Jane, we have had the cloud, but no rain. White clouds now and a bit breezy.
I have done it !!!! I managed to find my photo of the futon, and is now on sale on Ebay. What a clever boy I am !!!! Will have to sort out other things and get those sold.Dress shirts, a dinner suit with ties ,cumber band. Shoes, slacks.Overcoat. I never use them anymore since I retired, as we don't go out to DO'S anymore.!!! and I doubt they would fit now. !!!

Ahoy there me hearties!!! lol
Well we were so lucky yesterday.......no rain and lovely evening sunshine at Rutland. It was really good and very well run, with a short talk and presentation first with our biccies and drinks. You can borrow binocs free to take if you don't have any. Then we travelled to the other side of the reservoir to WHITWELL where the boat leaves from, (next to the Barnsdale turn Frank!!). It is a private company that runs the boat......crew were in spotless white shirts and ties and the boat was cleaner than my house!! Access to the boat was easy and flat and I managed to climb up on the top although you could sit inside below if you wanted (there was a bar in there too) Tim, who was looking for and pointing out the birds told us it was the best trip he had been on in the last 6 years for seeing them. We followed one bird for the length of the trip and he did dive for fish a few times but didn't catch any. Tim said the water was a bit murky with the wind blowing and the bird would have difficulty seeing the fish. He said they catch up to 8 fish in a day........not always from the reservoir!!!!! I got a few pics, but they fly too high for my camera range really. OH thought it would be the boat trip he would enjoy, but he enjoyed it all so much he has already told me we will go again next year, but for one of the dawn cruises........with breakfast included after!!!!! lol Guess what we called for on the way home.......fish and chips!! lol I will send a few pics when I have sorted them. Yes, Jane, my hair was standing on end by the time we got back!! lol
I bet James is enjoying just 'chilling' after getting home with all his stuff and getting it into the house. Jane's washing machine is going to be busy for a while I think, the fridge will empty more quickly and Chester will be wondering who is on walkies duty now!! lol I wonder how Hannah is coping with the mud?? :-S I saw someone in the paper with their stuff in a wheelbarrow......good idea.
I remember wet wellies chafing Mandy, when you had to take your socks off because you paddled in water that came over the tops of them or had worn a hole in them but hadn't realised!!

Frank. I have never sold anything on Ebay......is it easy? Like you I have stuff I will never use anymore and could do with selling it. We hardly need posh clothes anymore either and as OH would say, they have all SHRUNK!!! lol I still have my tap shoes in the loft somewhere and the leotard type things I wore with them!! lol

Have a nice lazy day ahead of me, unlike Jane who I guess will be pretty busy now James is home and just think of all those muddy clothes when Hannah gets back. I thought rain and mud was par for the course for Glastonbury wouldn't be the same otherwise, I bet she's having a whale of a time.
Sounds like a great trip Ann,something our other Anne would enjoy, all that wildlife. I bet you slept well last night.
I've sold quite a few things on e.bay. Here are a couple of tips Ann, get the postage right, if you see others selling the same kind of items take their postage as a guide. Also get your description worded so that there are no come backs. eg. don't say "perfect condition", or "as new", if there are a few marks on the item, better to say "almost like new" It's quite good fun when you get bids on your item but be prepared for no bids at all.

Afternoon all I'm not so good today, just taking it easy, I rang the doctors on Tuesday and managed to get an appointment for tomorrow morning, that was the earlist they could give me, I think it's the old problem I had before Helicobactor it seems to flair up now and again. I will just have to see what the doctors says. I bet your glad James is home Jane, not for the washing of course lol :-( Going back to watch the TV , not interested in doing much at all today

I had a bit of luck today. This morning while preparing a Lasangue for tonight. I saw a small open back lorry go down the close. He must have taken a wrong turn as her turned at the bottom and started back. I noticed he had a load of old Radiators, washing machines and scrap metal. I nipped out and flaged him down. He took my old washing machine and dishwasher. "RINGO" a big chap over the road came and helped him load them on his lorry.
We are metting Harvey at 4.30 to pick up the Bed chair. That can go in the garage now. Till I sell the futon. (I HOPE)
Ann, Both my boys sell things all the time on Ebay. As Maureen says. Always give a fair description. and make sure you cover yourself with the postage and packing costs. Conrad put down a P & P and it turned out it cost him more to send than he got for the item.!!!

HI arrived back from Stratford upon Avon where I have spent some very nice days with friend Annie who is recovering from her broken ankle after white water rafting and my grandaughter April and Jessica,s friend Ryan joined us also the dogs . Jasper developed kennel cough and is poorly he could not have anto biotics and chokes and splutters everytime he eats anything I find it a bit upsetting.I am waiting with baited breath to see if Teddie goes down with it. so far he is ok. Jass cannot go out. I think Jasper may have developed this virus when he had his wash and cut just after he had his teeth done. Poor Jasper is very forlorn at the moment.
April amused me when I went into Stratford on Fathers day with Ryan we went into a sweet shop that sold bits and bobs and April spied a bracelet made out of pretty beads on a plastic wire and decided she wanted it. Ryan who was paying for three chocolate frogs said April I have just bought you chocolate and April looked at him and shrugged and said "do you intend to be my daddy one day Ryan said maybe if your mummy will marry me. April said ok then well today is fathers day so you can buy me that bracelet. I am afraid I had the giggles again and just walked off thinking that child. Ryan came walking up with a indignant April in toe and she said well do I get the bracelet and Ryan said no .Fathers day is for giving to a father not the child. I said April please dont be rude and she shrugged again and said Oh well I will just have to buy it myself just you wait until you marry my mum. Off she went and came back with the bracelet. Ryan who is American said oh my god what am I taking on. I said APRIL? he said do they have boot camp in England I said well there is boarding school. He just laughed. I think April got a bit of sympathy not having a daddy .
We had to laugh when Annie said how do you like your little brother April and she said yuk he smells most of the time I do like him when he is asleep though.
Beryl and Donnie went ice skating and Beryl had to sit and watch while Donnie floated round the ice with a women called Donna who called Beryl BERIL and they had a bit of a argument in the ladies room. BERIL was wearing her best Sunday hat with feathers and a few went flying it seems when Donna and Beril had a fisty cuff session. I did not ask all the details I did say what were you doing in a feather hat skating would not a pom pom type have been better but that did not go down well. I got my usual oh shut up you clever clogs. haha.
I will end now I hope everyone is ok I have very bad swollen ankles so going to put my feet up just another worry. HOPE YOU ARE OK EVERYONE.will catch up on the threads later.

Hi All Am still in the land of the living. Thankfully the swelling in my leg is down to a leaking varicose vein so i have to sit with my leg up on a chair but also have to exercise. The weather here today has been strange with a very wet and cold morning but now its warm and sunny. I had to take my blood sample to the hospital last night and the Dr rang me back at 6pm which I thought was very good. Once I knew that all was well I went out in the pouring rain to do a walking treasure hunt in town with hubby and we managed to finish second ( and very wet) I have not done too much today other than a little baking for the coffee morning on Saturday and have watched the tennis. Fiona So sorry to hear that you are feeling so ill and i hope your symptoms settle soon.I also hope that your hubby is ok. We were warned of the problems in Barcelona when we visited and hubby wore a body belt but I guess thats not practical in a suit. Jane How lovely to have your son home. I get so excited when Benjamin comes home and just wish it wasmore often. Ann Sounds as though you had a lovely evening and saw lots of ospreys. Was your guide Tim appleton by any chance. If so I do know him and he is a super guide. Frank You are so clever being able to put things onto e bay. we only tried once and failed miserably as no one wanted our Robins*ns goll**s as I guess they are not pc anymore Better go and prepare the potatoes for tea :-) :-)

In my newly purchased bungalow, the large dividing wall is now down and all rlastering fished.
The bathrooms seen to and the kitchen's getting done Tuesday.
Old cast iron gutters and wooden soffits are down and replaced with white pvc. Some pointing has been made good.
Tomorrow we get a new front and back door and the now full skip ought to be removed.
That leaves the carpeting and the decorating to do.Accomplished a lot in a week. Hope to be moving in in a few short weeks.

Have sent you another PM Jane!
David, things are moving along quickly aren't they and I think an awful lot has been accomplished in a very short time. It must be quite uplifting seeing the transformation and I bet Ellen is like a busy bee planning the colours etc. Is there a garden to be overhauled too???
Anne, glad it wasn't dvt with your leg and hope the swelling soon goes down. The Tim at Rutland is a different Tim, Tim Mackrill and he's the Osprey Project manager. A nice chap too.....he is studying for a Ph D in Ospreys at Leicester University.
That was a stroke of luck Frank.........bet there is a big space in your garage now............unless the conservatory has overflowed into there. :-)
April's got her answers ready hasn't she Sheila!! lol Only Beryl would wear her sunday best hat for skating. Hope Jasper is soon a bit better.
Fiona, no wonder you have felt poorly if it has flared up again. I suppose it may mean more antibiotics again and a bland diet for a while. At least tomorrow you can see what the doctor suggests. Good idea to rest up a bit, you won't want to be bending down doing things.

All that work in 2 weeks yes, but the planning, the set up of who did what had been arranged on and off for quite some time,so the skilled labour fell into place quickly.
If the necassary was in stock my kitchen would be getting done tomorrow.
It's a large corner site Annx.Lots of grass behind a low wall. The high fence has been taken down. A long drive comes in behind the bungalow from the adjacent street.
If we maintain this momentum we ought to be moving in by mid July.

Morning All,
Glad to see our Sheila has been haveing fun with grandaughter and family. What is Beryl like!! I would love to see a picture of her Sheila, please? and Donnie Wonnie of course ;-)
Dry today and I hsould be able to get the quilt and bottom sheet dry today. Did loads yesterday and the washing line was occupied all day. Thought of Jane with all the washing James brought her home.
Ann lovely pics once again. You are a clever girl as it is not easy to get a bird in flight. Good that you both enjoyed your day out.
Frank at least you have a bit of room in the garage now for the fouton so you can get your new chair in the conservatory. Any bids on it yet?
OH saw an old Wheelhorse mower on ebay a couple of weeks ago. He watched to the bids go up. Came and told me it went for £625 in the end. We have one that I used to mow the grass with and it also has a little plough for one farrow and a potato ridger attachment and extra wide wheels and tractor wheels. Think we may put it on ebay and see what kind of bids we get. We have'nt used it for years now and it is only taking up room in the big workshop up the top. At least OH could get more mowers in there if it was gone.
Just sitting here reading yesterdays posts and I spied something out the corner of my eye. Grey it was and moving slowly. It suddenly saw me and paniced and flew into the window. It was a bloo*y great fat wood pigeon who had walked in the back door and across the kitchen floor into the dinning area. It flew up atthe kitchen window and knocked all the plants off and OH came out and said calm sown and move slowly and with that it went out the back door. Needless to say I have now shut it :-S
