House warming/ birthday party was a great success, son seemed quite happy to be manning the barbeque all day, even though he doesn't eat meat, very lucky with the weather it was the best of the days.

Have been trying to do stuff in the garden but I can't stand that wind. Have decided I'm not going to do anymore flowers from seed again, they take forever and the slugs or something have had a good old munch on lots of them, it just seems like too much hassle, will buy already established ones next year, they are quite reasonable from the boot sale. I have planted my spindly sweet pea Ann, let's see if they come to anything.

Hopefully daughter is coming tomorrow with baby Harry, so will get the camera all charged up for photos.

Going to stay in now and do some sewing.

Hi All-----Well I call it --'TEAMING-RAIN--back yard looks like a Tip Had made a start broke up wooden flower bed at base of deck,-- Lost most of the soil with the rain,----Also took part of chian link fence down to put up New wooden one and gate- Have been waiting to have Tree cut But cant do it when it's raining-------I cant go one way or an other just now, Some flowers I did have are starting to rot ''HELP''######

Third time LUCKY!!!!

The wind here is very strong at the moment and looking very much like rain. Scotland are even getting it more than we are.

Went to get my bins in this morning, and the lid was down the road. You should have seen me hobbling down the road trying to catch it. I even put a lot of neighbours bins up the side of their housed to stop them being blown away. When they get home tonight, they will think the binmen were kind and put them away !!!! (SOME HOPE)

Ros is at the Hospital, having her eye test done because of her diabites. Her friend has taken her as she is not allowed to drive for some hours after the test.

I hada terrible night last night. Went to bed 10.15pm still awake at 2.30am. was up again at 6.30am just couldn't rest. Feel like going for a liedown now. But will make a cup of tea and read my book instead. I am not on top of the world today. and could bite a nail in half. !!!! Must try to control it, poor old Ros. will get it otherwise. But I can't do anything about it, and my Doctor dosen't seem to bother, when I go to him about it. He just says "It's all part of your stroke" and won't give me anything for my TEMPER. That's if there is anything available. Can anyone surgest anything ????

Poor old SHIRL, Will your weather ever get any better.??? When does your summer start ???

Ros spent half an hour this morning tieing up the tomato plants. She says they are all getting flowers on. These are the ones I told you about from CONRADS tomato. If the produce fruit, which I think they will. I will have to Market the seeds next year, also ther tomato plants.

Not going out to water this evening. Just going to settle down after dinner and rest and relax.

Was at Blyth earlier today.Storm force winds.Rain comming down sideways with sleet in it.
What temperemental weather.

Afternoon everyone ,
This wind is terrible , had to tie the Gazebo down with some bricks as weights !! DIL was holding one side and i was holding the other side ,son came and tied it down for me ,it was the gusts that were lifting it up !!!
One good thing is the washing stayed on the line and was dry in no time !!

DIL had a text from Jake's school to say that the Bee's were swarming near the school again ,and to be careful when coming to get the children from school , they were on the church bell tower last week ,looks like their back again !!!
We never saw them when we walked Toby ,we thought they had gone .
Poor Toby , he goes outside ,then the wind gusts and he comes shooting in with his tail between his legs !!

Have you tried one of those stress balls Frank , or perhaps you could get a punch bag !!

Forgot to say our electric went off a while ago ,probably caused by the wind !!

Well I started ironing and then thought I would ring up about our BT Vision box. After a while of a recorded message on how to restart it as we have been doing for over a week now I then rang 118 500 and asked for BT. The lady gave me a number for a technition. Was on the phone for ages to him, an indian or asian gent, who then had to speak to OH cos I was'nt sure how the thing is connected. I was even asked what clour the box was, silver or black. I think we have one of the first ones which is silver and the newer ones are black. We asked for a new box but got the reply that they would send a technition (sp) out on the 1st of June. So thats another week without the bl**dy thing......

OH even said he may cancel the contract before then!!!!

I am lost without my replay as I watch all the programs I want to see when OH has gone to bed. I am fed up with watching Grand Designs with dinner as they are even repeats. Would'nt be so bad if they were new ones.

Are the call centres for the likes of BT and many commercial institutions really in in Bombay or Calcutta,or does it just seem like it?

Well we've had a good old sprinkle of rain here as well as the awful wind. I hope it wasn't too bad where Fiona is.

David that sounds awful weather.......I was at Blyth a couple of years ago with OH. While he was at the match there he suggested I go for a walk on the beach!!! lol Suddenly there was horizontal sleet that stung my face.....not nice!!

Shirl, what will the weather do next where you are!! So frustrating when you get in the mood to start things then the weather stops you. You MUST be due some fine weather soon.

We went to a roofing place a few miles away this morning and got some secondhand slates that will be just the job to slide in the soil next to the fence at the top of the garden to stop next door's soil spilling over the slate chips when they are down. They had a lot of different sizes and were very cheap.

On the way back we saw a dead Blackbird on the road in the close. OH thinks it may have got blown into the path of a car in all this wind. I just hoped he hadn't left a wife and babies in a nest waiting for him to bring dinner.

Ordered more sand and cement and it's coming Wednesday. Been raining here most of the day and now the sun has just come out when it is too late to put the washing on the line. Blast!

Doid some ironing but got fed up with it. OH has some shirts to wear now anyway and I can change the bed as I have done a pile of pillow cases and the bottom sheet.

Chicken for dinner tonight. May do it and bung it in oven for half an hour in chicken and mushroom soup, carrrots and broc with rice I think nice and easy.

Frank it must be very difficult when you feel like that. Slow breathing, listening to music or going for a walk might help.......and of course telling Ros how you feel!! I must say I like the sound of the punchbag!! :-)

Electric has been off again , only clicking off and then on again ,but it a nuisance as the clocks have to be reset !!

Raining here now at last !! the sky is really black ,i hope it rains all night ,the garden certainly needs it ,

Ann, is your throat better today ?

Half an hour ago or less found a dead black bird in my back yard/garden.
I leave food out for cats and hedgehogs and of course birds.
I get my share of magpies and they are aggressive birds.
I think one has been the cause of the death of the blackbird.
It's now buried in the border against the fence.

It is quite a lot better Mandy, thank you. I was dreading it going on to be a chest infection, having had bad ones in the past, but it seems to be going. Looks like your garden is getting a good watering too!! :D It is annoying having to keep resetting the clocks.......I suppose each time it happens you think it is the last!

At MIL's yesterday we noticed they had a new doorbell. OH asked if the old one had packed up, but no it hadn't. For a few days they had heard a loud ticking but couldn't find where it was coming from, so they decided it was the doorbell. FIL had got it off and taken a battery out of it and put a new one in but they could still hear the ticking. He then broke it open, but the ticking carried on!!! They then discovered the smoke alarm light was flashing and that the ticking was coming from there because it needed a new battery!! Because they had broken the door bell they had to get another. Honestly!!! lol Why didn't they get one of the neighbours to come and have a listen......they are all very helpful. Oh and FIL thinks he can mend the electric saw if he can get the snapped screws out, so he will give us one back if he can. OH thinks we will get the new one as FIL likes his old one he is used to even though it is identical except for the colour!! lol

Thanks Mandy. A punchbag indeed. The chances are it would hit me back. Knowing my luck !!!!

Mel, you sound like Ros. When I go to bed she starts watching OPERATIONS or anything to do with accidents. She loves them, also QVC and Gems tv. Sometimes I have to come and wake her up at about 2am.

I must go and get a few states/tiles as the neighbour has just taken down a bit of fence.That will do a "PROPER JOB" Cornwall saying.
