Hello everyone, I'm a bit late today. Feel so awful, was ok until noon and then so dizzy, heart thumping and nausea. Weekend must be catching up with me.

Merlin, that's who I have been thinking of and trying to work out who owns him - it's Liz. For some reason he has been on my mind :-S

Sheila it's the comedy hour with you. I laugh so much when you post. How is Joel the horse doing?? Is Ryan a good mate of Matt and Jessica's?? Wonderful that this nice man is looking out for her and the children :-)

Frank, Keith won't let me near anything sharp. I'm always cutting myself and falling over things, clumsy as!!!! Stay safe today. I always have to peg the clothes - give them a shake just like Pat and do it in my own way. Something I got from my mother. I repeg everything if Keith hangs out the washing. OH calls me Peg the Perfectionist :-P

Might just take a rest now. Will be back later to say goodnight.

Cheers, Kim 8.36 pm EST

Morning All
Had a couple of friends from church visit me yesterday just to see how I was, nice to spend a couple of hours chatting,

Then family then came down, Daughter no 1 and Sofia, daughter no 2 and boyfriend played with Sofia outside kicking her ball around and pushing her buggy up and down the garden, but when daughter no 2 said lets go for a walk, Sofia would only go to the end of the street because I wasn't there, Gan ,Gan she shouting , so they just came back and Sofia and I walked around the garden and she had her little watering can and watered the flowers and her shoes to, good job they where sandshoes, I just stuck them in the tumble dryer to dry before she went home.
SIL e-mailed me the photo's of their holiday in Italy. will sort them out and pass them on.

Daughter no 2 has to go down to Billingsworth ,West Sussex for an interview for a Job next week, a position for a mechandise buyer, she's very excited as it is not for an assistant's job but a higher position.
That has lifted her spirits, it's hard work trying to get a full time job these days.

Frank, apparently honey was used during the War for treating Aircrew who had been severely burnt. When I was young (?!) we had something called Lion Ointment, which was a cure all for cuts and burns, scalds etc, it contained Beezewax which was why it was so effective. Now you can't get it anymore so neat honey has to do, takes away the pain of scalds and burns, prevents blistering and heals quickly, but 'tis sticky!!!! Yes Kim, Merlin is our Exmoor Pony, OH rides him (not me anymore, can't risk falling!) but he also drives, which is great fun, and gets you out and about! sorry you're not feeling too good, hope things are better now! I have two cousins living in Aus, one in Brisbane and the other in Melbourne; they come over occasionally to visit family, but don't think much of our weather, crowded roads or the lack of space!! also the cost of living here, which is getting a bit hideous! so I don't think they or their young people will be heading back to the 'Mother Country' permanently that's for sure! Things much better on the Laura front! she seems much happier, business has perked up, and she and group of volunteers have won 60k's worth of lottery funding to fit out a run down warehouse, as a gymnasium (surprise surprise!) to give children, rich or poor, handicapped or whole an opportunity to experience athletics, dancing, gym and anything else they can think of in that line. I do take my hat off to them all, but I can't think how she finds the time! or where she gets her enegy from, not me that's for certain!! anyhow she seems much chirpier which is really good. House still in the balance, prospective buyer asking all sorts of questions, mostly about neighbour! if this fails we shall definitely 'stay put', just too much hassle!!

Afternoon All
We were all late getting up this morning.(Not because of hangovers FRANK) :-P .I think because Chris didn't need to set the alarm we just slept on.
I have just picked another load of Broad Beans.I'm trying to get them while they are still fairly small.

I'm not sure you are supposed to pop blisters Frank in case they become infected.

Fiona that is good news that your daughter has got an interview.I hope it goes well and she is offered the job.

Good luck Pat.I'm glad I'm not at your house lol

Kim, I hope you have a good night sleep tonight and maybe you will feel much better in the morning.

Mel ,has the lady come yet? It's awful when you expect someone at a certain time and they don't turn up.I hope you are not doing anything too strenuous and are doing as you are told.I can't believe that you are lol

Thanks Liz.He just needs to find a job now!
I need to get that ironing board up now :-(

OH NO. It's calamity Frank again.
Just looked at the futon sale. It made £33.00 and the customer wants to collect this afternoon, so out to the garage I go, to make sure it can be got out easily, unlocked the up and over door and slid it up. Umknown to me, I had lent a metal chair against the inside of the door, As I lifted the door, the further the door went up the further the chair came down It took the skin off down my left shin. It only happened half hour ago, and already the shin is swollen. I have put Savlo# on it, with a massive piece of plaster strip about 10 inches long. (Yes Jane I buy plaster that way) It's now throbbibg like mad. Once the people have been I am not doing ANYTHING fot the rest of the day :-D :-D :-D :-D I am going to buy shares in ELASTAPLA##. Then I will get it at discount prices.

Not watching the first ladies semi final today as eyes a bit squiffy as my neck is aching a lot so thought I would catch up on the news. It tried to rain here just as hubby hung out the washing but only lasted a few minutes thankfully. Hubby now gone out to do a butterfly survey and I have just finished making flapjack to take to the family this weekend.
Frank You sound like a walking disaster area at the moment so please be careful.
Jane Thanks for the heron photo. You do take some super bird shots.
Mel Your back sounds very very painful and it's sad that you cannot get any relief. have you tried putting something hot ( or cold) onto the painful area as this might help a little.
Kim I hope you too feel better soon.
Pat I absolutely hate having things disrupted at home and I expect you cannot wait to have everything back to normal again.
Fiona Glad to hear that you had friends visit you and I hope they were able to cheer you up.
The wind has suddenly got up so I hope it is not about to rain on the washing. The lady from our local travel agent has just rung to tell hubby that if he collects his currency for Italy today rather than tomorrow he can save over £8. I thought that was very kind of her to let him know and have passed on the message.
Think I might read for awhile now :-D

Afternoon All,

Flippin heck Frank, as soon as my back's turned you've done it again! That scrape on your shin sounds really sore. Careful where you go with that honey on........don't want you attracting a swarm of BEES!!!!!

Looks like a nice day for Mandy and the family at the show today. I wonder if she will see Princess Anne.

I hope anyone with a pain or not feeling well soon feels better, there seem to be a few of us at the moment. Sorry to hear about Ralph being poorly David. He seemed to be doing well too. Best wishes that he improves soon. How's the bungalow coming on?

I went across to Grantham today to take a top back. I put the roof down and by the time I was halfway there it was freezing and I was wishing I had a scarf on!!I went into the restaurant first for a cuppa. My credit card wouldn't work in their machine twice so I tried a different one and that wouldn't work either so they fetched the manager and eventually decided it was their machine!! I think my tea was cold by the time they decided this so I paid cash in the end!! I must be losing my marbles...... I got some nice soft, spongy soled sandals for plodding about in and paid for them at the till.......then walked off without them!! As soon as I got to the car boot I realised I was empty handed. I walked back into the store to hear my name being called on the tannoy. They knew my name because I'd forgot my discount card !!! lol I'm stopping in now!!!

Apparently we had a downpour here while I was out and OH reports the new waterbutt is working fine. He said he had picked some tomatoes out of the greenhouse......and eaten them. I told him foxes might be cocking their legs up in there at night!! His face was a picture!! lol

How annoying that your neighbours are still causing your problems.....now in selling your house Liz. I hope your prospective buyer still goes ahead. It is good that things are better with your daughter. Sounds like she has plenty to occupy her at the moment.......it might be what she needs.

Anne I saw a very small vibrant red butterfly flitting around on the lawn earlier.I don't know what it was but it was very pretty.
I think there is a high pollen count today ,both Chester and me are feeling a bit wishy washy .

Frank,I am lost for words lol.I bet you look a Honey with all your cuts, burns, scrapes. What's next I wonder :-D :-D

Well ,you know I told you that Hannah is going to London to live for a couple of months.I thought she was coming home after that, but the plan is to find somewhere else to live while she is there !!! She wondered why I kept saying things like "when you come home" lol.I won't hold my breath though as it is pretty difficult to find somewhere decent at an affordable price
in London.

It's not my day.!!!!!!

We had a call from Jan, Conrads partner. He has been complaining about pains in his stomach, She made him go to the doctors. He took water sample and found BLOOD in it. Sent him to Peterborough Hospital. He had to take things with him as it looks like they will keep him in.

Ros has had a phone call from Woodlands Hospital, to ask her to be there for 7.30am as she will be the first one in. Carolyne her friend will pick her up at 6.45. so I can turn over and have a lie in.

Tomorrow has got to be a better day :-D :-D :-D

OMG Jane, the poor woman!! What a terrible shock for her!! How dreadful......things look bad when they start taking computers out and cameras. I hope her husband isn't one of THOSE!!! He could well be doing a stretch if he is. As if the poor woman hasn't enough to cope with being treated for breast cancer and what on earth does she say to her young son about what is happening.

Annx

Annx Report 30 Jun 2011 19:25

Poor Conrad Frank....... I bet they were both a bit shocked at him having to go to hospital. I hope they can soon tell what it is. Nothing worse than the waiting. Ros certainly has an early start tomorrow. Mind you I bet it can't come soon enough for her. Fingers crossed this next injection works. I think you have the right idea about going back to sleep after she goes ......surely you can't do any harm in BED!!!! lol

Just looked that moth up Jane.......it is pretty!

How exciting David! I bet the new gutters, soffits and downpipes make the outside look smart. Cupboards tomorrow and fire next week, it's all changing before your eyes. Decorating and carpets rightly come after the main things are done as you say, but I bet Ellen has 'ideas' I bet you looking forward to being there now.

Frank Report 30 Jun 2011 21:10

Oh Jane, You have a job to believe that Chris, would have a colleague with a husband, who had been arrested and had all his computers and things removed from their home. All I can say is, If he is one of THOSE, he should be put away and have the key thrown away. If I had my way .................... You know what I would have done.

David, Everything seems to be going along, with the bungalow. When you see the new plastic gutters etc. you wonder how we managed before. I had mine done about 10 years ago, but quite a few neighbours have still got the original ones, that were put up when the houses were built in the 60s

Hows Aunty Mel, ??? hope she is going on allright after seeing the DR.

Kim, I said yesterday, TAKE THINGS EASY. You must know you can't do everything you would like to. NAUGHTY GIRL :-D :-D :-D

Annx, I can't stay in bed all day, I need to get into trouble. It's the way I live ;-) ;-) ;-) I will try to be more careful, I PROMISE. But things just seem to happen to me.!!!!

Pat, Have you sorted out your estimates. some of them sound excessive. But like all the "Tradesmen" thay take the Pi##. and charge what they want. It would be good if your OH could do the job, then you could give the plumber two fingers !!!!!

David

David Report 30 Jun 2011 21:34

The origional 1926 guttering was showining its age and the hard winter we've just had had part of it dragged off (partially).
The square section guttering and down pipes are smart and durable, will last forever.
The heating and bathroom are good and Ive just a new cooker and sink fitted to make the kitchen tip top.
The double glazing is only five years old, excellent condition.
Fitted blinds at every window ,but Ellen still wants curtains hanging as well.
The carpeting and internal decoration which had been at the top of our list is now half way down.May get done by Christmas or next Christmas lol

We did far too much at once when we moved into here and it always was work in progress.
Never enjoyed it as much as I'd hoped.

Hopefully won't repeat the mistake at the bungalow.
Looks much larger with the high fence down.
Has received favourable comment from the locals which is what I like to hear.

Hi All

I had to get up earlier for me today..Bathroom suit being delvered between 7.30 and 10.30.. This will have to stand in the kitchen diner for a few days.

Somepaper work still has to be sorted out for the bathroom.
....Frank We got another email yesterday with a revised costings which we are happier about. but we will still paint the ceiling ourselves...By them doing the work fitting bath etc we have a 2 year guarrentee built in marvilous that they could drop the price to a level we would accept..shows how much profit they were making lol.. (Sp )

Then we had a phone call to say they will be starting the kitchen on Monday...Hopefully the week after the units will be put in..

So this weekend we have to clear everything out again from the kitchen that has crept in... We will have to then put the new bath outside Frank and cover it up

Jane..It not very nice when children move away but thats the way it is now a days.
I lived about 30 mins walk away from my parents so they saw the grandchildren every week...I wish my grandchildren lived nearer and not 2 hours drive away.. I also have seen a red butterfly like yours..but we seem to get alot of tiny blue ones
