Lemon curd is too sweet for me now.
If I hadn't such a sweet tooth as a child I wouldn't have as many fillings, and I undoubtedly would have those missing teeth.
These days a dentist is ready and skilled to repair a tooth.
Back then it was just a matter of pull it out.I regret my neglect.

Lying naked on top is preferable to withing around all night under sheets or duvet for me.If it cools down I can always pull it over me.

We are packing,waiting for news.

I have to a cover over me in bed even when its hot , i keep waking up if there's nothing over me, i always have my feet hanging out of the bed to cool off.

I love Prunes and Rice Pudding , put the stones on the side of the dish and say the rhyme
Tinker , Tailor ,Soldier ,Sailor ,Rich Man , Poor Man , Beggar Man ,Thief .

Jane Report 3 Jun 2011 19:49

I hated it Mandy when I only had enough stones to be 'poor man' or 'thief' lol
My feet are always hanging out the side of the bed.,and I moan that the mattress gets too hot,and the pillows.I must turn them over a dozen times every night lol.
David ,did you manage to get boxes from Tes*?Do you have a date yet for your actual move?

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 3 Jun 2011 20:08

I turn my pillows if i get out to the loo in the night , my friend bought a silk pillow case and she said that's lovely and cool to sleep on , but i don't think i'll be buying one as it was £25 !!!!!! for one ,not a pair !!!

Its supposed to help to retain moisture in your skin and hair, helping minimise wrinkles and prevents "bed head" frizz and static.

Jane Report 3 Jun 2011 20:22

I have a silky pillowcase(not real silk) lol.I always wake in the morning with one side of my hair totally flat but pushed up into something like a parrots head lol(those feathers that pop up).I look a bit like a punk rocker.Just need the nose and eyebrow ring things!
Off to dish up now.I am blooming starving!!!.I could eat a horse :-P

Hi Everyone. Happy Anniversary Frank and Ros and heres to many more. Do enjoy your takeaway. Have spent the last two days outside in the wonderful sunshine.Yesterday we went to the Himalayan garden and it was gorgeous. There were quite a few people there but it did not detract from the wonderful display. Took some photographs and hubby is going to download some for me so I can send them to you all.
We have had all out meals outside and had the moth trap on both nights with good numbers caught. It has been very hot at night as well and I also like to have something covering me' hubby sleeps without the quilt so I get it all to myself.
All the doors and windows are still wide open and we are both wearing very little! I used to make lemon curd in the microwave but have not done any for ages. It's quick and easy to make and lovely to taste.

Evening All
What a great day it has been really hot, Took Sofia to the park, then we went to buy some more shorts and T shirts for her holidays.
Then came back and spent some of the afternoon, playing in the garden, OH made a sand pit and Sofia had a great time making sand pies, first time she has played with sand, when her daddy came to take her home she didn't want to go, so we had a BBQ and SIL stayed and they had the dinner with us. also daughter no 2 and boyfriend , so it was a lovely evening,
All gone home now and I have cleared away and just thinking of having a shower.

think it's going to be another warm night. I mostly lie on the top sheet too or stick my feet out to cool.

going for my shower
BBLbefore bed.

I wake up with a 'Mohican' some mornings Jane! lol As OH has no hair on top he wakes up with 'horns'.

Mandy it must have been smashing by the sea.....hmmmmm I can smell the air now. I always seem to get tired and sleep like a log when we holiday near the sea so maybe it is the fresh air.

OH is a very happy bunny working away in the garden. He cleared all the weeds today, has watered everything tonight and sorted 1 end of the garage so we can get in there. The patio man came today and we are just about sorted on what to have done now.......just a final decision to make on what slabs to have.

Hope you feel ok again now Frank and enjoy your meal. Sensible to take it easy......and keep Ros happy too!!

I'm off to bed now......want to be up early to go to M*S down the road.......it will be packed with queues to the carpark tomorrow. Night night everyone.....hope you all keep cool.

Behave David!! Is it just us ladies who have to dangle our feet out at night?I never hear a man say that.
Yes a Cockatoo ,that's what I look like. Not a good look really lol.Chris just looks and says "HAIR"
I think it will be an early night for me.I have my book ready to go up with me.
The heat has been quite exhausting today.Chris was pooped when he got in from work.He had his dinner and has gone straight to bed.He will no doubt be snoring Norman by the time I get up there lol.

Anne ,its great to be able to eat outdoors isn't it.Where do you put the Moth trap? I remember you mentioning this before.
I think I will say goodnight now.Sleep well everyone.I will think of us all dangling our bits out to keep cool lol
Night Night x ;-)

Just heard this mentioned on the television , i haven't heard this one for a while .

Ladybird ladybird fly away home,
Your house in on fire and your children are gone,
All except one and that's little Ann,
For she crept under the frying pan.

I've never made Lemon curd ,i do want to make some Strawberry Jam , the little ones love a jam sandwich.

Ann, it was a really lovely day ,we said in the school holidays we would take them to Cromer ,when the tide goes out there are lots of little rock pools , which the crabs get caught in, will get them to take their fishing nets .

Fiona, glad your now getting some warm and sunny weather at last , nice that you can get out into the garden with Sofia .

Morning All
Did we all have a good night?Mine was fine until I woke about 4 with sore and mucky eyes.My left one was just about glued shut.I reckon it is related to the pollen.I remembered yesterday I had the air con blasting straight in my face in the car and then rubbing my eyes.I was probably sucking the pollen in lol

It is cloudy this morning, still warm I think although I haven't been outside yet.
Time to get dressed now so BBL

Morning All,

Had a good day in the garden yesterday. Finished painting some more canes. I always paint them with that garden paint as I am sure it is the canes that carry the red spider mite in the tunnel. Planted up two tanks, the two urns, and a big cement urn thingy with three non stop begonias. OH did a little red rick wall to hold back the grass from the road by where the new build is. At the moment he is digging away on the digger flattening it all out.

Have another wedding to ring for today at 2.15pm for 2.30pm wedding. Going off for a shower now.

Never went in the tunnel yesterday! Much too hot.

The yellow jam tart was the one I always went for first as a child. Yes it was lemon curd.

Mandy you can make a small amount of strawberry jam in the microwave. I do it in there as it is so quick but you must have a nice big bowl otherwise towards the end it may go over.

I just knew you would get in before me Jane.

My eyes too felt a bit mucky this morning but I had put it down to watching too much telly last night. Did'nt go to bed until after 2am as I knew I would'nt sleep otherwise.

Morning Jane
Morning Mel

Not sure if it's the pollen in Sofia's case but the little one had a a red and sticky eye yesterday and had yellow puss in the corner, I thought she may have the start of conjunctivitis she kept rubbing it which made it look worse, I told SIL when he came but knew he wouldn't remember to tell daughter so I text her before going to bed last night, hope it's not bad this morning.

Dull cloudy here, hope the sun comes out this afternoon,
OH out on his bike, so we will do the food shopping this afternoon after lunch.

coffee time.
Mel I think it's a lovely touch to a wedding to hear the bells, it's really something nice to remember on the brides special day but it must be very hard work for you , does your arms ache after ?

Morning all,

All this talk about going to bed with no cloths on !!!! this is a family thread. Joking apart. We only ever have a top sheet and a cotton throw. Summer and Winter. When we go upto Conrads. I sleep on top of the bed, can't stand the weight of cloths on me. Ros is starting to feel the cold (OLD AGE) so I bet this winter it will be a light blankert also.

Another little game I played with my two was "Fly away Peter Fly away Paul." they could never work out where the paper went.

Had a Chinese last night. Thought we would get it from one of the oldest in the area. No where as good as it use to be. That will teach us to stay with what you know !!!! I suppose tonight will be an Indian. But I know she won't want to go to the restaurant. So it will be a Takaway again.

Conrad and Jan are coming for lunch tomorrow. LEG OF LAMB (again JANE) It's Jan's favourite meat. So I am treating her. We managed to get fresh peas,Broad beens, Runner beans. baby carrots, Jersey Royals, with Roast parsnips. With yorkshire pudding. I think we will have enough to eat.

Very changable morning today, quite a breeze, and a lot cooler. The lawn needs a trim, but I don't know that I should at the moment. I know I will get it in the neck if I do HER INDOORS

Hello everyone,

Weather has been all over the place today. I sat on my boney butt in the pool yard and did some weeding this afternoon. Stubborn little buggers they were, and I am totally pooped now. One of our elderly neighbours brought me up some muffins, so I had a good excuse to stop and have a cuppa.

OH is walking around the house in his beanie. I talked him into wearing it as his temp. is always so low. That did the trick!!! Hands are now warm and face is very flushed.

We had New York sirloin with mashed sweet potato, yellow and purple carrots, broccolini, mushroom and silverbeet for dinner. It was very colourful and delicious. Keith went to the growers' markets again today and came back with lots of goodies. I have never seen purple carrots before!!!!

Joel has gone off to a party and Miranda has just finished a shift at K-mart. It is very quiet tonight and my thoughts are very much with our sick neighbour as his mother's funeral was held in Victoria today. Their daughter flew down yesterday to represent the family. I feel so helpless, wishing we could do more for them and seeing him fade a little more each day. Preparing for the worst, but hoping for the best. Sorry, I'm a bit lost tonight.

Have a happy Saturday and if I don't fall asleep on the couch, I will come back and say goodnight. Have not worked on my family tree for weeks, such a naughty girl!!!!

Time is 8.55 pm EST and raining out there now. Cheers, Kim :-)

Morning all from a very different North Yorkshire. It's cloudy with a strong north easterly and, instead of yesterdays 27 degrees, its now 14. Must say that we feel more active today and I have done some ironing and dusting ( friends coming tomorrow)
whilst hubby has cut the hedge and washed some windows. One advantage of the wind being that the towels are blowing well on the line.At least I willk not be expected to water neighbours plants tonight. They have gone to Crete for a week and I am in charge of the pots and they have dozens. This year they have bought a hose pipe which is making life a lot easierI am always worried in case something dies but so far so good.
Jane We put the moth trap under the arbour which is out of the wind and we have been thrilled with the numbers of species caught. I never reolised just what is flying around out there at night..
Kim Can I come eat at your place?? sounds wonderful.
Off to make boring omlettes for lunch but we are having Italian tonight before the concert. :-) :-)
