Frank Report 16 May 2011 20:00

Well I am here, just. Started the morning off by putting up the fly screen. Then set two rows of carrots, and transplanted a row of lettuce. Feed and water all the Veg and greenhouse. Pulled the first of the raddish, and set some more. Watered and feed the tomato plants in the little wire baskets down the drive and watered the front garden.

I then repared the door catch on the patio door, to keep it open. THEN I STARTED the pole. What a job. !!!! Had to get the old curtains and rail down. Get rid of the old fittings. Then had to drill and plug wall in six different places. Brick dust all over her makeup, and windowsill. When Ros came back 5.30 She had to clean everywhere and iron the new curtains. We got them up and they look fine. In between all this I got dinner.

I'm just about knackered now, so going for a shower and put dressing gown on.

Still no sign of rain.!!!

Sounds like Chester needs a good run around the garden Jane!! lol Get it out of his system!!

Well, how interesting and good old Raleigh!! I look forward to seeing what he has sent to Fitz. Tell him more searches will be great.....we need new avenues to explore!! lol :D :D

Anne, it sounds as if you had a good time with those records today. Yes, reading the writing could be quite tricky I expect.

Maureen, maybe the cats are upset about the new decking appearing on their doorstep.......marking their territory!!

Mel, I like those umbrella plants too. They look very nice when they have made a bunch of the stems. I had one years ago in the 80s I think and split it many times to give to friends. It will look lovely in your pond setting.

I bet Merlin enjoyed seeing some new scenery outside his field Liz and so good he behaved and still knew the ropes. I bet Ian felt it was like old times again......good for his spirits.

Is your new name SUPERMAN Frank lol.I'm glad you are all in once piece lol
Not a good night here.Hannah just heard she didn't get the placement but is on the list of reserves.I'm not sure how it all works ,but what with the house and this she is at a very low ebb.It is very difficult to know what to say.Everything just seems to have been against her these last few years.I keep trying to say things will look up ,but as she said "how long have you been saying that Mum".Oh dear !.
Sheila you sound like you have had an interesting day !!! Beryl her usual self lol.She is a one.
Is April on holiday or a long weekend? She obviously has great fun staying with you.

I will say night night now .Not off to bed just yet ,but will go and sit with Hannah for a bit and see if she is up for chatting.I doubt she will but I can just try.

Kim I hope your DRs appointment goes well, and hope your Daughter is on the mend now .I was wondering about your board name. The ME bit.Do you suffer from M E ? I hope you don't think me rude in asking

Just watching Strangeways. To think Hannah has worked with prisoners like that !!
Night Night All xx.

I'm going for a bath and then to bed with my book

Jane , poor Hannah , I am really sorry she didn't get the replacement, what with all the troubles over the last few years as you say , a person can only take so much. every time she has a knock back things just feel worse and worse, aw Bless her , I know what it's like to have daughters who are very low and depressed.

A shame Hannah didn't get a placement this time Jane, but with fierce competition she did well to be on the reserve list. If you try to progress at work, disappointments and setbacks will happen and I'm sure she would be feeling and acting like a different girl if that house had gone and she wasn't under such strain because of it. I expect she will ask for feedback and that may be helpful. She needs to keep telling herself that at least she has a home, her health, a job and supportive parents.......priceless really!!!! Oh and to be so thankful for that pretty face she sees in the mirror!! lol :-)

Hello everyone,

Back from Sydney. Jane sorry to have given you a surplus grandchild. Yes it is my dipsey (not tipsey) brain that gets in the way. Clever lady, yes I have ME, 16 years now and you are not rude for asking. I have the best doctor in Australia and he has kept me alive for quite a while now. The last 8 years have been the worst as it had led to quite a few autoimmune diseases which I have to manage and my adrenals often go into failure. So if I get a little mixed up, you will all understand why.

Ham Hill is in Somerset somewhere. I remember seeing The Giant, so it might be around that area or close vicinity. Norton-Sub-Hampton, Little-Sub-Hampton, something like that. Memories are a bit vague. No, I didn't go to the festival just the town to have a look around. Is there a cathedral there, I'm sure I remember one? Yes, I don't know how these girls in tents will go without life's essentials (their version). My daughter won't go out without hair extensions and thick makeup - pretty enough without all that stuff!! She has all the hair must haves and I get by with just my hair-dryer.

I am pretty housebound, so I enjoy the genealogy and having contact with my email pals. I found my father's cousin through Genes and now have a lovely relationship with that family. We did go to meet them a few weeks back - took a lot out of me, but well worth it!!!!

Just as well we took Miranda with us today. Richard (doc) was horrified with the toxic cocktail of drugs the hospital had given her. Said it was enough to kill a large horse (sorry Merlin and other pet horses) and inappropriate for treating her kidney infection. Interns at hospitals, but what can you do when it's the first port of call and you see a different doctor each time!!!!

Just got a scam bank call and had to ring the police - now I need to get on to our banks and alert them. I didn't give banking details, just the name of the banks - enough apparently for them to find us on the internet. Will let you all know how it goes. Keith is going to kill me!!!!!

Bye for now, Kim

Morning All,

Bit dull here today.

So glad that Frank managed his tasks yesterday without injury and just as well the bed was there for a soft landing! We do worry about you Frank with your track record!

Sheila that naughty Beryl up to her tricks again and giving her oppions to all and sundry. Hope you have had fun this week with little April give her my love please.

Jane I was a bit muddled by the quotation "My son's daughter" and glad that is now sorted!

Kim our nurse Jane has to know all the in's and out's of all our threadateers. M E is a really cruel thing to have but I am pleased you have a good doctor that looks after you well. What a dreadful thing about the drugs your daughter was given.

OH is moving stone this morning so I think he will be stoning the wall today on the front of the garage.

KIm I'm glad I didn't offend you.I am just a nosy old ***** Thank goodness you have a brilliant doctor. You obviously have a lot of faith in him.It was when I saw you say you had monthly appointments that made me wonder about the M E.

I really need to get things done this morning and not sit here on my backside on the pooter.
I think I will turn it off until about lunchtime.See you then

Frank Report 17 May 2011 11:15

Would you ADAM AND EVE IT. Posted for ten minutes, and lost the B~~~~~ lot.

Start again,

Here we are again happy as can be, all good friends and jolly good company,

Had a very iffy night, with a lot of cramp and back pain. Went to bed at TEN after a barny with Ros. I know it was because I was stressed out and over tired. So I got up at eleven and apoligised. Was back in bed by 11.30pm.
Have got to make a slight alteration to the pole (BUT NOT TODAY)I have been told "YOU DO NOTHING TODAY"
Sorry about your news JANE. Give her a big hug from SUPERMAN FRANK. and I do hope her luck changes sooooon.

It sould like you are building ADRIANS WALL down there Mel, I bet it will look great when its finished. I had an old Mill Stone when at the P.O. but it was too large to bring with us when we moved. They always make a nice centre piece.

Kim,, please take care of yourself, now we have found you we don't want you getting ill, and dissapearing !!! When we were in Sydney, we lunched at the FISH MARKET over looking the bay, with all the pelicans trying to get at your food. The seafood was out of this world and cost so little for what we had. CRAB, LOBSTER,SCALLOPS,PRAWNS, and other little bits, bowl of salad and beers for the two of us. I think it came to less than $30.00 over here it would have been nearer £100.00. While there I bought a scraper type of gadget. it makes it easy to pick up chopped carrot and onion. Every time I use it I think of Sydvey.

Maureen. Can't the vet give ALFIE one of these "LAMPSHADE" covers to go over his head to stop him scratching at his ear.

Trust everyone is well including SHELIA. !!!

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 17 May 2011 11:53

Frank I thought of the lampshade thing for Alfie and you can buy them in pet shops I think. Or you could make one out of cardboard Maureen and use selotape to stick it together round his little neck.

A little rain in the air now but only just.

Oh I just lost everything I had typed :-(

Fiona we had such a happy day with this family. They are outback sheep farmers and have led a very different life to this city girl. At this stage, I have stumbled into the middle of a huge, family feud, lol. Think they want to adopt me :D I have found lots of people on Genes - hope you get to Ireland one day to meet your relatives.

Mel, I thought it was my muddle until I went back and re-read the post :D Ragdolls are lovely no matter who owns them. Jane can be my consultant nurse on here!!! I have Muddles in my family - two sisters married two Curtis brothers. Now that is a real muddle

OH is sitting here at his computer with a mask on and a very runny nose. Very grumpy when he's sick!!! I wish he would just go to bed. Tomorrow he will be at the office spreading his germs around.

Jane and Mel I am one of the lucky ones as Dr Richard has now closed his books to all but the under 25's. His practice is huge - apart from all his other patients, he has over 3000 of ME/CFS people, plus all the troubled teens he works with. He is a wonderful man. If I have to have dental work, he has a dentist in the same rooms and will come in and check all my vitals during and after the work. Google Richard Schloeffel - there is a website showing his practice and rooms.

I contacted the banks, so they are on notice. They warned there will probably be a "fishing for info." telephone call in a few days. I won't be so silly again!!!! Someone rang me the other day to check on my computer. My elderly Somerset friend got stung for $300 and wasn't compensated at all. Terrible people out there feeding off the vulnerable folk in our communities :-(

Off to have some ice cream and check the tv guide. Have a good day all.

MEgirl

MEgirl Report 17 May 2011 12:12

Frank I will try to stay here for the long haul. Hope you fix your pole and your traction works well. Oh goodness that sounds terrible, well you know what I mean. Glad you have fond memories of Sydney - how long ago was that?? Don't think you would get a meal for that price now and most of the seafood is coming in from Asia. We always have to make sure we get Australian prawns as the rest is very dicey. At The Entrance, which is just that, the lake meets the sea, the pelicans are fed by the local rangers every afternoon at 3.30. The like to sit on the top of the lamps and they are very fat!! It is quite an attraction and not to be missed. Lots of Sydneyites come up to see them.

Have you heard about the Keli Lane case over here - not sure if it reached your news. Her baby Tegan went missing in 1996 two days after her birth. Keli has been jailed for 18 years for murder, although they never found a body. Reason I am asking is that I am reading a book "Nice Girl" all about this case. She kept having babies and adopting them out, but poor little Tegan wasn't so lucky.

Changed my mind about the ice cream, too cold!!

Sheila Report 17 May 2011 14:20

Hi everyone we had some news today Jessica had her baby son last night he weighed in at 6Ib 2. and he is called Matthew Tree .My ho was not amused by that name.Uncle Bryne is the culprit he said Matty loved his forest and trees in Snowdonia forests having been around them all his life and when in the choir in New York they had a tree for an emblem most of the lads were workers or tree surgeons which they called themselves. I told Michelle and she said Matthew what. I said tree you know those things that grow everywhere. Her comment or blimey it sounds ok I think poor lad though when he gets to school. Mind you with first names like Apple and Romeo l think its sort of cute.!!! Tree. My neighbours son was called Rock after film star Rock Hudson. My friend who works In the pet shop called her son Domino. Anyway both mother and son are well I spoke to my daughter and she said I am fine but no fuss please mum my joy is spoilt by not having Mat and he looks just like him when he was a tiny baby. sad really.

Instructions by phone no baby congratulation cards and would we let Jessica get over the birth before decending upon them with April. I do not know whoes instructions those were but if that is what they want .I will not go for a while to see the baby just hold on to April. However the childs education is not going to be good all this time off school.I have given you many examples of her bad english. The latest being last night. I said April
how do you spell Thursday. She looked at me and said thats easy THIRSTY .I said that is thirsty you know when you want a drink and she said well it sounds like thirsty Thursday . I spent 1 hour before bed teaching her Thursday. She got it right except for one letter today. I wondered if April was a little deaf I said do you hear ok she said oh yes I can hear you nannie just cant spell. What is that school doing mind you they teach them in a funny way these days My ho said the kids daft not deaf he would a spade is a spade with my hubby no messing.

Well the lady who is the aunt of Jedwood still is calling there euro song Lollypop when its Lipstick which I was copying you would think she could get something right today she was showing the two little lads singing in the choir such cute boys. The lady admits she liked them better then. April
adores them and she said to the auntie you are silly you do not know what there song is called.I gave her a quick sharp shove out of the shop door. kids.

I love the name of your children Kim Joel and Miranda .I nearly emigrated to Australia even made it to Australia House but found out I was having my son and so we did not go. That was over forty years ago. I think the spiders and thingies would have put me off. I was getting some card to make birthday cards and things last week and a huge spider ran up my arm and down my neck I screamed so loud my husband and two customers came running in the lounge. My hubby said what is wrong I said my arms just run up a spider. The people laughed a lady I did not know said do you not mean a spider ran up your arm . I felt realy daft .
Having a shop on top of your living quarters sometimes is a real bad disavantage.

Jane so sorry about Hannah not getting what she wanted the poor girl does not have much luck a bit like my Michelle work hard and do not reap the reward. Her time will come. Determination is the thing.

Beryl is barmy she said when I told her Jess had got her baby son she wanted oh what does Michelle say loosing hers. I feel like hitting my friend sometimes. I am really happy but Jessica I wonder will she cope she seems to have problems sorting poor April out lately it seems shes been the little mum

Will go now I have to go to Beryls and help Donnie into a suit he is going to
have a afternoon with that rich relative I mentioned .Beryl refuses to help him get ready because she is not going. I cannot see Donnie without his leather and studs. I think he may clean up nice looking. I told him he had to shave and shower and clean his shoes. Why madam cannot do that I do not know why he cannot do that I do not know. I had this phone call saying Sheil you wont let me down will you I do not know how to do a tie it ends in a knot then I cannot get it off. I had to giggle to myself. Well I will go and see if my car will go and make sure my neighbour still will let April play with Maddie . If not she will have to come and you can bet April will say something she should not. I have a hard life. These days. I miss the charity shop it got me out the place more often for a laugh and a chat with sane people. Not counting Sophia she is a hoot she is working in the bakery again eating most of the food.

It is still rain in the air here and has been raining softly since this morning. OH is not amused but is pushing on with the stone work.

It is looking nice.
