Frank ,I sold some clocks to some chap and was surprised how much I got for them.Pretty good. Then I had a glass dome that went over one of these old fashioned clocks.I got £100 just for the dome! I bet I have loads of stuff I could sell on eba*.But am a bit scared to do it.I will have to get James to help .He has been left in charge of getting rid of all of Hannah's things.(He will get a cut of what things sell for)
These 2 girls playing the finals are so tall. One 6ft and the other 6ft 3" ! (just like me.......not )lol
Chris is busy trimming things that next door should be doing. It is all encroaching on our side.I am going to have to have a polite word I think to get them to do their side.I know Chris won't say anything so it will be down to me if we want it done :-( :-(

Fiona I hope they can soon pinpoint what the problem is for you so you can have medication again for the reflux. It is good you have some sunshine at last and can enjoy being outside with Sofia and her dolly and buggy. I bet she enjoyed her sweeping and wanted to do the watering!!

James made good time didn't he Jane. OH always says Saturdays are good for travelling except in cities and towns. My sandals are Hush Pup*ies. They are not 'smart'.... more 'walking' and 'trudging' sandals but soooo comfy with the deepest spongy soles...... I love them. They were in black and brown and mine were in a sale. You can see them on here! lol

OH has just shown me an advert in the Telegrap* Magazine. It mentioned Luton Hoo and a few other hotels. About Luton Hoo it said it was not cheap, but good if you liked 'lording' it occasionally!! lol. I thought 'Yes, we do and did!!'.

Well I've never seen so many ants' nests as this year. Each rock we moved today had it's own ant city. There were hundreds of eggs and OH got bitten. Still we managed to clear and even out the bumps and pick out loads of bits of glass we always find before we were eaten alive. Then I stuck some tent pegs in to start marking it out. We'd had enough by then so showered and popped down the road for a jacket potato. Then we went a short walk along the canal nearby. We saw a little squirrel peeping behind a branch. I think he thought we couldn't see him! The gipsy ponies were all finding what shade they could near the hedges. At least they have lovely long manes and tails to swish the flies with. There were quite a few foals.....all hiding behind mum! Then we called and got ice creams and came home and flopped.

Jane Report 2 Jul 2011 19:04

And would quite happily do it again Ann lolol.I have no problem with 'Lording it'
As long as I m waited on ,that's fine by me :-D :-D

Mel...We are having a white bathroom suit...the one we have now is peach coloured,,so we thought if we ever got a chance to change it we would,,,seeing they have to take all our tiles of the walls to be repaired

The new tiles are bigger than the ones we have now..A brownie beigie colour hard to describe with a bit of mottle in them,,,dont know what colour for the walls yet,

The tiles for the kitchen are greyish with a mottle effect to go with the slate coloured wooden work top...dont know what colour to do the walls either..

Ann x and Jane yes it will be nice to visit.we have the airport and train station on our doorstep,...well quite near..
Jane you will miss your daughter,,but then we seem to be closer to them..
.
Mandy I could imaging how you felt when your grandson went missing...
You only have to turn your back a second...they have no fear,

I went to the norfolk show at Sandringham one year,,while we had our caravan at Snettisham Saw the duke of edinborough on his racing trap .
Where bouts are you in Norfolk...

Oh Pat, let's hope this is the last lap. How will you cope? It is tough being without a fridge AND a cooker. You can't even keep salad stuff or milk very well without a fridge. I think I would have school dinners if I were you!! I remember when they did our bathroom I was glad we had another toilet, although they did get it replaced all in one day. At least you will be getting it all done in warmer weather. My kitchen and bathroom were done in winter and workmen NEVER shut any doors!!

Annx

Annx Report 2 Jul 2011 19:35

Yes Pat, we made tents on the back lawn using a blanket to cover the clothes horse. Then we'd put cushions inside and pretend to go to sleep and it would get boiling hot and we'd have to come out again!!!

Patricia

Patricia Report 2 Jul 2011 19:36

Annx...I will have the fridge not the washing machine and cooker or sink

We have some microwaves meals in to help us out

I do eat at lunchtime at school... but now what I would call a dinner lol.

Jane

Jane Report 2 Jul 2011 20:02

Oh ! a sheet over the chairs as a tent I remember well.It was so cosy under there, and you felt as though you were really away from home lol.A different world lol.
It makes me want to do it again ,but not sure I would be able to get down on the old knees and crawl .How about the Midnight Feasts??Not sure I ever got 'till midnight. It was more like 9 o'clock lol

Annx

Annx Report 2 Jul 2011 20:41

No .......midnight feasts were eaten very early weren't they! lol Tasted much nicer in your tent though.

Pat, you have made me remember those dried meals when they came out. I seem to remember a Paella with several packets in the box. They seemed so 'foreign and exotic' when they came first out. I can't remember the make though.

Jane

Jane Report 2 Jul 2011 21:24

Now you have got me thinking Ann lol I bought those meals when I was a Nurse living in a grotty flat. The name is on the tip of my tongue, but can I think of it? ........NO.This will drive me nuts now ,and I won't be able to sleep :-( :-(

Annx

Annx Report 2 Jul 2011 22:31

Silly me Pat......it was the washer not the fridge. That's a bit better......but I would have to wear a bib......bound to drop food down my front if I had no washer for a while.

Thank you Mandy.....that's it Vesta!! lol Hope you wake up feeling less tired tomorrow.

David, the neighbours won't know the place soon! You have certainly got a bit of momentum up on getting the jobs done. I had gout once when I was about age 30. All I will say is one word.....AGONY!! Poor Ralph if he gets that and it recurrs.

I'm off to bed too.....OH says my neck is a bit burnt so I better put something on it. I didn't think I was in the sun much, but it must have been with me bending down. It is so easy to get burnt these days. Nightie night xx

Patricia

Patricia Report 2 Jul 2011 23:05

David what with your damaged sink and my toilet we are doing well.

Mandy...I have emailed you....

Goodnight all

Morning everyone on a very muggy day.I don't think it will be very comfortable .I am sat by the fan.Mind you I have just run the hoover around while Chester is out on his walk.It is so much easier with him out of the way.
I am going to pop into TK M** in a bit and have a look at their handbags.I need something small. If I can't find anything there I will wait until Thursday when James and I are going to Milton Keynes as he needs a suit for the wedding on the 24th and also for any interviews that hopefully will come his way.
He needs a decent pair of shoes too.As Frank would say more EXPENCE :-( :-(
Ann your photos were brilliant. You don't often see a car covered in grass lol,and that motor bike looks so comfortable.I'd quite fancy a ride on that one.I bet it had a good sound system too.

Right must away BBL
