Oh has just come out and said he is going to Okehampton as he is ringing for church this morning. So I think I shall go in the shower and perhaps wash my hair afterwards.

Jane Report 29 May 2011 10:11

I have had my shower and hair wash and can't decide whether to let my hair dry on its own or use the dryer.Decisions Decisions lol
It is very blustery here this morning but so far dry.I could hang some washing out and hope we don't have a shower.

Nothing from Kim this morning.Thats unusual.
I have decided to go and dry my hair.BBL

Jane

Jane Report 29 May 2011 13:20

I'm still here Mel.Just having a break from the ironing. It is quiet isn't it.
I'm not cooking until this evening and it will be Italian Chicken with Saute potatoes, asparagus and peas.

Maybe everyone is out trying to bag a bargain in the Bank Holiday Sales.I was going to go and have a look about but can't be a***d lol

I see Shirl still hasn't managed to get back. How frustrating for her.I hope she gets sorted.

Afternoon everyone,
Dry here but so windy again.
Been to sons for coffee this morning ,called and got petrol, then went to Homeba*e for some Step Paint .

We them took ourselves off to Peter Beal*s to see if they could name the other rose we have that was my Grandmothers , a nice man there said he was not sure what it is he looked through several books , he said it might be an very old one that has now died out, he is going to get Peter Beale to have a look and see if he knows what it is and he will ring me on Tuesday .
Bought a new rose for the front garden called Comte de Chambord , its a nice pink one , and very fragrant too.

We stopped there and had some lunch and a drink, which was nice ,now i don't have to cook , we'll only want a sandwich later perhaps .
Hubby's watching the Grand prix , think i might get my Cross stitch out , i haven't done any for a while .

just make a cuppa first though.

I have just been looking at all the photos of Baby Ethan from just after he was born.Rachel has set up a photo gallery thingy.90 pics so far !!!!!!!.
I am sure there will be lots more to come lol.

Chris has just watered the WHOLE garden .It is bone dry.Another soaking later I think unless we have a decent downpour(which doesn't look very likely)
The wind is very strong, and it is actually quite warm so I think the ground will be dried out again pretty soon.

Now is there faffing and fuffing, I'm confused.

What a way to start, hello everyone. Rotten weather here, been bucketing down all day and cold.

OH took me to Erina Fair to get a few things for my birthday. He has been coming home with things (God love him) that don't suit me or I just wouldn't wear. Certain colours, styles. I'm not an orange or yellow sort of girl, they just make me look pasty (spell?).

So, instead of pjs and dressing gowns with slippers, I got a lovely warm scarf, a pair of earrings (just dress type, nothing expensive), a pair of jeans as none of my others fit - Size 8 again it's been years!!!!!! a pair of low heeled boots (can't wear high heels any more - too doddery) and a matching hand bag. Haven't I been spoiled - lucky it was a big sale. This lot will last me for years to come. Frank you are officially off the hook, lol :D :D This is the first time in 4 years that I had been shopping (had to go in the wheelchair, but that was ok). Keith is a terrible steerer - banged my legs and feet into several tables and stands and I went face first into the jumpers!! Well, he had his own jumper on back to front (discovered that when we got home). I thought something looked a bit strange when he went to pay for the petrol. That may well be the reason we were all over the place in the shops, haha.

Jane your bouquet is lovely - I don't believe I have ever seen roses of that colour!! Jiggling Jane - have you got a jewel for your belly? Good luck with those pants, they are very comfortable, I know. How did the frittata turn out by the way? haha I can just picture you in your kitchen - a sip here a dash there, lol. Yes, I think you are definitely a true, vintage wine (the best).

We have been having such a time with the internet - keeps going off. I have lost a couple of posts on here since yesterday, but I am reading on other threads that people are having trouble with the Genes site.

My daughter was doing a shift at K-mart tonight and there was a robbery. One fellow took off, a woman was involved also and they left a young boy in the shop with half the cash. Apparently, he was also the lookout - how low can they sink????? The police hadn't arrived by the time the shift had finished, but it will probably be in the local papers. Second time this group has been involved - they all got away last time :-(

Fiona, so glad your daughter and her boyfriend are safely home. What will happen now with the police investigation?

Hello to Mel and David. Is there any sign of Frank or Shirl yet?

I might go and watch some telly, before bed. It is 11.17 pm EST

BBL (if I stay awake).

Jane Report 29 May 2011 14:40

Kim,my Frittata was STUPENDOUS!.It was really good.I gave myself a gold medal lol
As for a Jewel in my Belly Button.I can't see my belly button.Size 8!!.I have never been that ,nor anywhere near it sadly .
You sound as though you have some lovely pressies for your birthday.I always tell my OH not to buy me clothes of any sort.He has no b****y idea lol and I always end up taking things back.He asked me want I'd like for my birthday in July.I just want perfume.I cannot be without it.I have had the same one for a couple of years now so may look for a new one.

As for that robbery.I think that people that use Children are the lowest of the low.Poor kid.It makes you wonder how his life will pan out .Not good I reckon .Don't me started lol

Faffing and Fuffing are the same .Liz has a great word for the same thing. She says Pickling around! .
:D

Afternoon Everyone.
Wet and soooooo windy here, went to Hom*ba*e for a new plug adapter and OH had to hang onto me in case I blew away, everybody at church this morning was moaning on about how fed up they all are with this wind, we have had it for weeks now.

since OH got this fish tank yesterday he has ordered a new cupboard to stand it on, as it's slightly bigger than the other one we have. so we will have to re arrange the dinning room furniture a bit .

Kim, who knows what will be the outcome of police investigation to do with the car accident involving my daughter and her boyfriend,
Nothing has been said to us about what the police have said it was all dealt with by boyfriends father as the accident happened in Inverness so our local police were not involved,
the Inverness police have the car as far as we know, But I know that daughters boyfriend is keeping in touch with his parents.
So we may get to know something in a few days time.

Need to do some ironing , Work shirts again OH away just for a couple of days to Germany, back Wednesday.
Hopefully now May is soon over he will be able to have some time at home.

The wind has really got up here !! so gusty, the Gazebo is lifting up again .
Been out and watered all the pots and the spray from the hose kept blowing in my face !!
Forgot i had a piece of Beef in the fridge ,so that's now in the oven cooking ,will have that cold tomorrow now .

Kim, thank goodness your daughter was ok after the robbery , lets hope they catch them soon before they do it again !! fancy using a young one to keep look out !! terrible .

i hope this wind doesn't take the electric off before my beef is cooked !!

Jane

Jane Report 29 May 2011 16:20

Fingers crossed that Beef will cook Fiona lol.I'm sure it will be delicious.
It is still blowing a gale here, but no rain.Chris has taken himself out to the summer house and is snoozing away lol.No doubt I will have to go and wake him.He looks very comfy stretched out on one of Hannah's sofas !!

I spoke to my sister on the phone just now ,and she asked if we could take/look after a big planter on a stand,as there will be no where to put it when they move house. It was her husbands parents and is about a hundred years old.Weighs a ton! .I said as long as you can get it here we will find a lovely place for it.I think it may be here forever lol ;-)

Jane Report 29 May 2011 16:23

Annx Report 29 May 2011 16:32

Afternoon All,

It's very dull and windy here now. Will have to check what plants need water later. While we were out for lunch, called in a garden centre I don't often visit and found some small Maori Hebes I had been looking for for ages. Four for £6, not bad price. We then called in an aquatic place and bought a pump for the little waterfall feature I'm planning to do. Less than half price....another bargain!

The only thing my OH buys for me is books or CDs or perfume he knows I will like. He loves books and is always rooting around in book shops and coming away with bargains. He wouldn't even consider clothes. Even I can't make my mind up on those half the time and have to take things back!! lol

I'm going nuts on these comparison sites for OH's car insurance. A lot don't cater for part time work and as for finding his new occupation!!! :S I think I will have to ring some instead. Still, I did find a deal on utilities that saved £83.......better in our pockets!!

I hate it when children are dragged into crime Kim. It must become such a way of life it becomes normal to do these things. They don't stand much chance.

I watched an old episode of He*rhunters this morning. The chap had died in a home, had mental illness and no family contact. A relation they traced said he had no mental illness before he was in the services in the last war and that he fell very much in love with a german girl, which was a big no no at that time. On the boat on his way home after the war his colleagues beat him up very, very badly and he developed mental illness shortly after. I must say I found it distasteful that these rellies were to get a share of his money.

Frank Report 29 May 2011 16:35

Annx

Annx Report 29 May 2011 16:44

Jane I think my OH is doing some snoozing too.........supposed to be watching tv!! lol He seems to have run out of steam today.

David, was that Dennis doing the drilling? He did well didn't he and the life obviously suited him to have risen in the ranks like that.

Kim your trip to the shops sounded like a comedy! lol My sister uses a wheelchair (OA) and says she needs eyes in the back of her head when her OH is pushing her. lol

Annx

Annx Report 29 May 2011 16:56
