Just finished dinner and put dish washer on. I did chicken breasts wrapped in parma ham,new pots, carrots, and sprouters. and mash for Lewis, he won't eat pots, any other way.
I stood and watched Lewis on the driving range, considering he's only had two lessons, he hits the ball very well. You don't buy a "bucket" of balls any more, you put £1.00 coins in a machine which dispenses 25 balls at a time. !!!! hows times have changed.
Jane, I use to do all my drinking in the "DOLBEN ARMS" at Finedon, so I know where you are talking about. and I do remember the Communards.
I think Lewis will want to do to the club tonight. He likes a game of POOL, while I will sit and watch SPURS. Don't hold much hope for them tonight, but who knows, it's still a good excuse to have a pint or two.!!!!
Mandy, I bet that driver was well pee# off after that accident, and on the phone too.
Ros has complained about being cold all day, I have been sitting around with a bare chest. I don't think it's that cold.!!! MUST BE MY AGE>

Evening All,
We were up early this morning and out in the garden with old jumpers on it was so chilly. Still, we got a couple of hours in and had had enough before the rain started. MIL wanted another frame to match the one I put the little painting in so we went and got that and dropped it in on the way to another garden centre to look at some small fold up tables. Nothing was quite suitable......certainly don't want a glass topped one, asking for trouble with OH!! lol
Thanks for that Frank, I might do that to break up the fence area. I envy Lewis .......would love to whack some balls off a driving range. All I can manage is the pitch and putt. lol
You did well to get the staining done Mandy. I like doing that and seeing the woodgrain show up......bet it has smartened them up a treat. Not something you can do with the little ones around. Mind you I was painting the top of the fence once and the neighbour's cat kept jumping up and walking on it to see what I was doing. She wouldn't take the hint at all and every time I redid the bit she walked on she jumped up again!! I kept shoving her away and eventually she went..........right across the patio leaving paint pawprints all over it!!! lol Not a good day for that driver was it!
Mel, have you followed Jane's tip ?? Are you spreading OH's hair trimmings around the perimeter?? It would need to be cut very short I think. lol I find I'm sliding my serviette up over the tummy when I'm out. lol The lap isn't much use really is it......mostly under the table. lol

I use to like doing a jigsaw ,but it does make your back ache , those jigsaw rolls are good ,saves having to leave it out on a table that you need to use ,so easy to roll up .
Don't think i could tackle a Rabbit Pie !! You must get your tooth seen to Jane , its not going to get any better you know ,and there's nothing worse than tooth ache !!
Ann, the chairs and benches have come up a treat , i'am quite pleased with them , i usually get lots of runs !! i'am staining a small leanto shed next , it's were we store the little ones toys and the lawn mower , oh and there's a wheel chair in there too ,it belong to my dad , son said keep it you might need it one day !!! cheeky beg*er !! lol he said i;ll get some ramps and wheel you up into the back of hubby's van !!!
On another thread they were talking about Dandelions , does anyone remember being told not to pick them as they make you wet the bed .!!! seem to remember mum saying this ,and it did stop me from picking them as i didn't want to wet the bed lol but i loved the blowing Dandelion clocks !! and making Daisy Chains .
Loved the photo's of little Alfie , he's so cute and i could just give him a big cuddle . 8.22

Mandy I think I would say to your son if he's not careful he will be the one needing the wheelchair lolol. Dandelions are a well known Diuretic(makes you wee) lol.I haven't seen many around here for some time.I remember them tasting bitter when you licked your fingers after picking them.I think at our age we don't want anything that makes us wee more lol Talking of that where is Liz?I hope her OH is getting better with his problem. Sheila has been away for a while now.I wonder if she has gone to Wales to be with Jess and April with it being the holidays now. I don't think it will be long before I am off to bed.Chris has just gone up.He yawned from the minute he got through the front door tonight .
I have never played Golf Frank ,other than Crazy Golf.I think I might actually enjoy it.Would you be my Caddy? 20.47

Funny you mentioned the Dandelion clocks Mandy as OH and I were talking about them today!! The grass verges here are ablaze with them at the moment and they have replaced the daffodils. I hated getting the sticky white sap on my hands though. Then we moved on to talk about Buttercups and OH hadn't heard of putting them under your chin to see if there was a yellow glow that meant you liked butter.....he gave me one of those 'looks' as if I was pulling his leg. lol
Jane, you must bite the bullet (perhaps not!) and get that tooth sorted before it becomes a BIGGER job to do.
OH has gone to bed so I'm off too............early start on the garden again tomorrow! Thank goodness I'm meeting friends Friday and will get a break!
Night All xx

Just watched a program on adoption, poor little girl who was 9 years old in the last 3 years she has had 10 foster families, they couldn't cope with her temper tantrums, but the program showed how with a lot of help from her present foster family and therapy sessions she was finely adopted.
well I'm off to bed too OH travelling down to England tomorrow up at 5.45 for the 6.30 train then he will be back late tomorrow night.
so goodnight everyone. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Morning All,
Dull again here this morning.
Mandy you will have to wait and see what arrives. I shall probably post it off today. My car has to go in for MOT today and I don't know when I will get it back as it has to have ball joints and welding done. I have a small hole in the floor pan which has been there since I had the car!!
I too used to do the buttercup thingy and make daisy chains. We used to do them while out for the day fishing and see just how long we could make them. Was also told not to pick dandilions as they made you wet the bed. What about convolvulers. Holding a flower at the base you would say Grandfather, Grandfather jump out of bed and press the the green calex and the flower would pop out. We also made grass rings for our heads and put all sorts of wild flowers in them, clover and buttercups and daisy's and those little groundsel buttons.
Mandy you are talking about sticky buds, thats what we used to call them and again out with a fishing party would see just how many we could stick together in a ball. Theys are really burrs from a burdock plant and a devil to get out of your horses mane and tails as I am sure Ann will know! In fact a friend came with one of his thoughbreds the other week and that had burrs in it's forlock so they must grow in his field across they way to us. 9.25

Morning all those sticky ball things always used get stuck in my old dogs hair around his ears ,after he had been rummaging in the hedges.I would sit on the floor in the lounge and he would stretch out in front of me while I pulled them all out.The other place they would stick was on the feathery bits on the back of his legs.I used find it quite relaxing doing that.
Dull here but not too cold. There are men digging up the pavement outside next door.Something to do with water.I asked if it would affect us ,and thankfully it is just next door.
I am now going to ring the DENTIST!

Back from taking the car in and it seems I shall be without it of a day or two.
Not so cold here today wither and not raining at the mo. Was just wondering whether to put washing on the line or if it will be worth it? The roads not drying up the garden and if that dos'nt dry then the washing won't.

Morning all,
Jane, I use to play golf on a regular basis, At Kettering Golf club, down the bottom of the Headlands. Wellingborough at Harrowden, CORBY Priors hall, in fact on my travels I always had my golf clubs.
We have been invaded by another 15 ducks, 10 bunnies Thats whitout what Ros has to finish before tomorrow. She has worked so hard on them, compared to the other helpers. and tomorrow and Sauurday she will be busy selling them.
Her leg and back have been bad this week, The doctor has given her stronger pain killers, so it doesn't look like the injection did any good.
Jan and Conrad are coming down this afternoon, and we will go out for a Chinese this evening.
Hope the Dentist can sort you out Jane, nothing worse than jaw ache.
Mel, it's unusual for holes to appear in floor pans with the more modern car, How old is yours??
Where's our Liz, I hope things are OK with IAN.

Hi everyone. 11.52 Dull here but no rain as yet haven't been outside so not sure whether it is cold or not. just doing jobs around the house, and then going out to a family history meeting tonight, a speaker on local Scottish history is coming to speak , and I need to check about my visit to New Register House in Edinburgh at the end of this month to see if it is still going ahead, sometimes it's cancelled as the numbers for the bus is not enough. Need to get some more vouchers for Scotlandspeoples webb site at the meeting , they are sold at a reduce price, and I still have a lots of people to find on the 1911 census
lunch time and another coffee. BBL

Hi Everyone, Just to let you know that we're OK. Have been pretty busy with decorating and LOTS of tidying up!!!Bad news is that next door are back from their cruise! No, I didn't put any fishheads through their letter box Frank, I thought about it, but decided against. The good news is that Laura has finally contacted us, and seems a bit more agreeable!! Mark says 'til the next time'! but we live in hopes!! Ian has a hospital appointment tomorrow, his scar has puckered up in one place and causing a bit of pain, so we're seeing the surgeon to check it out. Next week he has to have a blood test, and then a hospital appointment on May 3rd to discuss the result with the Oncologist. Fingers crossed that it is normal, if so, we should be out of the wood so to speak, if not then further treatment will be the order of the day. We shall see. Poor old Millie is limping on her front paw. She was doing this about a year ago and the vet said she had Arthritis in her paw joint!! then it seemed to be better, but is now back again. The vet said to give her 1/2 Neurofen twice a day, and Glucosamine powder once a day, so have started her on both, hopefully we'll see an improvement. Weather damp and cold, an improvement at the W/end so they say. Time for lunch!

Dentist booked for the 19th !.Lets hope the tooth is alright until then.Mandy It feels like it is pulsating a bit,but not painful.
I just saw a RAT trot pass the patio door!!!!!!!!.Then my window cleaner came and when I mentioned it he said he had just seen one across the road.I have a horrible felling they may have come out of the pipes that were being dug next door earlier. It has given me the eebie jeebies. I will make sure I keep the back door shut for the rest of the day now.
Poor Millie Liz .That sounds like Chester and his limp.(which is ok now) Sounds like Ian will need a little snip to loosen some of that puckered scar.it must be pulling like mad. I'm pleased to hear that Laura has rung at last.It must make you both a bit less stressed . I need a cup of something so BBL 14.10

Good to see you Liz!! Hope the doc can sort out Ian's problem it must be awful for him where it is. So uncomfortable. Has he ridden yet? Good you have heard from Laura and that things are a bit better there.
Well it still has'nt brightened up here but it has'nt rained either so I think I may put the washing on the line for a while. There is no wind today so it may not dry much but will smell nice from being outside.
Jane I can see Chris now poised with the gun looking out for that rat. They jump about 18 inches in the air when you hit them!!
