You have got to be joking JANE. How could you keep your mouth closed :-D :-D :-D :-D How much wine did you have, before you feel asleep in the sun. You do leave yourself open to my coments, DON'T YOU <3 <3 <3

Ros has been resting on the SOFA all afternoon, I am the gofa. Cooked chicken brest on the bone, with rice and veg, I did extra onions, mushrooms and peas. They never put enough in these packets. Stewed some plumbs, and made a pint of custard. She can have some later.

I will cadge a lift to Morriso## tomorrow morning with my neighbour, to get the odds and sods, that Ros would get, if she went with her friend.

I have kept out of trouble today, so I might walk up and have a couple of pints.

David, A what age are you too old for Jury service ???? I am not surgesting Elen is to old :-D :-D :-D That is something I have never been called on to do. If I had they would have been GUILTY !!!! Victor Meldrew coming out in me.

Conrad has Dieverticulitis (How do you spell it) JANE/CHRIS.

Annx, I finished my book this morning, and started a new one. will get into it proper when I go to bed. After all my jobs are done !!!! Mens work never done !!!!

Jane

Jane Report 1 Jul 2011 19:48

Frank are you suggesting I had too much wine lol.Just 2 glasses and no I didn't fall asleep. We were just nattering about all sorts. It was nice though as there were 2 Red Kites and a Buzzard flying around the whole time and lots of Swifts /Swallows.The 2 cats Bella (mum) and Podge her son were both sat peering into the hedge on mouse watch lol

Diverticulitis is not nice .Hopefully this bad spell will settle and Conrad won't have another flare up for some time.

Mandy I can imagine you all felt sick when you couldn't find Jake.It is a terrible feeling.Little monkey!,he was just off enjoying himself.I'm glad you all had a good time (other than that little glitch) lol

Frank you be careful now if you are off for a few pints. We don't want to look on here tomorrow and see you have had another disaster !! and behave yourself at Morr****s tomorrow.Make sure you buy some extra goodies.

Please pass on my wishes to Ros .

I'd thought the upper age limit for jury service was 60,it is in fact 70

Iv'e been on jury service twice. The first one was very boring.
The second,a case of greivious bodily harm brought by the Police was far more interesting.

Jane

Jane Report 1 Jul 2011 20:22

Chris was called for Jury service earlier this year, but has deferred it until October. He is not looking forward to it at all.I think he has to be available for 2 weeks.I have never been called :-( I would love it.Maureen had to go last year or the year before. Then I think she was called again!
I went to court many times when I was working for Victim Support.I went to support my 'victims'.Some of the cases were horrendous.I was shocked a few times by some members of the Jury. One even nodded off,and others just looked like they were bored and would rather be elsewhere.
I loved my 10 years with V S.One year I was asked to go to a talk in London by Terry Waite. He gave a brilliant talk on his experience when being held hostage for all that time.He went through Hell .
Must dish up dinner now.

Hi Everyone
Just spent a lovely afternoon outside with Sofia, played with her dolly and buggy , watered the plants and tried to sweep up the paths, everyone had a sweeping brush, but didn't get much sweeping done lol.

Glad Jane, Mandy, Mel ,got the photo's will keep trying with the other ones.

Done the weekly shopping tonight was the first time I have been out in the car for 2 weeks, It was good to get out.

Got my results from the doctor on last weeks tests,
sample of back passage was all clear and blood test for white blood cells was the same as before, so it is being sent to a hemotoligist to find out why the white blood cells are low.
No news on the Endoscope appointment yet,

Going to watch the TV for a while before bed,
night night

Why do some people get to do jury service several times and I have never been called. I would love it too. It would have been interesting listening to Terry Waite's talk, more real than reading about things. Jane it was nice today for sitting out.....a bit cooler than the beginning of the week! Let's hope Hannah doesn't get the 'bug' too!! I bet she will find it strange 'doing' for herself after being back home for so long.

That was sensible getting the doc to check you out after fainting Sheila. Now you know you are fine.

Good job you spotted Jake before he realised he was lost Mandy. I bet your hearts were in your mouths for a while.

We both sat and watched the mens tennis semi final this afternoon. It was a really good game between Murray and Nadal. I like watching Nadal!! It will be good to see him in the final.

MEgirl Report 2 Jul 2011 06:11

Really wanted Tsonga in the final, but such a good game. He came close so many times. I do like Nadal, but Andy Murray is also a favourite of mine.

I'm just passing in between jobs, cleaning out my chest of drawers at the moment and trying to keep out of trouble. Beautiful day here.

Have a great day when you all finally wake. Cheers, Kim 2.41 pm EST

Jane, so glad it arrived before time. :-)

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 2 Jul 2011 09:34

Morning on this beautifull day.

I was called for jury service but declined as I was looking after mum and did'nt want to travel to Exeter. That was some years ago now. I was also called when young and had my son as a baby. I did'nt go then either.

Did some slow sweeping up in the garden yesterday and did'nt go shopping as I thought I would'nt be able to push the trolley around. I shall just get some bits at the shop and try and leave it till Monday to see how the old back is then. At the moment it is not too bad and does feel a bit better. At least I am not crying out at every move now just sometimes.

Hope Ros is feeling a little better this morning.

Mandy what a shock loosing Jake like that?? You must have had an awful feeling in your stomach, naughty boy!!

No Maureen yesterday, I wonder what she is up to? something to do with the garden I expect.

Don't watch the tennis!! Have never played it proply only used to hit the ball back and forth with a friend when young. Mum used to play when I was young with dad and friends. I loved going to the park with them and playing with the other children but could never understand why I was not allowed in the courts and had to stay in sight!

I will be doing that mysef soon Jane.

My son moves to Paris 1st Sept so my grandson can be there for the start of the school term,,.. He may have to come back to the Uk afterwards for a few weeks to tie up things this end.
This was ahard desicion for him as he has 2 children by his first marriage that he has to stay most weekends..\my grandaughter is 13 and a half she does her own thing now but my other grandson is nearly 10.. I think some of the traveling expences has been built into the contract. so they can visit. either way..

My bath etc arrived at 9.30 am yesterday..Did some gardening out the front to occupy my self....got carried away all day then and did some more after lunch when I finished work....Checked the toilet over and just managed to catc h the van moving off...The glazing on it in parts wasent very good...So when My husband came in from work back went the toilet to be exchanged..does any thing run smooth lol

Off to finish the garden..Tomorrow we have to clear out the kitchen diner again including the bathroom suit that is standing in there now..

Jane Report 2 Jul 2011 09:51

I don't believe it.They have been gone half an hour and are having to come back as she has forgotten to take the key to her new place!!!!!!!!!! Poor James will not be very happy.I give up sometimes lol.
I'm just shelling a load of peas now and trying to think what to have for dinner this evening.

Frank

Frank Report 2 Jul 2011 10:40

Haven't got that problem Jane, Indian/Chinese tonight. Tomorrow I will do the veg.and get dinner for about 4/5pm.
What are you going to do twith your BRAIN DEAD daughter. :-D :-D Better to find out after half an hour, than when they got there.!!!!

Didn't go to Morris###. Got the neighbour to bring sugar and bread. I can manage with what I have in the fridge/freezer.

Ros had a reasonable night, sdhe was in bed before me, so I couldn't lie and read my book !!! I have got her breakfast, washed up, made the bed. will get the hoover out later to tidy round. I might try to paint the porch today, if I have the emulsion in the garage.

Trust everybody is well, and will enjoy your gardens and sunshine today.

MEgirl Report 2 Jul 2011 11:01

Pat what colour have you chosen for your bathroom suite, paint and tiles? No generally hiccups along the way with bathrooms and kitchens. We had a deaf plumber and a deaf/dumb tiler when we had our bathroom renovated - lovely guys, but very hard to communicate with - writing everything down and not knowing any sign language. They did a really good job :-)

Mel not a tennis fan either, but I usually watch the semi's and finals for the men. I was very proud of our Australian lad; he did well to get that far.

Jane hope your two get down their safely. Poor Hannah she must have got a right roasting from her brother!!!! How long does it take to drive to London from your area?

Keith got some lovely fruit and veg from the market today. We had gluten free bangers and rissoles with yellow carrots, parsnip, cooked onion, silverbeet, mushrooms, sweet potato and brussel sprouts (yuk not for me). Cooked to perfection by the chef - stewed rhubarb and apple with thickened cream for sweets.

Never been called for jury duty and won't be now. Goodness, how would I remember all their evidence???? :-S Dad was always going to the Supreme Court to listen to cases - he found it fascinating.

Mandy, I know that gut-wrenching feeling when you discover the little ones are missing. Glad that you enjoyed the show and Jake was safe and sound.

Frank how is Ros today? I trust you got back in one piece after your pints.

Fiona good luck with your tests, hope they can sort out your white cell count very soon and find some answers for you.

Time for sweets. Take care everyone xx 8.00 pm EST

Morning All,

A beautiful one here too! Mel your back does sound painful, I hate it when it suddenly catches and stops you in your tracks. Do go easy on it and try and give it some rest won't you.

Pat, a good job you checked the toilet and spotted the problem before it was fitted. How annoying though......another day spent waiting for a delivery I expect. How exciting your son moving to Paris. People are much more adventurous these days. I expect you will be 'visiting' which will be great for you.

Oh Jane.......you have to laugh don't you!!! lol I thought I was an old fogey forgetting things too...........good job she realised when she did though or James could have been driving there twice!!! Glad he is obviously feeling a lot better.

I'm not much of a tennis fan either, just watch a few games towards the finals. I like to watch Nadal......such a good looking young man who plays brilliantly and seems to keep his cool without temper tantrums. I must say Murray played very well yesterday though.

Kim I have never heard of silver beet.......is it a kind of turnip thing or like beetroot? lol Your OH gets some nice things from the market doesn't he. I love stewed fruits including apple and rhubarb.

Glad Ros had a reasonable night............take care on any steps Frank.......you know your TRACK RECORD isn't good!!

We have been to the shops and got a few bits, so now I'm donning my 'glamorous' back garden old clothes, hat and leather gloves to start shifting and setting in some rocks with OH. We haven't done much for a few weeks so it will be nice to see a bit of progress. Then after a rest we are going to go for a walk along the canal where someone told us they saw a Kingfisher. I have never ever seen a real one yet.

Morning all
we seem to be having a spell of warm weather at last. though the sun has just gone in but there is pleanty of blue sky around so I have been taking advantage of it and enjoying sitting in the garden with my book,
OH out on his bike will be back about 12.

Daughter no 2 is not sure if she will go to the interview in West Sussex after all, it is going to cost her £200 to travel and stay over night in a bed and breakfast somewhere, she is concerned now that maybe they don't realise she is only 24 and has only worked as a sales assistant , even though she did tell them this in her application she now feels that the job would be too higher a position without having had more experience Also she only works part time at the moment and £200 is a lot of money to spend out of her wages, I think she now realises what a long distance West Sussex is from here in Scotland,
I said she is best to talk to her dad before making the final decision.
Also means her boyfriend who works from home most of the time will have a long travel distance to meet up with the people who he now works with in Dundee

Sofia and her mum and dad have gone to Edinburgh Zoo today, I haven't been there since we took the girls years ago when they were very little, Sofia will love seeing all the animals

Jane

Jane Report 2 Jul 2011 12:30

Mel ,I'm glad your back is not so painful,Don't go over doing things now will you.

Frank that was lucky you only needed a couple of bits and that your neighbour got them for you.

KIm I think Hannah said it would take about an 1 hour and a half to get to Stoke Newington. It think it is Hackney.James has the GPS so hopefully won't get lost.

Pat it will be hard for you when your son goes to Paris. But when you think of it you can get there so quickly now with cheap flights and the Euro star.
As to your loo not being up to scratch. It really annoys me these days as it seems whatever you buy or order something is always wrong :-(,and then is the hassle of sending things back and waiting for replacements.

Now I am doing a quick dash to Tes** and get back to watch the Mens Finals.I just hope it doesn't go on for hours and hours as it means staying indoors for too long lol
I hope we are all enjoying this lovely weather.I think most of the country has it.BBL

Jane

Jane Report 2 Jul 2011 13:55

I can't believe it.James is just back !!.That was good going. He said he just dropped her and her stuff off on the door step lol.
Tes** wasn't too busy thank goodness.Bought a big bottle of Pimms for just over £9.Should be £20.Bargain..James likes to make a jug up to take to his mates.
I can't stay outside as there are so many Thunder flies and Greenfly about and they are driving me nuts.

Ann I did have a giggle at your post .re your card and then forgetting your sandals.I need a pair with a springy bottom.Where did you get yours?
I have had a pair of Clar** for the last couple of years(2 pairs). They have been so comfortable and I wanted a new pair this summer but they have stopped doing them :-( :-(
It is very overcast now and I feel really itchy.I think `I need a Zirtec. There even thunder flies on my lap top.Little horrors :-P :-P :-P

I went to lay on my lounger in the garden, to read my Ebook. Covered myself in sun cream. Just got comfortable, and the sun went in :-) :-) :-) The greenfly and thunder fly's are stuck all over me. Will now need a shower to clean myself up. Two already today. Cleanest boy in town.

I had a bit of luck on Ebay. As I said I sold the futon. I have also sold to old fishing reels, and a "PLAYERS PLEASE" metal sign. Made well in excess of £150.00 theres £17.00 fees to come off of that. I have been rumiging around the shed, and found 3 very old dirty clocks. They can go on next week. Im beginning to like this game !!!! At this rate we perhaps will get a week away.

Jane I was just going to say, It will be a long trip to Tesc# if you want to get back for the Mens final !!!!!
