Afternoon everyone ,

Well i think this must be our hottest day , phew !!!! had to come indoors its to hot out there for me.
Hubby's got some more plastering done this morning ,the family stayed here for lunch ,but have now gone home ,and sister and BIL will be here later and bring a Chinese meal for us with them, so i don't have to cook , not that i probably would have with this heat ,it would have been a salad of some sort .

Sounds as if you really enjoyed your evening Ann, i bet you were humming the music all the way home lol

Frank !! i thought you said you were going to rest today !! you'll be knocking yourself up !!!

Oh that's not nice Jane , having that horrible taste in your mouth ,no wonder you feel sick !! i bet your thinking roll on Tuesday !!

How do you bring those big fish home Mel, i know the little ones can go in those plastic bags , but a big one ?? i should think you'd need a big bucket !!!

Wish we had the Spa up , but hubby won't put it up until he's got his jobs done in the garden , plus there's things in front of the box its in ,in the shed so its a job to get to.

Cool drink time i think

BIL just gone. There were four adults and little Thomas arrived here and BIL took Thomas off to Torrington for a Hockings Icecream while the others stayed to play with the air rifle.

Ann OH dos'nt have a lap top so we shan't be taking one!! WE don't have bykes either!! so it will just be Shanksies Pony for both of us.

I bought some more perennials at the garden center but with all the firing going on in the garden I have'nt got them in yet. I bought two dark blue delphiums and another Knautia like I bought before. Some seeds and a small can of roundup for the tunnel. Oh and took back a pair of trousers I bought oh that were too small and got a credit note so got a spawning brush as all the goldfish are chasing one another.

Now it is all quiet I don't want to do anything now!!

Mandy the big fish came home in a BIG plastic bag which was then put in a BIG cardboard box. OH could hardly lift it out and I had to go and get the wheelbarrow to get it from the car boot to the pond.

Phew, it is quite muggy here and a few thunder rumbles. Well I never got anything while I was out but can cross off 3 garden centres for the shrub I want. I did get an icecream though, not tried a T*orntons caramel cone before......very nice. I ended up going past the new wind farm so stopped and took a few snaps . They do look very majestic I must say. I expect it would be awful to live next to them with the noise they make. I wonder if people objected to windmills when they first came out!! lol

Well, shanks's pony is probably best for having a good rest and relax Mel. I bet you will see lots of cute ducklings and Moorhen chicks. That sounds a very big fish your OH got..........how many do you have now. I love Delphiniums, beautiful range of colours but I never seem to do very well with them. I seem to remember the slugs like them too.

Has super time with neighbours last night which cheered me up immensly.(?)
Fencing man rang this morning to say that they are coming on Tuesday so we can finally get the garden sorted ( or at least begin to)
Going to catch up with hubby now. Back tomorrow

Mel ,you can't beat a Hockings ice cream.I think Mum said they were around when she was a young girl living in Bideford.
That fish does sound a whopper.Any photo of it?
Anne I bet you are pleased to have your OH home now.I bet he is surprised with our hot weather.it's been incredible.

Ann I could just fancy a Caramel Cone ,any ice cream in fact would go down a treat now.But Hannah has just finished off the last of it !
I have a Turkey Crown defrosting in the garage for tomorrow.I hope I have given it long enough.I'm also cooking a small Lamb joint.Must have Lamb at Easter lol
I think this weather is flaking everyone out.Poor Chester has been panting all day.
I think Maureen is doing her Lamb for all the family again tomorrow.I seem to remember she had a huge joint last year.

I think I am going to switch off here now and watch a bit of tv and then have yet another early night.
Sleep well everyone.I bet it will be a stuffy night xx

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE

Sunny here, mild , I think the real hot weather has left us , not for too long I hope. there is a coolish wind.
I'm off to church this morning.

Mel I was given a packet of LINDOR mini chocolate eggs on Thursday and I have them in the top drawer of the dressing table , I have been popping one in my mouth now and again when I have been in the bedroom, didn't dare bring them down stairs or they would have been eaten all in one go.

No egg for me! BUT I do have a spare one in the top of the cupboard that I bought for James girlfriend thinking she was going to be here this Easter, but as she isn't I may claim that one for myself lol.Of course if I was good I could give it to James to take to Jess when he goes back to Uni.
As a child James always liked the Yorkie Egg.I still get him one now.Daft isn't it.
Hannah got a Thorn*** Bunny.
I think it's not going to be so hot today which will be nice especially with doing the Roast.I'm going to pop the Turkey and Lamb in now and then get myself showered

Just had an early lunch so I can get onto the border again and get those new plants in. Some I put in the other day need a water too so I am going to ask OH to lug the hose up the garden for me and go and turn the pump on and water it from the well. It is much easier on the water meter that way!!

I have a small piece of brisket for tonight but forgot to get it out the freezer yesterday.

I had bought a BIG tin of Roses chocs for OH instead of an egg and much more choccy than you would get from an egg. As I did'nt get one I am going to have the strawberry creams and a couple of other from his tin!! It is now OUR easter choc.............

Jane , I still buy my two girls and their OH or boyfriend Easter Eggs, just little ones and I give them a £5 each, and of course this year Sofia is allowed chocolate , but I have got her a little chocolate Chicken instead of an egg and a small jigsaw, and I did give her mummy some money for sandals, or soft shoes.
just managed to have a cup of coffee outside before sun went in its warm until the clouds come over then there's a cool breeze.

OH planting seeds in trays and tidying up the garden, told him LOL he cannot go out on his bike this weekend for hours and hours as I am not going to have to keep his mother company by myself.

Afternoon everyone and Happy Easter .

Another lovely sunny day here although not as hot as yesterday.

The little ones came this morning and did the egg hunt , they found them all with a little help from mummy !!

Son and DIL bought an egg each for us ,last year they said don't buy eggs for us ,so i didn't ,but i think the look on their faces said i wish you had !!! you carn't win ,i felt awful then , so i told them i would get them a nice hanging basket to hang at their front door .

We went to a car boot this morning it was on our Tes*o store's car park , they hold one there every easter when the store is closed for the day , the proceeds go to charity , lots of people selling , we got a little Winnie the Poo ride on for Katie for £5 , and a lovely Disn*y Princess bike for Chelsea for £12 , mind you why we buy them i'll never know we have a garden full of toys now !!! lol

We're just having a lazy day today , just had lunch and hubby's having a doze !!

That must be some big fish Mel, have you photo ?

Mel, you said it will be Shanks's pony for you on your holiday , i bet you could hire some bikes !! lots of the boots we see on the Broads have bikes on board !! you could get a Tandem !! lol you sit on the back and pretend to peddle while your OH does all the work LOL

Dinner will be ready here as soon as the veg is cooked. We are all starving.I have suggested someone would like to set the table outside.I wonder if it will be done!Or will it be me ?

I remember my favourite Easter Egg.I must have been about 4 or 5.It was huge with lovely iced flowers stuck all over the front.I think it was violets and some yellow flowers.

Happy Easter Everyone,

We had a good downpour for a good half hour yesterday.....it watered everything beautifully and saved us having to do it!! The soil surface was dry enough this morning to plant the 3 Acers that have been living in pots for a couple of years. You could almost hear them sigh to get the extra root room. lol

We told MIL not to get us anything this year and she said not to get anything for them, but she must have thought we just meant eggs so we now have giftcards to spend instead which is better!! lol OH had to rush out and get them something, biscuits and a box of chocs.

Mandy you and Maureen get a lot of boot sale bargains. I bet the children will love your purchases.......can't have too many toys can you! lol I bet they loved the egg hunt. I only remember getting easter eggs from my parents when I was little. Still gran would have had to buy about 25 for all her grandchildren which would have been a tad expensive out of her pension.

OH is sat doing some notes for the pilot football radio show he is doing later. He's not a bit nervous........I am though!!! lol

While it is still nice outside I think I will see what else to put in the border we are working on. I have lots of pots with things in.......all I need now is that bit of paper where I wrote how big they all grow.

Happy Easter. Well I am out of hospital thank goodness and today is my birthday. I am seventy two and heres me thinking I was seventy four haha That was a nice surprise.

I had to go into hospital .I was feeling very strange. My heart was beating very fast but a few minor bits of surgery and I am now ok. But will not be doing much for a while.

I am busy writing my book The Witches Brew my lastest chaper me being the witch I have just cast a spell on Mr Plod the policeman who was very nasty and stopped the children walking there pets on the village green in the village where they lived his nose turned into something very nasty.

i have had to research witches .I found a very nice verse from a William Shakespeare play.

Eye of newt, toe of frog, wood of bat and tongue of dog, adders fork lizards legs and howlet wings .form a charm of powerful things.
Well when researching I left my e mail on a witch site advertising a book and I had real witch contact me. I was asked to a meeting and I said thank you very much but I was doing research for a book I got a bit worried so have not done anything like that since. It seems they dance round naked
which I thought oh my gosh me with my figure.ha ha.

Beryl came and it seems Donnie found out he is related to someone who lived at Umberslade hall time of William the Conqueror 18th Century to a gent called Cedrick Ullenhall .The village is very beautiful I have been to Ullen. It hosted the laboratory of the Truimph and BSA Motorbikes.

Donnie received a letter and he was asked to visit a lady called Catherine Ullen who had been tracing her family tree.

It seems Donnie and Beryl went to visit Catherine and she invited them into the hall and a very posh lounge area where they were served tea and sandwiches. Donnie wore his usual gear of leather and studs and Beryl wore what she called her posh frock. I had a great laugh when the maid asked Donnie do you take tea Sir and he said take it where love. His joke did not go down well.It seems myself tracing my family tree gave them the idea to trace Donnies family so they obtained the Family tree maker cd and thats how Catherine discovered Donnie.

When Donnie came to the hospital to see me he said I come from a wealthy family and I always thought I was born under a gumtree thats what my dad told me. Poor Donnie his mum ran off with his uncle Billy Jo and Donnie was sent to different homes. I do laugh .Donnie makes me laugh he is so droll.

I think Donnie and Catherine are meeting for lunch which did not include Beryl but she is buying a new hat anyway. I guess she will turn up with him.

Jess is away in Rhyl with April and Ryan and Michelles gone to stay with Moshens family in Karawen TUNISIA. I told her not to go but it helps her I think to get over him. Myself I would just make a clean break away from them all but Michelle knew them all for years.

I have read a few posts and so sorry Jane about the family and the little girl.
And poor Alfie I have such a lot of pictures of Alfie.
One of Fiona and her dog. Loads of pictures you all sent me.

I had a shock my best Friend Rosemary who lived in Canada son killed his little boy and then himself it made big news over there but my letter went to the student house next door and I did not get it until weeks after.
I did write when in hospital but what can you say really but sorry it was dreadful and Rosemary and David are such a nice couple.

Well I had a lovely birthday twinned with Easter ,eggs ,cakes, chocolates ,but having to give them all away cannot eat them its lettuce leaves and fruit for me. BOO HOO.Bye godbless

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SHEILA
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

I thought you may have been away in Wales ,not in hospital ! I hope you are recovering well from your latest trouble. With both Jess and April in Rhyl and Michelle in Tunisia you will be able to concentrate on yourself for a while.

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when Donnie and Beryl went to meet this Catherine lol.I can just picture Donnie in his get up and studs! It sounds an interesting family to trace.

It sounds as you have nearly finished your book.I suppose you had plenty of time while you were in hospital to do a bit more on it.

How awful for your friend to lose her grandson and son in those circumstances.I can never understand how someone can kill their own child like that.

What a pity you can't enjoy your Eggs and chocolates.I bet someone will be grateful for them .
