knew you were about yesterday Mel , as i saw you on one of the look up threads !! think it was the Swift one .

Poor Fiona, you always seem to have the wet and windy weather ,enjoy all your coffee's !!

Planted a lot of my seeds the other day , Tomato's , Busy Lizzie's, Petunia's, Marigold's, Gazania's and Sweet Peas, also got some Cany Tuft tp plant out too.

Went to the car boot ,nothing much there ,well not for me anyway , DIL didn't get anything either , its her birthday today ,we gave her some money so she can get what she wants ,also got her a chunky Bracelet and i did her some flowers in a vase wrapped up with some of that pretty florists cellophane , i'am hooked on that paper i think i'll use it every time now ,much cheaper than buying ordinary wrapping paper ,and you can just wrap the presant in a little tissue paper first so you carn't see whats inside !!!

Really should get on with my ironing ,got another big pile ,where does it come from !!! there's only us two !! but i might have a read of my book first LOL

Hi Everybody,
Phew what a day !!!

Walked into town and it was just drizzle but by the time I got to to the coffee shop I had battled with my brolly against torrential wind and rain and I was SOAKED, from my knees down my jeans had soaked up all the rain and I had to sit for an hour & half very uncomfortable , good job I was drinking hot coffee, I got a lift home thank goodness.
Jane I am jealous, would love a bit of sunshine, it's not cold here and I think the weather is to get a little better from tomorrow,

JANE thank you I got the book in the post this morning, it looks good looking forward to reading it.

Need to get some lunch , BBL

Hi All,

Have got three bathroom mats on the line and the sun is still out. Back door open wide and just been havig a hoover. OH is out tonight so that means I can watch the new serial on the telly at 9pm BBC2. The Crimson Petal and The White. Old fashioned and I usually like that. It has four parts.

When the sun shines it makes you want to do things. Needless to say it shows up the dust and cobwebs though.

Mandy your ironing all comes from the fact that you don't do it as you are reading your book. Do a little ironing at a time and then have a read.

I wrote this post about 15 mins ago and never posted it!!

I must be going mad.

AFTERNOON ALL,

Just come in from the garden. Not even washed my hands. dirty little devil.

Potted on a load of "MONEY MAKER" today, together with some more plug plants. Set four rows of potato's Dug out a big plant that the winter had, and dug the whole area. Planted two Blackberry thornless bushes. put up netting for them to grow up. watered the greenhouse and patio pots. Now going for a shower and shave, and relax for an hour.

Ros had poped over to see her friend (the saturday shopper) it's her birthday. We will get dinner for about 7.00. Then I might go down the pub and watch CHELSEA V MAN UTD. Comes on you BLUES. I might even have a couple of pints.

Mucky Pup Frank. What colour are the keys???.I have done some weeding of nettles.I jumped off the brick wall (it's only a couple of feet high) ,landed and my knees gave way and I ended up falling backwards into the Choisia (sp) lol
I'm so glad nobody saw me as It was quite unlady like lol
I made a crumble ,and the smell was lovely wafting out through open door into the garden.Apple and Blackberry.

I hope all is well with Baby Lucy and her Mum and that will now be home again. What a lovely sunny day to leave hospital.

I took too much out of the freezer for dinner.I though Hannah was here but she is not home 'till late. One thing was a Lasagne.I couldn't refreeze it so I rang Fitz to see if he had anything planned for his Mums meal.Luckily he hadn't ,so 1 lasagne has gone off down the lane instead of in my bin.
I don't know what is up with Chester. He just won't settle down at all today. It must be something to do with the doors being open .I am surprised he is not dizzy as he has just been in and out like a YoYo.He looks like he has lost the plot a bit.

Ann I was going PM you this but thought I would put it here just in case Katherine Grace is looking in(I still can't contact her)
George Mankievwicz and Emily Ranger married in IRELAND Dublin in May 1896.I am pretty sure the witness s were not related.I wonder if they were picked of the street??.It was just before Edie moved in with them!!!!!
Fitz was so chuffed with himself as it was him who discovered this lol
