That's me for the day !!!

I had an early start. When the binmen had been I decided to wash all three bins. The main one (BLACK) when I opened the lid, I was almost sick. It stank to high heaven. I put the hose on and washed it inside and out. Toof the bad water to the main drain in the road. All strayed out with Jey# fluid. I then decided to do the drain from the sink and dishwasher. What a job, thick with greese. I had to scrap that away down under the water line. Then high pressure water, and the hot tap running, scrubbed that clean and put a loat of Cili# bang greese remover down the sink and drain.

Then it was onto the front lawn, trimmed all round the boarders. Then mowed. The beds looked they could do with a freshen up, so went round with the hand fork and turned over the earth.
Did the same on the back lawn, and trimmed round all the stepping stones, What a job. That's all done now, so I can relax for the day.

Going to sit in the garden with my book. But it does look like we will get rain before too long.

Fiona, Please take care of yourself, and rest as much as possible.

Mel, Those B. horseflys, don't arf bite, don't they. Have you been plagued with those horrible little THUNDER FLIES. They are all over thew place.

Hope the girls have a nice day out. Not to much talking or they will get "LOCKED JAW" :-D :-D :-D :-D

Evening everyone,

What another scorcher !!! so hot for Jake's sports day , we thought that they might cancel it ,but it went ahead , all the little ones had hats on and bottles of water ,after each event they all had to have a drink of water .
Jake's team came second so he was pleased , all the children had an ice lolly when it was over and they all came home early .
They went in the Spa this afternoon ,and son went in the big pool so Jake thought he would go in to ,so it couldn't have been that cold !! Katie went in the Spa ,she loved it she didn't want to get out !!

Pat , Jake is six , Chelsea's three and Katie's eighteen months , they keep me on my toes bless them .

Fiona, hope you will soon feel better , it's lovely when the little ones start to talk , you say Sofia has a tan , i noticed Katie is getting quite tanned , she grazed her forehead and were the scabs came off is now quite white , DIL made sure she had extra sun cream on the white bits, so it didn't burn .

Frank, you mind what your up to doing all that in this heat , you'll be knocking your self up !!
Hope Ros's pain has eased a little today .

We've got loads of those thunder flies , i've just hung some washing out , thought they might get dried to a crisp if i hung them out this morning ,and the i noticed all the flies on the washing .

Mel, i told you to get your chest to the doctors !! you make sure you do or we'll all nag you till you go LOL

Jane, thanks for the photo, glad you all enjoyed your day .

Looks like we might be in for a storm and some heavy rain tonight , two inches was mentioned , but it should be cooler thank goodness .
Just wondering if i should water !!!

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 27 Jun 2011 19:07

We have had thunder today and we just came in because it started to rain. I have been fighting with the ivy on the wall in the back garden. There is such a lot of it and it comes over from the firld behind.

Sausages tonight, I have a varity pack!! 2 old english, 2 pork and leek and two cheese and tomato. What to have with them is the question now?? :-( I could have new pots and I will do him rice I think.

Jane thanks for the up to date photo.

My car goes in on Wednesday for two new tyres on the back so it will then be well shod all round.

Thuesday I have a girl coming to do my feet!! Never had them done before but she is a friend and helps with with paperwork etc so I thought I may as well give her a try as she dos'nt charge me for the paperwork but is charging £20 for the feet!!!!! Mums lady only charged a tenner.

Frank

Frank Report 27 Jun 2011 19:29

MEL, It all depends on the S I Z E of your FEET. :-D :-D :-D :-D Yours must be bigger than Mum's were !!!!

Nice Photo Jane. Who's who. ???? I reconise you on the end, Who wouldn't. :-D :-D :-D :-D I see you had stopped talking at that moment. Glad you all had a nice day.

I got the lounger out this afternoon, under the big cherry tree. With an extra pillow for my head. Sitting there minding my own business when down came the rain, Only a slight shower, but I got the bedding in, and couldn't be bothered to go out again. I was so comfortable !!!!!
Mel, Please get yourself of to the doctors, if you are not well. At your AGE you have to be careful. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

The clouds are certainly building up, so if and when it comes, it will be so hot and humid I could hardly sleep last night, tonight will be even worse.

Glad Hannah has got over her experience of Glastonbury. Something to remember in years to come. I don't ever remember having concerts like that in the 50s.

Kim, I trust you are keeping well, as with Pat, Shirl, and all my other lovelies..

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 27 Jun 2011 20:14

So muggy and humid outside now ,just waiting for the thunder storm .

Frank, they probably did have concerts in the 50's , you just carn't remember it was so long ago LOL :-D

Evening All,

What a lovely day it was today with Jane and Maureen.....apart from the heat! Chester was just as I thought, trotting around wagging his tail only with a CAMEL in his mouth this time!! lol Jane's garden was looking good with lovely roses and lots of veg.......Jane's favourite BROAD BEANS were still looking very good!! lol We met a slim Maureen looking very well after her weekend with the family and we had a good natter and bite to eat. No locked jaws Frank......it doesn't happen if they are WELL USED!! lol :-D :-D It was so hot Jane got her fan out and let me have a few wafts too. Jane persuaded a man whose wife was interested in my car to take pics for us in the car park.......I don't think he realised that we wanted 3 taking and with different cameras.

Oh for a dip in Mandy's spa just now!! A shower before bed I think to cool off and wash the pollen away, the old eyes have started itching!!

While I was out, OH managed to extract his bike from the garage and cleaned it up and blew up the tyres. He said he rode it up the close and back and the front tyre was flat again. I think he lost interest then and came in to watch the tennis.

I don't know how you get so much done Frank, mind you don't overdo things. I hope Ross has had less pain today.

Good idea to get that pain checked out Mel, especially as it has come back. I like the idea of having my feet done. It must be quite relaxing.

It sounds as though you are doing the best you can foodwise Fiona and little and often as you say. It must be boring eating all bland foods, but better than aggravating things more. I hope your doc can start some treatment when you next see him.

Hello everyone,

Sorry that I sent those HUGE photos through. I did all that damage by myself as OH was out. Will have to get him to show me how to make them smaller. Hope your computers haven't blown up.

Mel have you been to your doctor? Hope you're feeling better. Sounds like you are having a heatwave over there!! Does it always get that hot in summer?

Jane, Maureen & Ann looks like you had a good day out. How far apart would you live? Jane I did read that one of your British pollies died at the festival - how terrible!!! When does Hannah arrive back; she will be looking forward to those creature comforts of home as well as having life-long memories :-) Just scrolled up and I can see where you typed that she looks like a zombie, so that answers everything!!

Pat sounds like everything is moving forward quickly now!! What a relief it must be for you. Hope the finished job is all you wish it to be and better.

Mandy I need you over here to keep my daughter in line - 16, but still throws tantrums like a 2 year old. Parent/teacher interviews tomorrow night - that will be interesting, wasted a whole year so far. I do worry about her future, but I can't live her life for her :-S

Fiona sounds like you are getting some respite from the pain. I hope so. Are you having really hot weather in Scotland too? I did say my brother had a really good diet. Spoke to him the other day and he tells me he was off to play golf and then have 6 heavy beers - not driving afterwards, the SIL would have that job. I didn't even know he drank beer!!

Frank how are you coping with the heat? Is your neighbour recovering now? As cheeky as ever I see :-D :-D

Had a real fright last night. I put the ragdoll in the garage about 11 pm as she plays up about then every night. I could smell smoke which I thought was coming from the next door chimney, but it was so thick and acrid. I moved to the fence and this huge white vision rose up in front of me with a whoosh. I screamed and ran inside and grabbed Joel to come out and look, but big brave boy wasn't keen. I went back to the fence and stared into bush and there it was again and did the same thing. Well, I screamed even louder woke OH who thought I was mad and went back to bed. Way too large for a night bird, never experienced anything like it before. Any ideas???

Well the weather here today is awful with dark clouds, rain and so cold again. I'm sitting here in my thick dressing gown, two jumpers and a scarf and my trackpants and thermals and 3 pairs of socks. What a sight ;-) ;-)

Off to catch up on the news and have a cuppa now. Have a good day, not too hot. Cheers, Kim 4.33pm EST

Morning Lazy bones,

Where's all that rain, they promised.???? Very overcast, and a chill in the breeze. woke about 4.30 couldn't get back to sleep, got up 6.30 had three cups of tea, now thinking BACON SARNIE.

Who's doing what today. I had an enquirie about my futon last night. So I need to get it dissmantled before the Auction finishes. So we can get it cleaned, and clean the conservatory, before bringing in the bed chair. That will be fun, putting it together, as there are no instructions, but like most men I don't read them unless I get stuck !!!!

Hope everybody had a better nights sleep, in the cooler conditions. Ros was still on top of the bed when I got up.

Morning Frank and All,

Sunny to start today but I don't know how the rest of the day will be. We had a bit of thunder yesterday which knocked the electric out just the once. Only a couple of claps then a bit later slight rain.

Tomorrow the car goes in for its new boots and I shall be glad that I don't have to have the tyres pumped up every time I go out in it. I only use it a couple of times in the week. Shopping and then on a Saturday to go and get the paper from the local shop.

Frank hope the fouton goes, how high are the bids at the moment? We put OH's fouton in the caravan! Bought a proper mattress for it. That was my idea as the bed in there was so small OH thought he would have to make a bigger one. Silly really as there is not much room to get round it in there but more comfortable for those who stay I suppose. It has'nt been used this year at all.

Feeling a little less tired at the moment ,
Jane thanks for the photo of your day out, you all look summery and Maureen you look cool lol :-D very smart in your outfit,

Daughter no 2 is not working tomorrow she has changed shifts with another girl so she will come down early and help play with Sofia and do the running around, which is a great relief to me,

Frank, Bacon sarnie sounds good for breakfast, just had my rice krispies :-\

Kim, Scotland is NOT having much of a summer, we live in hope!!!!!
we see the sun occasionally but it doesn't stay out for long, the highest temp we are getting is 17 , there is lots of clouds and the odd patches of blue sky, it's not cold sometimes there's quite a close and muggy feeling

As for your apparition 'spooky'.But where was was the burning smell coming from I wonder.
Fiona ,that is good of your dau to change her shifts to help you out with Sofia, and good that you don't feel so weary this morning.

I have just picked a load of veg for this evening.I thought I better get it done now just in case we have some downpours.Nothing yet and nothing in the night!!.

A Heron flew and perched on the top of a very thin branch in a tree.It looked ridiculous.Just I got to the door to get a photo Chester shot out past me and barked. The Heron took off over the hedge into next door.
I won't say what I called the dog :-( :-( :-(

Jane, Joel now tells me he has seen the same thing from his window years ago and scared the s##t out of him. Have we got an Aboriginal elder floating around in our bush???? Last one of the local tribe died in Tuggerah Lake all wiped out by smallpox and measles. Yes, Steptoe next door uses all sorts of crappy wood for his fire and stacks whiteant-infested rubbish up against our fence :-( :-( :-( :-( I'd say that's where the smoke was coming from as he's the only one with a combustion stove in this area. I didn't get far enough around the corner to have a good look!!

Have only seen a Heron at the zoo and you have them flying in your yard; how wonderful. Is Hannah recovering and what is James up to??

Fiona are you far from Glasgow? My McMaths are from a small village near there. I will have to check the tree for a name. We had a very wet summer with a couple of 42 degrees thrown in for good measure. I can't take hot days any more, it just flattens me!

Hello to everyone else this morning (must be close to midday for you). Off to watch the lovely Dr. Chris Brown and Bondi Vet. Bye for now 8.59 pm EST

Hi Everyone,

Yes, I'm a lazybones this morning Frank.........slept like a log and had a lie in too!! It's good you've got interest in your futon.......will they collect it?

That sounds scary Kim. Do the aborigines daub white on their bodies? I wouldn't have liked a scare like that one bit.......and Joel having seen it too.

I bet you will be really glad to get your new tyres Mel.......no fun having to keep blowing them up, especially in the heat. I thought one of mine looked a bit flat just as I was setting off for Jane's, but they often do on the drive and both front ones looked the same so I thought it must be ok.

Off out to do some shopping next......no rain here yet.

Fiona

Fiona Report 28 Jun 2011 14:09

Kim, I live about 30 mins from Glasgow by car or train. find out the name of the villiage your McMaths lived in and I'll be able to tell you if I know it.

Managed to do a bit of washing and put it on the line, and also had a shower and washed my hair, mind you had to sit down for a while after as it tired me out, still needing to get my energy back.

Hi Everyone Yes I am still in the land of the living. Sorry that I have not posted in the last couple of days but have spent the time in the garden.Gosh but there seems to be lots of news.
Fiona I do hope you are improving and continue to take things easy.
Mel Sorry to hear that you are suffering and hope things improve.
Jane Thanks for the photographs but you seem to have lost your heads or is this just my computer? Sounds as though you all had a good day catching up.
Frank You do seem to be having adventures with your sofa bed and hope you have managed to put it together.
Kim I would be terrified if I encountered something large and white at night. Do you have any neighbours nearby or are you quite isolated?
We have not had rain here yet today but its obviously very wet in London ( I have been watching the tennis) Neighbours went off this morning on the train to London for a couple of days and I think they may get wet.
I am having trouble getting a marriage cert from the Gro anyone else had problems please?
Back to the tennis now :-) :-)

Frank Report 28 Jun 2011 16:08

I am KNACKERED. I decided to take the futon to pieces, which was covered in cushions of all different sizes. (SHE LOVES CUSHIONS) I suppose taking it apart was the easy part. I then had to get it in the garage, with the mattress, and we have a memory foam topper with it. I then bought in the CHAIR/BED. no instructions, so hit a miss with the parts. Finally got it together, then had to put the mattress and cover on. What a Bloo## job, while the conservatory was empty I hoovered and washed the floor. I started at mid-day, and finished at 3.30

Still no sign of rain here either Jane, very humid and a damp feel in the air. Wish it would make up it's mind.

Mel, I haven't heard that expression for a long time "NEW BOOTS" It was a thing we always said in the motor trade. I suppose you had that saying from your Taxi days.

Jane, Is Hannah out of the shower yet :-D :-D :-D. How was the car ???? Not to bad I hope. I bet the washing machine has been working overtime. and think of all the ironing, or does she do her own ???

Glad everybody is well, and you haven't got lock jaw (Maureen and Anne) you haven't been using it today. :-D :-D :-D

I got home in good time yesterday, didn't get lost once, miracles do happen .....lol Was expecting to have to start mixing cement when I got home for the base of the shed, so what a surprise to find it was already done, son had been over at the weekend while I was away, and didn't tell me, but we did get the shed together, well he did I was just passing him screws and bolts and things. Left to me it would still be in pieces out there now.

Really enjoyed our meeting yesterday, thanks for the photos will send you my one, although it will be the same.

Lovely to see the photos of your reunion Kim, how long have you known your friends. I got in touch with a couple of 'girls' I was at school with a few years ago, met up a few times but we have drifted away again.

We have had the mother of all storms this afternoon, lots of lightening and crashing thunder and the heavens opened, don't suppose there will be much tennis today. It's a lot cooler now which I was glad about having just finished about 6 hours of ironing.
