Afternoon all my friends,
Been out in the garden all morning, put cabbage seed in also leeks. Will bring them on in the greenhouse then plant out when they are ready. I have also planted my RUNNER BEANS down the 6' fence with wire all along. I have got fleece attached to the top, ready to roll down if the nights turn cold. (ALL PREPARED) just like a little scout !!!! Found two more packets of Tomato seeds, so have set those also. I can give them to the scots hut fund, for their next sales day.
Ros has gone to the hairdressers to have her "highlights" put in. She will come back like a little BLOND bombshell.
Just had a prawn and coleslaw sandwhich. droped in all down my chin. But it was great. !!!
I think we all sat and watch that lost families programme last night. It should be a good series.
I am getting to the stage where I haven't anymore seeds to plant. It's just a matter of waiting till they grow. Being that it's been so nice this week I have spend all the days in the garden. On Monday the HOSTA was just showing through the earth in the big pot. This morning it must be 5" high. You can see it grow each day.
Will have to get a new washer fitted to the outside tap. If you turn it too tight it starts coming out again. Yesterday I called up to Ros to turn it off and five minutes later the was was still running. I went up to turn it off myself, and she said I HAVE DONE IT!!!!!. Thats when I found the trouble.
Hope you all have a very nice day in the sunshine.

Just had lunch as OH did'nt get back till later. He thought he only had to bury this pipe a little way but it was about 75 yards!! I wondered why he was so long as he said he would be about half an hour. Thought he may have got tied up with his tongue!! and they say women talk.......................................................
Did some ironing this morning and got the wash on the line and was really getting on well with OH out.
I had'nt realized it was Good Friday today!!

Anne, our deeds won't let us park a caravan here. They are quite strict. We can't light fires or keep chickens either. One of our neighbours has a motorhome tucked right down the side. The fence next to it is very high as his bungalow is lower than the next one so it doesn't cause any problem at all. He had it new and would be great to go touring in. I must say I miss some of the lovely sites I stayed at years ago with a little caravan. I remember one in the middle of a slate quarry with bunnies everywhere. I find Abba good for doing the cleaning too! lol
Mel, that was a long pipe! I bet he wanted something to eat next. lol
Frank, I have never grown leeks from seed. Are they easy? I still need to get a couple of fuschias for the baskets. I thought about getting a couple of those giant New Zealand busy lizzies for 2 pots, I've never had those outside before.
Wasn't that dreadful about that old man who they think fell off some steps headfirst into a water butt and drowned. A thing that has always worried me about cars is the electric windows if you land in a ditch and can't open a door but could get out through a window if you could open it.

When oh grew leeks from seed in big pots and let them grow to about a foot tall he would turn them out and wash all soil off the roots and trim the roots to about half an inch long and take off the top leaves so they were about 10 inches tall then make holes in the ground as deep as he could (about a foot) and just drop the leek plants in. We always had lovely long white leeks.
I did the same thing last year but could'nt really get the holes deep enough in the tunnel but they still grew quite well and I am still digging them.

Good morning All,
bit overcast again today. Yesterday the sun came out later on and it was a nice day after all. Hope it is the same today as BIL coming over with wifes two sons. They have an air rifle and want to do some target practice!! Goodness knows why they need one. They both live in towns.
Did a lot of ironing yesterday as with the windows and doors open I had a lovely breeze coming through. Put some things of OH's away for the holiday so he can't find them and wear them this week!

Morning to you all,
Wall to wall sunshine here. All the doors and windows open.
Ann I have never tried growing leeks, I think I will try to follow MEL'S instructions.!!! If it don't work, I have someone to blame lol lol
David, It's only when you look at the deeds to houses that you find all these quirky laws. We are not allowed front garden walls !!!
Had a pack of onion sets arrive this morning so will get those in. Then I am DOING NOTHING. My body ached so much last night I only dozed through out the night. My left knee that I had the operation on is starting to play up again, clunking and clicking as I walk. My stroke side is very achey I think I am ready for the knackers yard. lol lol
See you all later, have a good day

Morning ll Frank ,good idea .Just RELAX and rest those weary bones today. I had to go to bed about 7.30 last night .II felt a bit sicky.I think it could be this new antibiotic.I didn't get up until 9.30 !! Mandy I'm reserving judgement on my tooth at the moment.I do think it is a lot better, but I know I thought last last time lol.The taste in my mouth is disgusting. It is like TCP,from that dressing in my tooth.I'll just have to keep everything until tuesday.
Wow ,this weather. It is hotter than ever this morning.Chesters tongue was nearly on the ground 5 minutes after we went out.I just need to go and get some French bread and a few veg and then it will be on with the shorts.
Mel ,I bet you are counting the days now to your holiday.Just imagine if you have weather like this!!!
Ann,how was your evening.I bet it was a Blast(as my old window cleaner used to say).I bet it was all you expected and more.

Hi Everyone,
Well, we set off yesterday to go and see ANDRE RIEU and guess what.........one of the most boiling hot days and OH's air con packed up!!! It did this last year and he got it regassed and it was ok. I wanted to go back for my car but he reckoned there wasn't time, so there we were sailing along the M6 with the windows wound down and my carefully coiffed and sprayed hair soon looking like I'd slept in a hedge. lol The only good thing for me was that for some reason his air vents were blowing warmer air than mine. lol We were surprised there wasn't more traffic and managed to park right next to the venue so we didn't need the bus.
Our seats were pretty good next to an aisle and it was cool......great as there were 12,000 there. The show itself was absolutely superb, brilliant and fantastic!!!! Andre led the orchestra through the audience to the stage right past us, beaming and impeccable in his navy tailcoat and white cravat and the show started right on time. I have never seen so many encores at the end of a show..............OH said they took an extra 35 minutes after the show ended. In the end Andre was begging us to let him get into his PJs and sleep. A lovely man with such a passion for what he does. OH said we should go and see him on the continent where he performs outside in town squares.
Another scorcher today, good that you are getting a share of it too Fiona. OH is at a match in Solihull and I think I shall find me a garden centre. I want an Escallonia shrub with red flowers and those 2 fuschias I mentioned.
Jane it will be good when you know what's happening with your tooth. You are in a bit of a limbo at the moment.
David, you have to apply to the local council to run some businesses from home regardless of what's in your deeds. I remember when a house and workshop dad rented for 12 months to start his business they specified light engineering only.
Mel, it will be brilliant if it is like this for your hols! Will you be taking any bikes with you for exploring or will you just potter about on foot? I know some people work from boats and have laptops........will your OH be taking his laptop so you can keep in touch or is that a bit risky for getting pinched?
The rest today is a good idea Frank, otherwise you could be out of action longer. It is tempting to keep doing just a bit more though.
Well, I better get cracking........BBL

Ann it sounds like it was a magical evening.Going somewhere abroad to see him in the open air sounds a great idea.A totally different atmosphere. I'd love to seen your hairdo by the time you arrived lol
David ,Bonjela wouldn't help me I'm afraid as the problem is actually way down in the gum/jaw. It is just blooming annoying me now. Have just poured a nice iced lemon and lime seeing I can't have a chilled white wine lol.I'm sure it will do me the world of good abstaining for a few days.Pity it is over the Easter break though as I had bought a lovely Prosecco and a few other bottles.
Off outside for a bit now I think..........14.52
