Good morning all,

I am a bit pis### off. I posted twice yesterday, and for some reason, I must have caught something, and lost the lot. They were long posting and took ages to do.

Ros's hair looks great, more like her old self, I know she will be much happier with it.

So much for my day off yesterday. I cut the front lawn and trimmed all the edeges. Cleaned all the windows, including the conservatory. put in some plants, watered all round, got dinner . Showered and shaved and sat down at 7.30pm.

Today is definitely a no work day. I am going to have my shower (Still in dressing gown) and go for a walk down the canal. ending up at the pub for the football and a couple of pints.

Lewis and his mum and dad are here tomorrow for dinner, about 4pm so will do all the Veg in the morning Nice joint of LEG OF PORK. He will be with us all week. So will be kept busy.

SUCCESS FINISHED POSTING AND STILL ON SCREEN

Motning All,

Sunny here too and OH got the tree stump out yesterday. Gaud knows what he is going to do with it now!!! He has moved it along to where the bank was about 20 yards along from where it came out.

Happy Birthday Mr Fiona hope it's a good one and you enjoy your pressies.

Did more weeding on the border yesterday afternoon late. It is too hot to work up there while the sun is high as it's on the south wall. Bought three plants yesterday when I went up the shop. An Iris and an Astrantia from one lady with a stall out and a beautiful dark mauve Aquilegia from my neighbour who buys my eggs. She has three dogs and they all have a scrambled egg for breakfast every day.

Frank glad Ros is pleased with her hair this week.

Mags Join the clan with the bad hip!!

Waiting for someone to come for some ringing certificates OH has printed for him. There is the Winter Knockout comp. in Buckland Brewer today.

I am joining Frank.....got my shorts on ,but not going topless lol.Mind you it is warm enough.Chester is under the dining table snoring his head off.Chris is going to do the lawn soon.He just took off the fleece on one of the veg patches and the soil is just so dry,so a good hosing I think later.Chester will get so excited when he sees that as he loves a good soaking.
Mandy I thought you might be off to the coast today.I bet it will be heaving though.

I had a letter this morning to say I have missed my Mammogram appointment.I feel terrible as I have cost the NHS £113 for a missed appointment.I knew it was this month but thought it was in a week or so.I can't find the original letter so think it has been chucked out by mistake.
Must remember to ring and make a new one
The chickens are making a heck of a racket next door.Mel do they make that awful squawking when they lay?
Just off to have a bite of lunch now

Afternoon All,

Happy birthday to your OH Fiona.......yes it is as warm here!! lol Lovely weather for your OH's birthday though.

Oh Jane, don't you feel awful if you forget an appointment. I have forgotten a dentist appointment in the past. (probably trying not to think about having to go!) Mind you, my hairdresser sends text reminders the day before now, but last time THEY forgot to send one. I ended up thinking I must have the wrong day because I hadn't heard from them and had to phone them to make sure!!! lol I can just imagine Fitz turning up with his lunch and a bottle to share!! lol

I was so shattered when I got home after plodding around the shops yesterday that when I got home and walked through the door I said to OH that I needed headache tablets, a cuppa, beans on toast and to be in my nightie flopped on the bed. I got changed and took the tabletsand in he walked with a cuppa and the beans on toast on a tray!! More brownie points.......he's gone to Hyde to footie with 2 mates today and has just phoned to say he's been asked to do the radio report with Radio Leicester later. It's a good job he's started carrying a pad and pen in the car.

Mandy........it'll soon be spa time if this weather keeps up!!

I bet Ros is much happier Frank.......we ladies like our hair to be right......good to have tried something different though.

Just WATCH YOUR STEP down that canal path!!! lol Will you be coming back along it after a few pints!!!! Don't want you ending up A* over T* again. lol

Hip pain is horrid Mags. I found a hot bath helped a lot when they were achey.

Shirl, the cabbage roses are very old varieties that look a bit like cabbages rather than pointy. I forgot about the Canadian winters!! I looked at those 2 varieties you mentioned and they are both lovely and importantly very hardy! Your no 2 son sounds like Desperate Dan and his Cow Pie! lol

On the memories front, did anyone else have plastic bathroom tiles? I remember dad putting some pale blue ones up when they first came out. I also remember getting it in the neck for firing a rubber sucker arrow onto them and pulling it off.....with a piece of the tile!!

Ann have sent tree stump pics.

Forgot to say OH got too near the fire putting some stuff on it this morning!! He has singed his hair on the left side and his eyebrows!! He told me that was why he always tells me not to go too near the fire as it can leap out at you. Trust an ex fireman to know all the tricks and still be caught out. He is not quite so agile as he was when he was younger nad thinner.

Jane Report 9 Apr 2011 15:50

Lol Ann,he is saved an eyebrow tidy then !.Naughty you spoiling the new bathroom with your arrow.I do seem to vaguely remember plastic tiles, but not sure where from.
Knees and hips seem a real problem with us all at the moment.Last night I woke with a really bad pain in my knee.It felt like a red hot poker going through the side (inner side).I had to come down and get some paracetamol ,and then about an hour later it was still painful so had to traipse down again to get Brufen. It's strange that pain happens at night and not in the daytime.
Don't laugh now ,but Chris says he has pulled a muscle in his cocking arm.(cocking the gun) lolol
Mel will have a look to see pics.

Got lots of jobs done in the garden ,hubby's been San*texing his shed round the back then he'll be able to put all his truck back !!!!you name it, he has it !!

Don't think we'll be going to the coast this weekend Jane , would have been nice but hubby's got some more Creosoting to do , probably be a job to park , bet there been people in the sea too, they'll all have colds next week .

Ann, your right if this weather keeps on the Spa will be put up !!
But i see we might be having a Sand Storm !!! coming over from Africa ,if we get that we'll all have the beach in our gardens !! lol

Don't remember having plastic tiles in the bathroom, but we did had those Polystyrene Tiles on the ceiling in the lounge !!!what a fire hazard!!!
No smoke alarms in those days !!

I heard something about Sahara Sand Mandy.I remember a few years ago when everything here was covered in a sandy stuff,That was from the Sahara. It is a bit mind boggling really to think that particles of sand can be carried that far on the wind.

MEL!!!! that was one heck of a tree stump lol.I certainly didn't imagine it to be that big.
Still a lovely evening here ,although getting a bit cloudy. My shorts are still on lol

5.48pm

Have just come in from conservatory, been listening to football, between sleeping. Had a lovely walk this morning, took me 2 hours. meet five different people and had a chat. Got to the pub just in time for KO. It's only 5 minutes up the road to home, so no canal stumble. lol lol Nearly got RUN OVER this morning. The path ran out, so I crossed the road to walk facing the traffic. A car came round a bend far to fast, traffic coming up behind me had to brake so hard, smoke came off the tyres. The car that almost hit me just pulled round me and drove off as though I was in the wrong. I had a few choice words for him, which he didn't hear. One car driver coming up behind me did stop to check I was allright. I could see me in the A & E. and I haden't had a beer. !!!

Poor Frank a nasty experience that, nearly getting plastered to the ground before having your pint!

Gave the climbing rose a hair cut this afternoon. Not OH yet.

Sausages and chips and onion rings for tea as thats quick and easy and I may get away with that. Oh and curried beans.

Also cut back a hydranger out by the Fairy Garden at the side of the new pond. My hosta's in pots are shooting too so I shall soon have a nice show of those and the Heucheras are giving a nice bit of colour.

I fancy everyone else's tea!!! lol

You did well to get that stump into 2 bits Mel. At least it is out of the way now it's in the ditch.

Frank, how awful for you, nearly being turned into a hedgehog. Silly idiot driving like that!! They are just the same around here. I came home down one of the winding lanes last night and they come down it far too fast, can't get around the corners on their own side of the road, but give you the black looks when they have to brake or swerve. Nice that someone stopped to check you were ok though.

What a lovely day it has been , warm and sunny, spent most of it in the back garden relaxing on a lounge chair, watching OH mend his bike,

stayed out till 5.00 then it went chilly so we went into make tea- spaghetti Bolognese (sp) now family playing golf on Wii and I am going for a bath.

Has some good news today, my BIL won £150 on the Grand National. he was out with friends this afternoon, so I bet there won't be much of that money left when he gets home tonight lol

Frank you had a lucky escape today, would have been awful if you had landed up in hospital.

I'm going for my bath now, so I may be back on later,
