Morning Mel we have another lovely day here too, so I have decided I will go to the evening service at church tonight instead of this morning, want to enjoy this sun while we have it.
windows all open and back door as well as I have just washed the kitchen floor, want it to dry so I can put the washing out when the machine stops. OH at home this week so I only need to iron a few shirts at the moment.
JANE, OH is always fixing one thing or another with his bike, it's either a puncture or he's lost a light or something else, after the bad winter we have had the roads are terrible full of pot holes so even though he tries to avoid them he is bumping along and bits of bike get bumped about and often fall of and lost.
If this weather continues nice I will have to dash out and get some light weight summer trousers. non of last years fit me TOO BIG. as Frank would say MORE EXPENCE, but I like spending the money and you have to have clothes. don't you ???

Another lovely day but maybe not quite as warm as yesterday.Chris is just back with Chester and says there is Rape as far as the eye can see just coming into flower.I really hate being surrounded by the stuff. It gives me that same kind of ache at he back of my nose and behind my eyes like Lillies.
Well I think I had better get myself dressed.I have just done potatoes and veg ready for later so they are out of the way.

BIL gone now. He came for eggs for his friend and wanted a doz and a half. I only had a doz down here . Went round the chickens but they had'nt laid yet so I had to go up to the table to see if they had sold on there. My toe has locked up today and has'nt freed itself yet. I had to hobble up to my car which is parked right up by the top wall as OH was doing the tree stump and drive up to the front and there was just a half doz on the table. Few.............

I remember my sister's screams when she was little and put her arm against the iron Fiona. She had the pattern of the thing burnt on !!!.I hope your burn doesn't stay too painful for long. It's painful enough when you just catch a tip of a finger on the iron.
Well I am now too hot so will have to go and put something cooler on again lol We can hear someone else with an air rifle.I think it may be 2 doors up.I wonder if they have the same problem !!!!! Chris has put the hair down that I brought back from the hairdressers near to where the rabbits are coming in.It'll be interesting to see if it has any effect.
Mel which of your toes has 'locked'?I can just picture you hobbling all the way up to your little table!
Oh I do wish I was by the sea with this lovely weather.I quite fancy sitting up on Plymouth Hoe looking out over the Sound watching the little yachts and the bigger ships. All that lovely sparkling water and a gentle sea breeze. I will just have to 'Dream On' lol

Afternoon everyone, Another lovely one , hubby's getting on with the Creosoting ,the family came for coffee so that stopped him for a while ,i think he only has one more panel to do then he's off out the front to do the railings there.
Wanted to have the Barbeque out from the shed but hubby has a load of windows in there for a customer in front of it so we carn't get to it .
Hubby likes the motor racing ,but the noise of the cars going round gives me a headache ,i already had a headache when i woke up,i came down at 5.30 this morning to have some tablets ,i did manage to nod off again ,and when i woke up it had gone ,i must have been in a deep sleep.
It's a pinch when you catch yourself on the iron Fiona , hope it's not to bad and you don't get a nasty blister ,i catch myself on the oven shelves sometimes .
Well better sort some lunch out , Bacon sarnies i think . BBL 12.41

Mandy I reckon most of us have brown scar marks on our wrists or forearms from getting something from the oven.I always remember Mum having them too.I can swear like a trooper when that happens lol Shame you can't reach the BBQ.I bet there will be loads of them all over the country today .Just imagine the wonderful smell!Mmmm. Chris and I will be having Pork Loin Steaks with Roasted new potatoes, carrots, parsnip, turnip and courgettes in olive oil and Thyme.I think it's so easy to bake it all on one tray.Less pans for one thing.I better start thinking of putting in all in the oven.It won't take any longer than an hour ,so will aim to eat about 2pm.

I remember one christmas ,mum asked hubby if he would get the tin with the gravy in from the oven , well you know what men are like, he tried to get it out quickly, pulled the tin forward and the gravy sloshed forward in the tin and then backwards , all over his slippers !!!! and all over the floor , we spent ages clearing up before we could sit down for our christmas dinner lol luckily he didn't get a gravy burn !!lol
Jane, you could have done your Pork Steaks on the Barbie and all your veg in a tin , i never buy Turnips ,i do buy swede's ,lovely mashed with carrot and plenty of butter . This time of the year all you can smell outside is when people are having a Barbie or cutting the grass!!!
Bacon sarnies were good ,had a hot cross bun too !! 1.47

We haven't got a Barbie Mandy.I think it got chucked out on the skip last year.It was a bit Manky lol I stocked up on anti histamines this morning. But one get one free!.All the blossom and grass cuttings are starting to have effect with sneezes and stuffy noses.(and that is just Chester) lol
Hannah has just turned up after leaving here on Friday to go to work. She went to see The 39 Steps on Friday evening and then last night was celebrating a friends birthday in St Albans. Not looking forward to this coming week as she should get the final answer as to if she is allowed to sell the house.I just have a gut feeling the mortgage people will say no.So it will mean she will have to have the house reprocessed .I was awake half the night last night thinking about it. The next thing will be moving the furniture out to here!!!!!!!!!!!.Lord knows where it will go.I think I will need a chill pill lol
Just off to dish up.....I'm starving!!!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone Another glorious day in North Yorkshire. We are having such a busy weekend but all is good. Mum and baby doing well as far as we know although we have not heard any news today. On friday evening we went to a supper party in aid of the NSPCC and we were able to have drinks outside until the sun went down, just like being abroad. Yesterday hubby was at a conference and I was helping at a coffee morning which was very successful and I think we raised over £600 for local charities. We had a BBQ tea and then went to see a play at our local Forum. Today we are relaxing at home and intend having a more relaxed BBQ later. I must say folks that I love the motor racing and I was up and breakfasted before it started this morning.I have been to Silverstone in days gone by and have visited several of the tracks around Europe including driving at Le Mons and Monaco( ok that was in an ordinary car in ordinary traffic but wonderful all the same) If I was still in my youth I would love to have a go in a racing car but I do not think I could get in and out ( I recently got stuck in a glider cockpit on the simulator and it took 3 men to get me out) Beef and sausage on the BBq so better get organised.

The bloo## thing has happened again, 15 minutes posting up the creek. What am I doing wrong. Anyway what a smashing day, haven't seen that much of it as I have been busy preparing dinner. The Roast pork is on, and smelling wonderful. Veg today consists of nrew potatos in mint and butter, Roast Pots and parsnips. also roast sweet potato. fresh peas, baby carrots, swede, cauli, broccolli Apple sauce, cheese sauce and gravy. The sweets are ready for the oven but I don't think anyone will want them.
I have burnt my hand more times than I want to remember on the oven, Have to ever tried taking a dish straight from the oven with out gloves, DON'T TRY IT. it hurts. for days.
Slightly cooler this afternoon, and more cloud this way.
Anne, Working for a local Rove# dealer for many years we often had drive days at Silverstone, It's only about seven miles from where I live.
Hannnah is getting a real old stop out Jane, but at her age why not,!!!!

Boiled ham tonight for us.
Frank I have done that getting a tin out the oven with no oven gloves on, and yes it does bl**dy well hurt and you let go very quickly!!!!!!!!
I am haveing trouble copy and pasteing things on peoples threads. I have just noticed that the first page no. is bigger than the rest and am wondering if this is the cause???
It happened this morning after I had posted on someones thread. I have tried turning the pooter off and then restarting it again but it has made no difference.
When I do a census return for someone it comes out miles long!! and nothing is in the right place.
May try it here and see what happens.

There was a racing car at Tes** earlier in the week from Santa Pod.(that's not far from you Frank I think ).I could not believe how long the car was. Anne were you in a Glider Simulator because you were trying out for the real deal?I always think it must be amazing to be up in a Glider .Just silent with no engine noise and floating.I would love to do that but just don't have the guts. There is not a breath of wind outside. It is so still. Not a leaf moving at all. Mel I bet your Brie and Bacon Sarnies were delicious.Frank ,it always me chuckle when you say you do cheese sauce with a roast!.I have never done cheese sauce with roast ,nor mashed potato.
Good to hear Baby Lucy and Mum are doing well.
We are all fed and watered here now.Dishwasher on .So all done and dusted !

Anyone help? I am trying to find out anything about my Uncle Jan.He was Aunty Betty's hubby in Bideford(not sure they were actually married) I think he may have been married to someone else. All I know is that his name was Harry Janaway and died in Bideford in 1968. It has bugged me for years not really knowing anything much about him.I think he may have had a couple of children from first marriage. He was 61 when he died. There has always been some mystery about his past.

Mandy ,that's all I could find(his death) As far as I know he was just Harry Janaway. There don't seem to be any more details about him.He always was a bit of a mystery.I know he was married before he got with Aunty Betty and I think had 2 children. If he did marry Betty her name would be Betty Coles.but I haven't found a marriage for them.I don't know where he was born ,but I imagine somewhere not too far from the London area.(I could be wrong of course)
