Afternoon All,
Sorry to hear your news Kim. Sometimes when you think back to happy times it is hard to believe it when these things happen. I am enjoying the e-mails too......and everyone else's. :D
Oh dear, I do feel sorry for Ros Frank being in so much pain like that. I do hope these new tablets help.
I had an awful night, nose and bloodshot eyes streaming and face and jaws aching, kept waking up. I don't know if my bad throat has turned into a cold or it is hayfever. Anyway, taken hayfever tablet and paracetomol this morning and it has helped a lot.
Forgot to say yesterday, when OH was walking to where the exam was with another lady, a boy ran up to him and said, 'please Sir, there's a fight over there'. lol Luckily the lady told the boy to go and find a teacher. I think OH was glad.......he said they were BIG lads!! lol

Well `I have just come in from pulling up a lot of bluebell plants that have died off. They look a mess, but are so easy to pull out.It was in the front garden ,and Chester was in the back by the side gate.I think he could hear me ,but because he couldn't see me started barking his head off.Naughty boy.I daren't let him in the front just in case he dashed out the gateway if he saw anyone walk by .He is like a bullet out of gun lol
I hope Ros is not in so much pain today Frank and that she can soon start taking the new tablets. Please tell her we all think about her.
Kim I'm sorry you had that sad news.Did June live near you? I think it is time for a cuppa and then I will have another go out the front.

Hallo you checky little B How's Canada. ??? It's a good job you are so far away, as I can see you could be in for slapped legs. I know you would like that !!!!!
Jane you made my toes curl, when you said about Chester getting in the front garden. Many years ago when living in Gayton. Ros was in the front garden with "TWIGGY" our little brown poodle. When a visitor pulled up opposite the house which was on a country lane. Twiggy decided to run out to see who it was, and squeezed through the hedge straight into a car coming down the lane. She is burried in that back garden with a headstone !!!! Please look after Chester .
Did you all enjoy the little ducklings being blown along in the wind. It's a wonder the survived.
Was looking for a drop of wet stuff, but nothing, so I have been watering. now the suns gone in.Everywhere is so dry, I bet it's this wind thats drying everything out !!
Leek Pie for dinner tonight. Nice and easy, and olny a dish and saucepan to wash up. !!!!! Apart from plates etc, and cleaning down the cooker and worktops.
No football tonight on tele, so will stay in a keep Ros company.
Annx, Don't blame the OH. the last thing he wants is to get into a punchup with kids.!!!
Fiona, you are certainly getting your share of the rain, up there. Has the "DUST" from Iceland had any effect on you. ????

Well I have faffed about all day and not got anything done!!
I did pick up OH's new back light he ordered after backing into something last week. £92.40 !!!!!!!!!
Still trying to fill up my big tank but there dos'nt seem to be much water left in the well as it is only dribbling out at a very slow rate. At the moment if I now want to water the plants in the tunnel I have to walk about 20 yards down to the tank and then back to the tunnel. Before it was just outside the top doors so I only had to walk up and down the tunnel. OH has a big pump in the tank but it only has a hose on it at the mo and that dos'nt get to the tunnel.
Frank I am so sorry that Ros is in such pain, do give her my love and I hope the new medication will help once she is on it.

Well the last 3 hours I seem to have been on the phone.First was Rachel from Dubai. So I have heard the whole story from when her waters broke, to taking the dogs to the Kennels at 3am on the way to hospital (took them half an hour for someone to wake up and take the dogs)whilst Rachel was having contractions every 10 minutes !! to the birth. She sounds a very happy Mummy ,but a very tired one. Then just after I put the phone down from her I had a call from an old friend(she is 72) to say she had to have her lovely Border Terrier called Widget put to sleep on Monday. She is devastated .Also she has had a thing removed from her shoulder which has been shown to be skin cancer. It was only last year she had a Mastectomy for Breast Cancer. She is a tough cookie and I'm sure she will bounce back. Now I need to think about putting some grub on for dinner. It's all go here lol

Hi All Just watched a silly film on TV while I was having my dinner. now I am going for a relaxing bath.
Frank , My OH managed to get a flight to Paris this morning. but only yesterday he was having problems getting to crew on the train because of the high winds all the trains were cancelled, it was touch and go if he would fly at all today as we weren't sure if there would be any flights out of Edinburgh airport, because of the ash cloud but the news was that all flights out of Scotland were back to normal from 2am this morning so everything is fine, and thankfully he will manage to get home tomorrow night as well it seems that the ash cloud is floating over to Germany at the moment but could be back over UK on Friday !!!
Glad Rachel & the baby in Dubai are fine Jane, you must be relieved to hear her sound so happy.

Glad your OH managed to get away Fiona. It's a bit of to do this ash problem isn't it.
Shirl.I had to send that pic of Ethan with his hat askew .it looks so funny.Apparently it kept slipping lol.He looks like a boy.Sometimes you can't tell ,unless they are in blue or pink. I feel happy now I have spoken to Rachel.I did say though for her to grab a bit of sleep when Ethan is asleep. She doesn't need to worry about housework as they have a maid (which is normal out there). My biggest worry is the 2 dogs they have. They are going to have to be very careful ,especially with one of them.
I am going to be off shortly.Got another good book, plus I just want to get into bed.I seem to go early these days.Does it mean I'm getting old ? lolol

Morning All on this horrid windy and wet day. Not raining at the mo but it has been as the ground is wet.
Fiona been thinking of you and hubby with this ash cloud as I know he is away a lot. You would think the rain would lay the ash wouls'nt you?
We have'nt heard from our Liz for a few days, do you think they are still decorating?
Frank how is Ros's back today? Give her my love please.
Is'nt it nice when we get a photo of a new life. Little Ethan is great and I think he is like his mum. xx
Should really go shopping today but I keep putting it off. I seem to just want to be at home at the moment and not go anywhere.
OH went ringing last night and I watched the Chelsea Flower Show on the telly. I do wish they would show more of the flowers and gardens than the presenters faces. I thought Carol looked very nice in her dress and bolero. I bet they have all had a time of it this year with everything being early.

Joel passed test for his green Ps today and sits on those for two years before he progresses to a full licence (yes!!!!).
Thanx for those condolences - the funeral was held yesterday, but I don't think I could have got there; a bit of planning required for a 2 hour trip to Sydney. I did get a nice email from her son and I was able to record my memories online as part of the tribute to her life. Jane she lived at Randwick just near the racecourse, so nearly two hours from here.
Jane thank you for the photo - a beautiful little boy. Annx how are you feeling today? Get better quickly.
Just a childhood memory before I lose all this again! I remember going to the Royal Easter Show with my family when I was about 18 months or so. Dad was carrying me through the turkey pavilion and starting making the gobbling sound. They all started up and the noise was unbelievable. A policeman at the exit was bending over covering his ears. He "escorted" us out and threatened to arrest my father for disturbing the peace if he saw him in there again. Next was the cattle pavilion - you can imagine what happened in there!!! :D
I do have memories of your wonderful champion "Red Rum" and a few photos of him at the Wincanton Races.
Time for dinner, BBL

Morning Kim Must have been a difficult day for you yesterday with your memories and thoughts of all the people at the funeral.
Jane i got the photo of Ethan, looks so cute with his lopsided hat, and nice to see him wide awake.
Wet and windy here again, I've almost forgot what the sun looks like. lol ;-) no one visiting today so I have a day to myself to get on with housework,
Must remember to put Sofia's high chair upstairs so OH can put it in the attic, she now wants to sit at the table on a big chair with cushions, so that's good as long as she SITS STILL , it was becoming hard work having to squeeze round the legs of the high chair , I only have a small dinning room and when the table is extended full out to sit 6 people plus high chair it's a tight squeeze.
Well I'm of to get dressed and I think it's coffee time BBL Quotation no 33

Morning all,
pooter playing up again this morning. or it might be me. !!!!
Ros has started her new tablets this morning. She says it feels a little easier !!!! fingers crossed . The perscription says one in the morning and one at night. I have told her to ring doctor to see if she could take more if needed. Anything to get the poor woman out of pain, It's not nice seeing your wife crying in pain. and there's nothing you can do to help.
Mel, That's how I get. Ros is always saying come out with me to Tesc# or B & # I just say "I'm allright here", I can do some jobs, or read my book.
We have had a drop of rain, and the clouds are very low at the moment. COULD IT BE WE ARE GOING TO GET SOME RAIN.
I have just finished my BRUNCH. Eggs bacon, black pudding, and fried mash potato's over from last night. Two slices of B & B. two cups of tea. I will be as fat as a pig if I carry on like this !!!!
Out and about again Jane, !! Don't get to much of that white wine down you. !!!! I mean spill it !!!

Hi Jane, yes Red provisionals 1 year and Green for 2. This is very different to when I got my licence and only Ps for one year. Joel's a very sensible lad behind the wheel, so I feel very lucky. Enjoy lunch today
Fiona, I'm good thanks - I have these precious memories. To be honest, I wouldn't have coped too well at the funeral, so it turned out just as it should have. Lovely lady though, always a twinkle in her eyes. She was very cheeky and my father was always laughing with her in some corner sharing a private joke together. So good when the little ones want to sit at the table!! I was so glad to pack away the high chair when my two were done.
Can anyone tell me about faffing????? :D

Hi Everyone, Yes we have finished decorating, thank goodness! not only that but my washing machine gave up the ghost on Sunday, bearings have gone in the drum?!! anyhow it was making a HORRIBLE noise, SO, Monday morning, off to Currys and came home with cheapest we could find, £199!! so at least we can be clean!! Yesterday the Fridge/Freezer also started making a HORRIBLE noise! Oh No! not again! but luckily Ian was able to fix it, the motor needed some attention! Anyhow with both machines, where they had been standing was absolutely FILTHY, so I spent a happy(?) time cleaning, I wondered what the smell was, now it seems to have gone!!!! no not really, I jest! 'Faffing' Kim means that somebody is being indecisive about a query, procrastinating, not saying one way or the other. Ian just come of the phone from EDF, had to wait 25 mins to get through! they sent a leaflet round putting up our direct debit each month nearly 100%!! apparently it's now been upt by £10, so that's a bit better!! Do hope Ros is feeling better Frank, nothing worse than being in severe pain. Thanks everyone for all the pictures, and the photo Jane. Hope everyone is OK.

Afternoon Everyone,
Well it's not just me then that doesn't always want to go out and has to go to bed early!!! lol
Lovely pic of the baby Jane. He does look like a little boy!
I had another restless night, but feel a lot better today Kim. I think it must be hay fever. I'm still taking the tablets for that anyway. I feel a bit tired today.....that is probably the tablets!!!! lol That lady sounds as if she was good fun to be around. What a shame she died.
I hope it's a good sign that Ros is feeling a bit better on the new tablets Frank. It must be awful to feel so helpless and it's your nearest and dearest. We are all keeping our fingers crossed for her. XXXX
We are off to the Council Chambers this afternoon to the meeting about the planning application for the field near us. We know they have been recommended to refuse it. It will be interesting to see what the grounds for refusing it will be.
Well done on getting the decorating done Liz. It feels nice when your rooms are freshened up. I hope Ian is progressing well now and getting out and about with Merlin.
Fiona I would love a day on my own to get on with things now!! You will have to keep things out of Sofia's reach on the table!! lol Little hands will be reaching for everything.
I bet Jane's catching up on the Chinese she missed. lol It has poured with rain a few times this morning........doing the garden a world of good.

Frank thanks so much for that recipe. I will print it up for Keith and he can make it one night for us.
Faffing - never heard that word, but I'll start using it over here. That will get them all thinking, lol. "Stop faffing around and get dressed", I can say that to my daughter now, takes her ages to choose what she's going to wear :D
Good night all, off to watch a late movie - 11.40 pm EST
