Oh Jane , you don't want RATS coming in ,good job the weather is cooler or you might have had the door open !!!
I bet the men have disturbed them in the water pipes , i always have that fear of lifting the loo seat and seeing a rat in the water, with its beady eyes looking up at me LOL

Glad you got an appointment to have your tooth sorted ,not to long to wait .

David ,is it tomorrow Ellen has to go to the dentist ? hope she gets on ok ,do you go in with her as she is so nervous ?
Time for a cuppa

Mel he hasn't hit a rabbit yet,so I can't see him getting a rat lol.I hope those rats have found their way well away from here now. They must have come from that pipe.It is fenced off now ,so hopefully someone will come back tomorrow and finish the job and fill in the hole.I went to have a peek and it seemed a bit whiffy,so I'm guessing the men were working on the main drain .

I am just in the middle of putting together one of those mini patio greenhouses. It is on the floor in here as I didn't fancy fixing it up on the patio just at the moment lol

Hi All, is it me or is it cold today. I have a cold so maybe it's me, feel all shivery. It's probably all these changes in the weather, one minute it's shorts and sandals and the next it's back to boots and jumpers. I did enjoy all that lovely sunshine, sat in the garden all the time the sun was out, at least now I can get on with all the jobs I should have been doing.
Read a few of the posts, still got a problem with your tooth then Jane. I've got one of those mini greenhouses too but thought I'd leave it a bit there's still the threat of frost at night so will have to put up with all the little seedlings on bedroom sills for now.

Still no sign of sunshine here either. I think it's is going to ger warmer by the weekend. Sun/Mon 20 degrees.

Mandy I don't think I have read that book. I'm not sure how many she wrote.

RATS. eh Jane. Chris will be a busy boy, sat at the window looking out for them. What with the rabbits as well, he won't have time for anything else !!!

How big is your mini greenhouse. I have one that hasthree shelves but it is only about 2 and a half foot high. Mum got it as a pressy when she bought something from Da*art I think. It is in the shed at the moment.

My teachers got a bunion,
A face like a pickled onion,
A nose liked a squashed tomato,
And legs like matchsticks.

Don't ask where that came from. I just went for a wee and found myself singing it!!

Mine sounds about the same size Mel, I've had it for ages and all the plastic is starting to split now, I looked on the internet to replace the plastic but it cost almost as much as the whole thing.

Happy Birthday to you
squashed tomatoes and stew
he looks like a monkey
and he smells like one too.

not my generation this one, it's something my kids used to sing.

My mini one sounds the same size (3 shelves).I am going to use it to keep my herbs in so they won't be eaten by mice or whatever nibbled my last lot lol.

Frank Chris says his arm hurts. It must be the way he presses the gun back or something. He even has some bruises !!.Wait 'till James comes home on Saturday. He will be 'on guard' no doubt from his bedroom window.

Maureen ,I was just looking at those pics of Alfi again. His paws are massive!!!

Jane Alfie was stretching his front leggs in that photo and so his paws were extended. My friends cat had 5 toes on his paws.

Mice or voles can get up into those little greenhouses under the bottom of the plastic cover. I put a half slab in the bottom of mine so it does'nt blow away in a high wind.

Maureen I knew

Happy birthday to you,
Squashed tomatoes and glue,
Bread and butter,
In the gutter,
Happy birthday to you.

Maureen Report 14 Apr 2011 17:04

Not as rude as mine then Mel ....lol.

Alfie has got quite big paws, isn't that a sign that he may one day grow up to be a big cat. My daughter thinks he will stay a kitten as he doesn't seem to be developing ..... if you know what I mean .......

Jane

Jane Report 14 Apr 2011 17:24

Mel thanks a bunch lol.I'll glue the sides down !!!.Good idea though putting a slab in the bottom.
I could see Alfie was stretching, but still think he has gert big paws.He looks lovely and such a character.

I have clean floors again.I cheated a bit by using some big floor wipes on the end of the mop as they really just needed a quick lick.
I got the window cleaner to clean the inside of my huge window on the stairs and the massive mirror on the wall that I just cannot reach, and I was fed up waiting for Chris to do them.I just can't stand on a ladder on the stairs as I feel I am going to topple off.
He is a lovely young chap who bought the business off the old chap who used to come.He was saying that the old cleaner gave up when his mum went into a nursing home as she was the one who did all the paperwork and money side.He is dyslexic and was getting into a right old pickle and was being ripped of by customers who took advantage of him by saying they had paid when they hadn't.I think that is dreadful.Anyway he moved to France and is now very happy.
Pasta and sauce with garlic bread and salad tonight. So easy peasy .

Tomorrow Chester is off to the vet for his booster.I forgot he hadn't had it done and we are 2 months late.I haven't told him yet lol

Jane Report 14 Apr 2011 17:37

Maureen ,I hope you feel better tomorrow.I always wonder too why it is always worse in the evenings.I can understand it being bad first thing in the morning but not the evening. There must be a reason. It makes you feel C**p doesn't it.

There doesn't seem to be a breath of wind outside. It is so still. We really need a good bit of rainfall here.Everything is just bone dry.We haven't had anything to speak of for ages.

Yes,I take her there and get as far as the dentist's chair Amanda, otherwise she wouldn't go.

She gets an anesthetic in her arm as she is terrified of the dentist going in her mouth.

The tooth's comming OUT tomorrow so it won't bother her again.

Jane

Jane Report 14 Apr 2011 18:45
