Ellen's much recovered after yesterdays adventure. Sore, but it was sore before she sat in dentist's chair. This soreness will fade. She is cheerier.
Having a surveyor look over my house on Tues morning for the potential buyer.Saw the semi detached bungalow we put an offer on advertised at nearly £20,000 more in todays local newspaper! Will have to contact solicitor and estate agent early Monday morning.
Changing your home is so demanding in so many ways.

Hi all, if you are still with us.##
So far Ros has sold £70.00 worth of goodies. They will be selling more Monday evening and Tuesday coffee morning.
So glad that City won today. They were the far better side !!!!
Annie get your gun, comes to mind JANE> good job it wasn't the GLASS greenhouse. (MORE EXPENCE)
Mel, Everytime we went to the coast, Ros would always bring back a boot full of pebbles. We have then all along the side of the conservatory, and around the fence. She can tell you where she got them. She got a stone of some sort, from every country when we went round the WORLD.
Hope little Alfie is O.K. He seems such a nice little thing.
I will say goodnight God bless, sleep tight.

Just done some more staining ,it really is warm out there .
Jane , i had to laugh at you shooting the hole in the green house LOL Here's the recipe for the cake , i must say it smells good !!!
Lumberjack Cake
2 apples, peeled and finely chopped 1 cup chopped dates 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda 1 cup boiling water 1cup sugar 1 egg 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 1/2 cups plain flour 125g Butter Pinch of salt Topping
* 6oz butter * 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed * 1/2 cup milk * 1/2 cup shredded coconut
Combine apples, dates, bicarb soda and water. Allow to cool to lukewarm.
Line an 8" 20cm deep cake tin. Heat oven to 180 degrees C.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla and beat well.
Sift flour and salt, beat in alternately with apple mixture.
Do line the tin as i found it a heck of a job to turn out !!!
Pour into tin and bake for approximately 1 hour or until cooked.
Make topping by combining butter, sugar, milk and coconut. Heat over low temp till butter and sugar is melted
Spread over hot cake and return to oven for a further 20 minutes or until topping is golden brown.

Mel ,I could try telling him to put a bigger board. But you know what they are like lol.New target sheet on it now with pictures of rats as well as rabbits !!
Why am I doing a Roast in this heat.I must need my head testing. It's a scorcher.Chester almost has his nose glued to the oven door waiting for his little bit of beef when it's carved.
I didn't see the moon last night Mel
Fiona that sounded like a lovely service this morning. It is quite some time since I went to a Palm Sunday service.I think somewhere I have 2 palms that the Children gave me from Sunday School.
I just realised I missed the Marathon this morning.Catching up with it now. Some of the runners must be so hot especially those in fancy dress.
Must get my potatoes in the oven now.

Just come in from the sun for a few minutes. It is a glorious day today and I have been reading the newspaper out in the garden. Frank Ros has done so well with her bunnies and chicks and still more money to come. Mandy Thanks for the recipe. I will give it a try when I next do some baking. Do I just need a pinch of salt as it does not give an amount? Watched the motor racing this morning and it was so exciting, best race I have seen in ages. Been down to Tes**s to get some slimming foods as I shall try to lose a couple of pounds whilst on my own so its salad for tea with turkey steak. I normally try to cut back whilst hubby is away but it does not always work so please remind me of my good intentions later in the week. Lucy now weighs 8lbs 8 ounces, I do not know what her mum is eating but it is certainly working well!! Will now return to the garden for awhile. Back later 3.35

Afternoon All,
Oi Frank, Annie get your Gun was what I was called at age 5 in my cowgirl outfit! Sounds like Ros's chicks and bunnies were a hit. They are doing well for the scout fund. I forgot to cover the potatoes last night, but they seem ok. I think I will cover them with some soil for now.
Poor little Alfie, Maureen. Maybe he just got stuck somewhere and wrenched himself like you think. I hope he is a lot better today.
Shirl, your son is very lucky to have you to help. I hope he enjoys his weekend with you and soon improves.
Well, so much for you having nothing to do with the gun Jane!! lol Sounds like you better keep the sellotape handy though. Wouldn't the target have to be near the ground to be realistic practice for shooting rabbits and rats as that is where they will be? How far do the bullets travel Jane?? I hope you are shouting 'FORE'. lol
The Lumberjack cake sounds nice Mandy.......more healthy than some with the apples and figs in it. Let us know what it is like to eat. It's another nice dry day for staining, is there much more to do.
Glad you are getting better weather Fiona. It is very sensible to fence your little pond .........so many take chances by not doing it don't they and a little tot can easily fall in. We are still wondering whether to have a tiny one and raise it up so we don't have to bend to clean it.
We were up and in the garden at 8 this morning finishing the rock edge at the bottom. It took us 3 hours with a break for a cuppa, but we are glad we managed to finish it. Now at last we can sort some of the flower beds out, lay the soaker hose and get planting.

Ann is the soaker hose one of those that you can put around in the beds and then put them on a timer to sprinkle the garden?I think they are wonderful. We don't have them but when we stayed in a Villa in Portugal they would turn on at about 6 in the morning and again in the early evening. So no need for someone to come in and water the garden.
Chris has gone to crash out for a while,Hannah is in the Summerhouse revising for her interview next month, and James is upstairs taking pot shots out of his window at the target.Muggins here seems to have been left with the washing up and the washing.
Hannah has come to the decision to let her house be repossessed .This mortgage company are still messing her around and she just can't cope with it any longer. She has told them she will no longer be paying any mortgage payments. So now we have to see what the process is. It never ends !.But HEY HO life is sometimes ****.She will come out the other end even if it is in a few years down the line. All I can say is thank god she has us and Shame on the Mortgage people.( I daren't name them again as I may get into trouble with GR)
I hope this lovely weather continues for a bit longer. It's great.

Many years ago I was struggling with debt repayments including my mortgage following my second redundancy. I went to court of my own choice and entered into an agreement to pay my sundry debtors £40 a month.
When the court rubber stamped it my debtors coul;dnt touch me for monies. They had to between them divide the £40 a month I paid into the court. With the passing of time every one got paid.I now have no mortgage and no other debts. It wasn't easy, far from it,but it can be done.
Perhaps Chris is firing that rifle and thinking of the twerp that caused Hannah's financial problem.Substituting rabbits.
