Last to bed first up.!!! What a wonderful day to wake upto.

Did anyone see the Anrew Lloyd Webber prog last night. Weren't there somw beatiful paintings.????

I was up at 7.00 letting Ros have a lie in this morning. Had two cups of tea, a walk round the "ESTATE" everything looks great. Nothing to do today.

We are going down to Delepre Abbey at lunchtime. There is a model railway show, The large ones that you can ride on. My friend has 4 of them. Stored in a heated and air conditioned barn. He has a hoist to raise them up and put them in the back of his R.Rover. to transport them and a similar piece of kit at the other end to unload them. (MEN AND THEIR TOYS) !!!!

Hope Mr and Mrs Mel have a nice rest. Hear from them on their return.

Hannah is nearly ready to go to London for this mock interview.I just cooked some scrambled eggs with Pancetta bacon and toast so I know she has something in her tum.I didn't even know these practice interviews happened. It is being done by a Psychologist and she has all Hannahs details and info .I think it will be quite a grilling.

I wish this wind would die down a bit.Without it it would be really warm.I tried to read the paper outside but had to give up lol
I bet Mel will be well on the way now.I hope she hasn't forgotten to pack anything important! She deserves to have a wonderful week.

Afternoon everyone,

I wish the wind would die down a bit too Jane ,its really chilly out there, was hoping to do a few jobs outside but its to cold , we had the heating on last night for a while .
Went to sons this morning for coffee and he wanted hubby to help him put his television up on a wall bracket , they had the television on a low unit ,and wanted to get it up so the children didn't knock it .

Glad to hear the holiday makers have arrived ,lets hope the wind doesn't make the water to choppy !! i don't think i would be able to sleep being bobbed about ,i hope they both enjoy their week away .

Time for a cuppa to warm ourselves up !!!

Hi It is very windy I remember Tippy Tumbles with her distinctive striped top and blue trousers and the little green handbag for the batteries it was 1970s. My brother had a Meccano David a huge Windmill that worked and had lights on it cost a bomb.

Windy today.Aprils here my grandaughter.

I am seventy two that makes me fairly old.

Jane that course Hannah will be doing sounds interesting.

Mel enjoy your holiday.

I had to come inside the clouds came over and that chilly wind made it too cold to sit outside, as long as it stays dry I will get the washing dry,
Glad Mel & Oh have arrived safely, hope they have a nice time.

No garden for me today, far too windy, they do forecast better warmer weather later in the week, I'll get out there then, after seeing Frank's garden it has given me a bit of a nudge.

I went to the boot sale too Mandy on Saturday, the one I go to is massive and I'm usually out about 5 hours just wandering round having a nose, it doesn't surprise me now what you could buy there, everything including the kitchen sink.

I'm having a job now keeping this bandage on Alfie, it looked better yesterday so I left it off, now I can see he's been scratching again and it's bleeding so it's back with the plaster and sticky tape, trouble is it just won't stick and he keeps pulling the bandage off. On the plus side, he is much more lively chasing the other two cats and hopping up the stairs but he still won't go down the bottom of the garden, something certainly frightened him.

I have just made a pudding!!!.hopefully not like my rice pudding lol.It is a Pear Crumble with Chocolate chunks and hazelnuts. To served with Madagascan vanilla ice cream in individual pots. You should see the state of the kitchen.Looks like a bomb has gone off!
Maureen ,do you think Alfie was 'got ' by some animal at the bottom of the garden?Poor little thing. He is a tough cookie though isn't he.

Sheila how is little April? I bet she enjoys coming to stay with you.

Remember the other week I told you all about the little girl who died after pulling a marble dresser on top of herself. The funeral still hasn't happened.I think it may be later this week and it will be a private family only.My niece is quite relieved that she won't have to go.The house where she died has been put up for sale( I think it was Grandma's house) .She cannot bear to live there any more.It is so sad.

I better go and clear up the kitchen now.( I spilled the sugar too) lol

Clumsy old Bu####,

Glad Mel has arrived, It's a good job she's not in a sailing boat.!!!!!

We are just back from a bit of shopping, a trip round Delepre abbey grounds, and a look at these trains. There were hundreds of people queuing to get a ride. It will take the last of them all day to get on, never seen so many people. There were so many trains going around four tracks. One track is 1/3rd mile the others 1/2 mile.

We stopped of for Lunch on the way back, and a pint. Busy as it's bank holiday, children everywhere.

Hope Hannah, gets on allright with her interview. I know it's only a pratice, but good for her.

Hope little Alfie is going on OK, Do you think a fox might have had a go, or a Badger ????

Without that wind today, it would have been a belter. I know behing glass it was too hot. The poor plants in the conservatory, were gasping when I went out and opened the door.

I think what Hannah is doing is a good idea, should give her a head start on other applicants and if not for this then it should stand her in good stead in the future.

Can I come to tea Jane, that pudding sounds delicious, messy kitchens don't bother me ....lol

I've got a feeling Frank that Alfie got trapped in the shed, the doors don't shut properly even with the bolt across there's still a bit of a gap at the bottom and I think he just kept pushing until he managed to squeeze through. Had it been a fox or something I'm sure there would have been a lot of blood and nasty gashes.

Managed to get some photos of the 'new me' I will send, even after a double helping of maple and walnut cheesecake smothered in double cream ..... yum ...... Will I ever lose my sweet tooth. Well yes I hear you say if I keep eating puddings I won't have any teeth left ...lol

Evening Folks!

Lovely sunshine again but very blustery and drying the soil even more.

Maureen, you didn't look overweight before, but what a slim and trim achievement......good legs too! Well done! It must feel great being able to take your clothes in. I haven't done that since my 30s. lol I like your light and airy room, similar to mine and with a wooden floor too. But my walls are still quite bare, not graced with lovely paintings like yours are!!! lol That clematis looks very pretty and is full of flowers. Mine on the new obelisk is just opening so I'll see if I can send a pic when it is open......a lot less flower buds though.

Today we planted a few more things and I plugged some holes between the rocks in the bottom border before OH digs it over for me. I have planted some sweet peas and ordered another obelisk for them to climb up. They were 25 per cent off and called Summer Sizzler.....how could I resist. lol

We went a short walk along the Oxford Canal near Brinklow today. Never been there before and at last.......got some snaps of some ducklings with their parents. Sweet little things with such an attentive mum. We came back via a place called Ansty and OH took me to show me something quite strange. There are 2 bridges over the road about 60 feet apart. The first is a railway bridge, but the second is the canal going OVER the road. Seems most odd!!

Jane Report 2 May 2011 19:38

Oh My Word Maureen!!!.What can I say.Well done to you.As Ann says you didn't look overweight when we met.I want those legs!!

David ,I can't think a post nasal drip should taste metallic.I f it continues I would get it checked out.

Ann I think we have Obelisks down in the veg patch for sweet peas.I think they might be there to attract the bees.(not sure on that though)
