Hi Everyone Another glorious day today. Have done my duty at TIC and then went to lunch with two friends before having hair cut. Now home briefly before W.I. Jane my blood ran cold when I read about that poor little girl. Accidents can happen so easily. It will take a very long time for her family to recover.( if ever) Just had a chat to hubby and weather in Majorca not as good as here. Son also rang to say trhat all well there and they have been out to lunch. I told him that returning to work is going to come as something of a shock. Must go and find something to eat as out at 6.30. I used to love ice cream soda and dandelion and burdock!! 5.17

WHAT A CRACKER !!!!!
Have been in shorts all day, in fact I am SUNBURNT across my shoulders, will get Ros to rub some aftersun on before I go to bed. Have potted on the fuchias, and they are now in the greenhouse. We have both worked in the garden all day, then I decided to paint the fence between the young couple and ours, the wood is so dry, it just sucks in the paint. B & Q dark oak. Will have to get another tin tomorrow (10% off day) When thats finished I will hang little baskets along it, for cherry tomatos and Ros will no doubt put some baskets with flowers in. It will brighten up the driveway.
Glad everything is going along for Ian, won't be long before he on his feet proper.
I bet you never said nincompoop JANE. I bet it started with a B####### ours works on the thermastat so won't come on till the temp. drops.
Mel, It seems that shopping comes second at the moment. I bet you have enough in the freezer to last you a few days. Like us.
I loved cream soda with a scoop of ice cream in, that was my Sunday afternoon treat at "THE VILLAGE REST" Do you remember that place Mel, Up by the CROWN AND CROCKED BILLET. Where the No.10 bus turned round.

Evening Folks,
What a shame about that little girl. Her poor sister too will never forget finding her.
Sunburnt Frank? I'd have been dark oak after doing the fence. You are moving at a pace getting your garden shipshape, putting us to shame. lol We have levelled off one of the new flower borders now after plugging the crevices between the rocks with stones. Then we laid the soaker hose, digging a little channel to bury it in. It was like wrestling with a snake getting it to curve where we wanted it and clamp it down with tent pegs. lol Well I went indoors to shower and OH couldn't find my BEST trowel could he, searched high and low and wanted to know what I HAD DONE WITH IT!! We eventually found it.......where HE had buried it under scoops of soil he was digging out for the hose. lol
I popped out to the village garden centre first thing and got some of the basket plants I want......no fuschias there yet though. The young man loading replacement trays said it had been impossible to do his job over the weekend as the greenhouses were jammed solid with people and there had been huge queues at the tills.
Anne you have the same taste as my OH in fizzy drinks, they are his favourites too. I've always loved Vim*o, still have it now. Mum always said the nettle pop gran made was nice, but I never got to try any.
Well I saw the lady at the bank and was told the same as the phone people told me. I said was there no audit trail then?? That did the trick and it looks like it should get sorted with recompense like before. Good job I still have enough marbles to see what they have done.

Ann ,we always get the blame for losing things lol.Chris is always looking for his pants and ask me what I have done with them.In fact his just said to James to have a trawl through the clean washing .Ha! Ha! I have already put them in his drawer. He does have plenty in the drawer but he won't wear some even though they are new.He likes his old comfy ones !Mind you I like my comfy ones too.
Anne I bet there are thousands of Brits in Majorca for the Easter Hols. You say we have better weather !!!.Not that I am gloating lol.
They are just talking on TV about it being the best time to see Bluebells.I saw some on the verge in the village yesterday ,and there were some white ones in amongst them. I remember going down to the woods to pick Bluebells as a child with my friend .It was like a blue carpet. And the smell was wonderful. Chris has his hose out watering the garden(hosepipe) lol.Fancy having to water the garden like this in April !

Hi All wow its gone chilly now. Came in from the shops this afternoon and what a stink in the back porch as though someone had spilt milk and it had gone sour, after washing down floor and surfaces found it was the blind behind the fridge seems milk had been splashed and had hit the blind and the hot sun was making the sour milk reek , down came the blind and I managed to give it a good clean thank goodness oh it was wicked.
OH putting chairs away in the garage and I'm going for a shower

Oh Pooh! Fiona that would smell like sick.Yuk Yuk!.Good job you found out where it was coming from. It is certainly fresher outside now ,but I know my bedroom will be really stuffy. It gets all the sun up there in the afternoon.I will be having a fight with Chris to keep windows open.I want them open and he will want them shut because of bugs and noise lol.He will open the window a crack ,and then in the night I will open it more .I can't sleep in a room with no air.Last night was very warm ,so heavens knows what it will be like tonight.Might have to put the fan on !!! I think all this pollen in the air makes us all really tired. We all feel weary.Hannah has gone to bed and I know Chris and I won't be long now.James is out playing Badminton with friends . Will say Night Night now.xx

Yes that happens here too Jane. He says he hasn't got any to wear.........but the drawer is half full. lol I must say I have favourites as well! lol
Oh Fiona, that sounds like the smell I had in my car with the carrier bag that yoghurt or something like it had spilt on.......not a smell you can ignore!!
Liz, a low profile sounds good, let's hope it lasts. You both deserve a bit of peace and quiet. It must be lovely where you are in this sunny weather. I have fond memories of a sunny break at the White Horse at Exford, watching the trout in the river, lovely.
I was up early again this morning, so I think I'll turn in now. The achey knees and back need a good sleep. OH has gone to 1 and a half matches tonight, only little local ones that don't charge. Sometime over easter he is presenting a pilot football programme on a local radio station. I would be petrified, but he is really looking forward to it. lol
Night. night to you all.......sleep tight xxx

Another glorious day with a breeze that is drying the washing very quickly. Think I might have the day at home and sit in the garden this afternoon. Have been on the phone trying to tie down the garden people regarding the fence erecting. Cannot get the woman to say other than sometime next week which is rather annoying as we have last minute things to move and next doors motorhome will not be around on Tuesday which would have been ideal. Jane Hubby rang last night and said that hotel is full. Always lots of cyclists at this time as the teams do winter training there but lots of families this year because of the long easter break. It does not really affect him as the group visit marshes sewage works etc where your average family does not go!! Annx My grandma used to make all sorts of concoctions using plants and flowers including nettle soups and drinks. Her ginger wine was fabulous and her ginger beer used to explode regularily. She had a pantry which was a lovely place to visit as a small child full of stone jars and bowls with things fermenting in them. Shame we have lost some of the old traditional recipes. Must go and do the ironing as tea break over 11.05

Oh what a beautiful morning, Oh what a beautiful day, 'Till some bugger upsets it !!!!!
How the devil are you all,????
We haven't been invited to Rutland this weekend as Jan is off the see her daughter and grand daughter and family for a week in Torquay. Conrad will stay at home maning the computers and phones. (BUSINESS GO'S ON) So I have invited them down for dinner on Sunday also Harvey and family.
Will go out and get a Turkey and all the veg. tomorrow or Friday.
Beed done the garden this morning and my seed potato's are starting to show through. Must cover them up later. ( Keep them in the dark. Like you woman do with us men)!!!!
Jane, Why don't you take the ironing board outside and get the sun on you at the same time ???
Anne the old walk in larder held some real treats for us kids. With the war on and rationing, you never knew what concocktion (wrong spelling) Mum had made and put on the Marble slab or in the "meat safe" It was always a treat. and such a change from whatever she could get from the butcher.

Good afternoon all,
It is another beautiful warm and sunny day here.
We have just been trying to sort out the bantams with a new house for when our friends come to look after the chickens while we are away. Also OH has some kind of filter coming for the pond as he won't be here to clean the filter during the week we are away and we can't ask them to do that as well.
Frank I can remember the Crocked Billet I think but not the place you were talking about.
Just going to do some lunch now so BBL.
OH moaning about not having a tee shirt to wear!! Have'nt done any ironing lately!!

I have always fancied a walk in larder!!
One place we looked at once to live with mum and day had a huge walk in larder and a proper still room with marble slabs but unfortunately my nan who lived with us at the time had to go to hosp. on the day of the auction so we never got the place. Would have been a lot of work for dad too converting the big barn for us to live in and doing up the house for mum.

Afternoon all YES another lovely day here, cloudy and warm and the sun keeps popping in and out. just got back from having coffee with friends, so need to put washing on the line and get some lunch,
everyone has ironing to do today, wish I could take mine outside Frank but I have no plug sockets near to my house, my patio and seating area is down the bottom end of the garden, so I have to carry chairs etc all the way down the garden, I get a tray and put on phone, book ,reading glasses , drinking glasses and bottle of juice and door key's as my back door is at the side of the house so I can't see it from where I'm sitting so I have to lock up the door. many a time I am ready to go and the suns gone in LOL

Well really! There are rats down in the compost bins or stacks (not sure what to call them) Home made ones.So I will not be too keen on going down there Both James and I have seen them now.I know they nest in compost.I don't blame them with all the scraps of fruit and veg that are there. I think it will have to be poison .I can't be having them about again.
I have had to ring the Dentist to see if he can have a look at this tooth of mine before next tuesday.I have got an appointment for the morning ,but I'm not sure if he will have time to do anything then.
I must get a cold drink,my tongue feels like it is stuck to the roof of my mouth lol(after that long stint of ironing).Frank I would get to hot outside ironing. It's a great idea though. My old next door neighbour was always doing hers out side when it was hot and sunny.

Afternoon everyone ,
What lovely weather ,carn't believe how warm it is ,if this keeps up the Spa will be out .
Went to Tes*o's this morning , then DIL rang this afternoon and asked if i would take her to Tes*o's !!! so back i go this afternoon , glad i went they were selling the Chickens off at half price ,little ones £2 and large at £3.50 ,so i got one of each and have put them in the freezer , but i also bought a Rhubarb pie and some of that nice thick cream !!!
Made Lasagna for tea and two sponges ,one chocolate and one jam , i thought they would do for the days that the family will be here , son is coming on Friday and Saturday to help hubby replaster the staircase at last , been waiting since before christmas to have it done , so will have the little ones here too as DIL will come with son and spend the day .
I know some one that used to do their ironing late at night in the summer when it had been a hot day ,she would take the ironing board outside and use her outside light to see by. We use to have a little pantry in the kitchen under the stairs ,but hubby knocked it out to make the kitchen bigger .

Jane You arer having a terrible time with that tooth. Hope it is sorted soon as toothache is horrible. Been thinking about my grandmas pantry and remember her keeping the weeks bread in an old metal boiler. She used to have a black range and I remember her making the bread for the week by hand. It was such hard work in those days. There is a cool breeze here now so have come back indoors.Am feeling slightly off balance this afternoon. My neck needs a stretch as I have been looking down for to long. Need to think of tea now. 4.27
