I've had a lazy afternoon too Mandy. I thought OH did well for a first attempt.. An hour is a long time to talk about anything, especially live on radio, it's not like you can rewind is it. lol I would have run out of what to say, I know, but I'm not a chatterbox like him!! He's just got back.......food on his mind now!

I've just discovered my car door mirror won't adjust in and out. It must have been like it since the lorry broke it off driving past when I was parked last year. Another job to sort out. Just hope they won't try and charge for it.

Better go and see if anything is left in the fridge.

Aw! I missed him Ann.He must finished by the time I found the station.

I am feeling (dare I say) a little chilly.I will shut the doors now and stop any more midgy flies getting in.
Lewis is just starting so I'm off to watch that .

Sheila I am sorry to hear you have been in hospital but I do hope everything is ok now. I know just what you mean about feeling funny with your heart beating away fast. That is what happened to me a few years ago now. I had no energy at all to even walk.

Happy birthday to or though it is a bit belated as I did'nt get back on the pooter yesterday. Hope you had a good day.

I see you have all enjoyed your Easter.

We had friends call yesterday to see what they have to do for the chickens while we are away. I can't beleive it is only a few days before we go and I have'nt got everything ready yet!! Must do something today. I really don't know what to pack.

It turned quite warm here yesterday and I worked up the border getting more ivy off the wall and I have nearly finished gettting the weeds out! Then as I was digging away at ivy roots a big iron hook that held strong wire to the wall for a vigerous rambling rose shot out the wall and hit me on the head just into my hairline on my left hand side. Cor it did hurt and I cam e back down the garden with tears in my eyes and blood running down my face. OH had to clean it up for me and he was so gentle. After he made sure I was ok he went up and cut all the wire off the wall so I don't have to worry about that now. Heads a bit sore this morning.

You were lucky that hook didn't get your eye Mel.I'm not surprised it is sore this morning.NOW you need to get sorting out your holiday things.What date is it again you go?.I would look at the long range weather forecast to get some idea of what the weather is going to be.That can help with deciding on what kind of clothes to pack.Don't forget toilet rolls and a couple of extra towels.

It is a better day today weather wise.It is sunny whereas yesterday was quite overcast in the morning.I am not cooking today except for a Mediterranean Veg Tart that just needs heating.It is cold turkey,ham,salad and maybe a few new potatoes.

going to get on with the Ironing , then go out and do MIL last minute shopping then we are going to daughter no1 house for tea. it will be pasta, meat in a sauce with veg, then followed with fresh fruit or cake. will need to take a starter for MIL she won't eat any kind of Pasta , and doesn't like sauces on her food just plain old gravy lol

Mel you were very lucky just as Jane said it could have been your eye, Hope the weather for your holiday is good, your boating aren't you, not much fun if it's raining. take something to read just in-case you have an odd wet day.

Oh Mel that sounded nasty, quite a shock too. You wonder for a minute what harm you've done to yourself. Jane made me chuckle mentioning extra towels......I had a vision of you toppling into the water a few times!! lol Your OH might need his biggest fishing net!

Ah, a pity you missed him Jane. I must say I was quite surprised how knowledgable he was. How he remembers all those footie facts I'll never know.......he can't remember where things are kept in the house!! lol

Your MIL sounds like mine when it comes to food Fiona......doesn't like anything 'different'.

Frank, I think you overdid it a bit in the garden........a good rest is just what you need now.

Yesterday, about 6 miles miles from here they had HAILSTONES!! lol There was a picture in the local paper, the ground was white over!

Glorious sunshine here........I may plant up my 2 baskets now I've got some fuschias this morning.

Morning everyone,

Sunny here , just sat out and had a coffee , hubby's doing some jobs ,i've just washed my floors over ,so waiting for them to dry, have also put my door mat in the washing machine ,got to keep an eye on it as it lumps round in the machine .

Mel, you were lucky you didn't have your eye out with that wire catching you like that , i bet its sore this morning .

No cooking for me today, we're off to sons later for a barbeque .

Have topped up the potato's in the bags, last time, thank goodness. Now just sit back and wait till they mature.

Planted up some Honey suckle for her ladyship.!!!!! in big pots in front of the side of the garage if you know what I mean. Hope you liked the photo's I just happened to have my camera with me.

Mel, That could have been nasty You must me more careful, when working in the garden.
. I remember taking down some precast concrete garages, I undone the nuts on two sides of the panels, and the lot collasped trapping me under them. One hit me on the side of the head. I had a lump the size of an orange. Many years later the doctor noticed I had a lump on the side of my head by my temple. It turned out to be a BLOOD CLOT. They decided it wasn't life threatening and left it alone. With wearing my glasses I have a permanent dent in the side of my face. It can still give me servere headaches at times.

So much for my REST> But I am finished for now, only the watering to do later.

Done washing and ironing and shortened OH's jeans ready for holiday.

OH has also raised the netting up on the pond at one end because my water iris had reached the netting and I said if they flower they will get strangled!! He is now trying to make some kind of filter for the pond as the one we have can't cope with the amount of stuff the fish make and my red leaved maple drops all it's flowers in the pond. He keeps wanting to take it out (the tree) but mum liked it and so do I.

Still haven't done the baskets...........OH out at a match and he's piled stuff up in front of the compost bag!! It will be easier for him to move it when he's back. The cucumbers are up, more than we need so I might put some in the flower bed against the trellis when the frost risk is gone..

Lovely pics Mel and Frank. Is the new fish to the left of the absolutely whopping one Mel? Frank, your garden looks really nice, what is the lovely white flowered shrub.....looks is if it is evergreen? The clematis on the fence looks really pretty too.

I wondered what the white shrub was too Ann.Great pics from Mel and Frank.I think it nice that we can send each other our pics.I took a few this afternoon but haven't put them on the pooter yet.

I have the Dentist at 9.10 in the morning.Oh dear!.More injections.I must be brave.I WILL BE BRAVE lol.I don't know if it is these antibiotics but I feel so tired .I can hardly stay awake.

HI THANKYOU for your birthday wishes Jane ,Amanda, Mel and Annx and good wishes for my health it is nice to know some of you care and have thought of me. I in turn have thought of you all and missed reading all the threads.

Mel I agree with Jane it is a good job that you did not get an eye injury.I have had some nasty accidents gardening.

Annx I did listen to your husbands talk.I tapped in what you said on the computor and he came up.most interesting. I saw a film once of ordinary men who took there private boats and went to France to try and get the soldiers off the beaches what a terrible experience for Gordon how brave he was. I love your name Spring. My uncle Francis was killed at Ypes .He went to find his mate who had been shot and dragged into a doorway by a German soldier. Francis and his friend George went to look for him and saw his body lying in a pool of water when they went to see if he was dead or alive the German soldier shot Francis in the back but his friend George managed to get away. Georges wife used to laugh because everytime George told that story he would tell a different version and Mary his wife would say what version is that George. Such a sweet old couple they were foster parents to 13 children in the Eastend of London.I remember going to the house a very old back to back type place with a huge washing mangle in the backyard and washing loads of it and indoors it hung on the celiing on a pulley.

I have been resting but it drives me mad .I did not want to moan about going into hospital again when you had already sent me cards .I do intend to send those things but everytime I get stuck into card making or put things out to send I either rush off to Wales or become ill again. I do feel ok at the moment just a bit tired.

Later on we are going out for a meal after we close the shop just down to the indian man but when I booked it he said he would do me a light curry
so I am looking forward to that.
Oh I had Beryl round today. Donnie she said had spilt red wine on her new dress and she wanted a new one. The cheeky thing told him it was fifty pound and she got it second hand from Birmingham market. Donnie gave her the money. I thought she had come to help me and I ended up doing her egg and chips. I got a moan because I had no vinegar. I think she paid seven pound for the dress .

I do hope you all have a nice evening it is my ho s birthday today day after mine so the meals a double wammy thing. oh mohsen turned up with a card and £10 for me. I had to be polite but felt a bit angry with him. Nice thought though. He did not stay long. I hate him being in Birmingham. He looked healthy on the benefits and a borrowed bike.

Had a lovely barbeque , but we had had to sit indoors as it was really chilly outside .
