I have been up the border all day. Well I came in for lunch and went straight beck up there. Stripped of my jumper as it was so hot.

The walk in the woods went off ok and I walked up later to see how they did and they gave me a bottle of cider for letting them park on the field. Having a little glass as I type.

Jane well now you have done all James washing the worst bit is to come!! The ironing.................................................

I cooked our pork loin this morning and am not sure what to do with it now. At least I don't have to cook much to get dinner tonight. Probably new pots or maybe salad and pitta bread with chilli sauce. OH always likes that.

Good that baby Lucy is putting on wieght Anne.

Wonder what Frank's been up to today??

Like the sound of that cake Mandy. May try it to see what it's like.

We've been out in the garden most of the day ,apart from taking some rubbish to the dump ,and got lots of jobs done .

Anne ,yes sorry ,it does need a pinch of salt in the recipe , have added to the posting , it's a nice cake , very moist ,but do line the sides and base of the tin as it was a devil to get out ,i only lined the bottom of the tin and greased and floured the sides ,thought i was going to have to spoon it out !!!
Putting the brown sugar ,and cocnut mix over the cake makes it all dark inside , its not a cake you can pick up with your fingers we had to go posh and use a fork LOL mind you it was still warm when we tried it .

Feel tired now i've sat down ,don't think we'll be late to bed tonight .

Have spent a lovely day with middle daughter and we got to eat our roast chicken in the garden, although the sun went early afternoon it was still nice to sit out and we were kept entertained by a cat that decided to climb my 40ft tree, it was really funny watching him try to find his was back down.
Poor Alfie is no better, seems to be sleeping most of the time and will only eat if you put his food right under his nose. I'll probably give him a few days, don't want to go rushing to the vets unless I absolutely have to.

Another lovely day tomorrow so Ros should do well again with her bunnies, I'm so glad all her hard work has paid off.

8.52pm

Here I am, what a day we have had.

Got up about 9.00, usual cups of tea. No food. Went down the garden with Ros, worked all day on the bit where the chickens were, also set the tomato plants in the greenhouse. planted up more tubs, with climbers and pansies.

A friend's husband is in Oxford hospital, just had a back operation. Cololyne his wife, went to visit this afternoon, and Ros invited her to dinner when she got home. We had dinner at 7. 30pm.. By the time I had cleared away and put the dish washer on it was almost 8.50 so just poped in to let you know I am around.

You all sound as though you have been very busy, with all the gardening, in this beautiful weather.

See you tomorrow, GOD BLESS.

Sorry Alfie is no better Maureen. I wonder what he did, poor thing. Maybe he will pick up in a day or two. It is nice being able to eat in the garden.....tastes better somehow. lol

Jane we had a hose like that to start with that squirted out of holes, but it squirted more over the path than the flower bed. We then got one which the water seeps out of instead and you can bury under the soil. We left a connector at the end to attach the main hose or water butts to save on the water meter. You have to be careful digging when it's hidden!! We are going to see if we can lay some on the other sunny flower bed this time as well. It is just nice sometimes on a boiling hot day to not have to carry the watering cans.

Poor Hannah. Not much consolation I know, but I read today that house prices are expected to fall over the next 2 years, so losing the house now might be damage limitation for her. It will certainly be healthier for her to be able to see a way forward instead of this limbo she is in.

We are off to Nuneaton shopping early in the morning which will be good. We also need to get another spike for the rotary so I can move it to a sunnier spot certain times of the day. It's handy near the house, but is in the shade at times.

It must be the fresh air again.........I'm off to bed, so night, night all xx

Morning All,

Nice day again today. I forgot to shut the big hens in last night and was so tired when I thought of it I did'nt bother. OH said they would be alright as we have just done the fence.

Frank thanks for letting us know you were ok yesterday. I was'nt sure if you still had Lewis with you or not.

Mandy I have filed the cake recipe.

I bought one of those seepy hoses last year to use in the tunnel under the myplex where I plant the tom plants. I have some nice leeks in the tunnel may do hammy leeks in cheese sauce one day this week.

Gosh do I ache this morning and my good foot aches all down the left hand side. It must be the way I stand when weeding. I must admit I do lean on the old fork while tiptoeing through the plants and weeding as I lose my balance with this other foot.

Don't know if I have told you this before but I had one of those stainless steel border forks. OH used it for something and broke off one of the right hand tines. So now I had a fork with three tines!! Then one day he took of the other tine on the left which made it a two tine fork and it is marvelous for getting out long rooted weeds and for digging inbetween plants as you can stick it in the ground and just turn it. I also lean onit when weeding when I bend and don't get so my back ache. He did but me another border fork!

MORNING,

Ros is off to the nurse this morning, check up or something.

Lewis went home Saturday night. His mum and dad came up about 7pm We had a chinese. When it was time to go home, he didn't want to go. I think he gets spoilt more here than at home. I wonder why ???

The central heating came on this morning, so Blood# hot, i'm sitting in my underpants.!!!!

Hope little Alfie is feeling a bit better. My old cat "STAMP" post office cat. Got hit by a vehicle on the road outside the shop. He dislocated his pelvis. I made him a pen in the lounge, we keept in in for months. We even cut a turf from the lawn for him to walk on. We feed him by hand, and eventually he got better, but was much slower in his movements. He ended dying of old age.

Jane, I know is must be very difficult for Hannah, but as I said before, it's got to get better. I know you mentioned the Company before. I only knew them as a Finace Co. for H>P. on cars, and Electrical goods. They should get slated in the press, when this episode with Hannah is over. I know I wouldn't let it rest.

More overcast this morning, will try to get the back lawn cut and trimmed later. Then if we don't get any rain, the sprinkler will be out this evening, the gardens are so dry.

Morning Everyone.
The air is very heavy with Pollen today.I didn't do a long walk in the village as it was so strong. It is more Hazy today and was very foggy first thing.I think it is burning off now.

Before I start the mammouth ironing pile I need to get a few bits and bobs ,and look up prices of van hire so we can get Hannahs things out of the house sometime while James is home from Uni .We will need his and Chris's muscle power.

Coffee first though. 10.33

I have mowed the back lawn and trimed the edges. Just having a sit then with do the front. Must put down a bit of grass seed in places around the edge of the lawn. Hope I haven't done a silly thing. I planted my BROARD BEANS yesterday. They are looking so strong in the pots, I thought I would put them in. I have dusted the leaves to keep the black fly off. Runner beans are looking good also, When is it safe to put those along the fence.???? I know is the past I have put them in my big tubs. This is the first time I have put them in the real open. If you know what I mean. I have some fleece and old sheets that I can still cover them at night. if necessary.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the better weather.

Off for a coffee, then the front lawn.

Hasn't this year flown by, do you remember it was last Easter I had all the family here for Easter Sunday and got some really good tips from you on how to cook the lamb and roast potatoes, well we're there again and they are all coming this Sunday, except for my dear old mum of course.

Did the vet diagnose a dislocated pelvis Frank, and could they not do anything about it. Alfie doesn't seem to be in pain, he is a little more responsive today but still very weak, he can't seem to put any weight on his left legs he just keels over but he did go looking for his food. I don't think he could have got out onto the road, the fences around the back garden are all six foot high. He doesn't want to be in the garden now, I took him down the bottom where he usually does his 'business' but he moved pretty fast back up to the house. I'll give it a day or two before taking him to the vet, it will cost me £40 just to have them look at him.

I must have missed the posts about Hannah and the house Jane, sounds like she's rid at last, even if out of pocket, best just to move on and put it all behind her.

Afternoon All,

I'm pooped now after our little shopping spree this morning. Managed to get a few tops and trousers........wonder how many will be going back!! lol

Frank.....HEATING!! Makes me wilt thinking of it. Still, you are cutting down on washing. I love the name STAMP for a post office cat. lol

My land cress doesn't seem to be coming through......it was seed from last year so that may be why. I've put some purple podded french beans in, but haven't done any runners yet. There will be a few radish for the salad tonight.

I'm trying to decide which shrubs should go where in the garden. I bet some will be dug up again a few days after planting!! lol

Better get on with some h****work!! Oh I hate doing it and there is more to do now OH is at home all day. Still, he will hoover all through later.

Hi Everyone
Another lovely day although it is beginning to cloud over now. Had another trip to the DRS this morning with another sample as UTI no better. She now thinks it could be something else so we wait for the results.
Been out and about with a friend this afternoon and enjoyed a good chat. Have started cleaning out my wardrobe and filled two sacks so far and I still have two shelves to do. Is'nt it amazing how much rubbish we can collect, found sweaters which I have not worn in years!! Must admit that I am feeling virtuous at the moment. Found a mouse in the garden this morning which I think is living under the back steps. Maybe I need to borrow one of those guns ( only joking)
Enjoy the rest of the day

Strawberries,Raspberries and Blueberries for pudding.

Hi All
been a lovely day here warm even though it hasn't always been sunny.
had a busy day with Sofia , shopping and playing in the back garden , what a temper that girl has showing her real character now, she didn't want to get changed to go out , flinging herself about when I tried to put on her clean T shirt. another temper tantrum when she had to go in her buggy. mind you she was tired and finely fell asleep while we were walking home from the shops,

Maureen , poor wee Alfie I hope there is nothing seriously wrong.

Got all my washing done and now I have a pile of ironing to get through, then I need to clean and hoover the back bedroom , as MIL is coming up for Easter, OH will go and get her on Thursday after work and bring her up.

Time for dinner need to go and set the table
