Morning all..
I have a photo taken on a donkey like that with my brother,,taken at Clacton on Sea..
My dad wore things on his shirt sleeves to shorten them too,
Managed to make an apointment last night for the doctor for this morning..I fell over backwards last thursday...went over atool box..my hand went down rather hard and there was a saw leaning up the wall and we all know worksmans are sharp..That fell against me and i have a ragged craze now...My ribs have been hurting me one side...He poked about and listened to my chest that side too..Just pulled muscles around my ribs...
The appoitment was for 9.30..The only people I may have been expecting was the tiler this morning...But at 7.15 the decorator arrived and another man from another co to take the bathrooms tiles off.
I gave them a coffee before I went out, when i came back an hour later they had made themselves another,,,the cheek of it...I have to goto work at 11.45...shall I hide everything lol..

Morning Pat How dare they help themselves in your kitchen, lol your very brave going to work and leaving work men in the house alone. I don't like having work men in especially when I'm the only one in the house, We try to arrange them for the weeks OH is on holiday. I'm just not comfortable being on my own with them and it's difficult to sometimes answer questions, , I sometimes have to phone OH at work. If the work is outside like mending a fence etc thats ok. so far we have had sun this morning but rain is forcasted for sometime today. :-( off to finish the ironing and then I can put the board away, Have got MIL back up for a weeks holiday from next Friday,

Morning All,
You have all been busy chatting and it has taken me ages to catch up on your posts.
Could I go to sleep last night????????? NO I lay there awake for hours. Got up at 4.35am for a wee and thought that would be that but no, I still lay there awake. Also woke OH up. dos'nt take much to wake him! He said he could'nt sleep either but was well away a few minuets later. I must have gone off abot 6am and slept till 20 past 10.
Watched two films on the telly last night, Australia then charlotte Grey. Wonder if that had anything to do with not sleeping? :-(
Pat that was a cheek for the workmen to make themselves more coffee, they should have asked first if they could make one while you were out which means they were'nt working all the time.
Rained here all day on and off yesterday so we were both indoors. Raining again this morning so I think I may go shopping. I have'nt been for two weeks now!!
Sheila I have done that with peas!! Gosh they do make lack marks on the bottom of the sauspan. I had to boil mine up with washing powder a few time to clean it up. Aslo made use of it to boil up teaspoons to get the tea stains off, and I used to use a tea strainer then so that went in too. All came out shining and clean after a good boil.
Maureen one step further along the road with daughter choosing her dress then! It is funny how you know when you put on the right one :-) When did yousay the wedding will be?
Fiona we are all about the same height, us girls on here!! I was 5ft 2 and a half but not sure how tall I am now. Will ask the nurse to measure me when I next go to the surgery just out of interest. I can't wear high heels now after injuring my toe a few years ago so no chance of me being taller.
Mandy bet the beaches will be even more crowded when the kids break up.
Pat was the donkey ride you used to go on at Clacton by the Butlins Holiday camp?? I used to ride those donkeys too!! :-D

I know I am the oldest MALE on our thread, but there no need to have a go at me !!! I wore braces the otd leater tag type with a button hole. The trousers at the back had a "V" shape and the buttons were on each side. We had adjusters on the braces also. The armbands were used in offices particularly for people leaning over the desks, It kept your cuffs from smudging trhe ink, when you were writing. What a FONT of knowledge I am :-D :-D :-D
Had a very bust day yesterday, by the time I had feed and watered the family I was beat. Got myself in a right old state, and lost it a bit. But they understoon, it's such a lot of extra work, and you want everything right, and want the food HOT when put in the dishes on the table. Then of course there was the deserts to prepare and put on the table when they were ready for them. I put the dishwasher on with a load of dishes and plates, and washed everything else by hand. ALL BY MYSELF. They went home about 8.30pm. I then showered and put dressing gown on. Oh how I could have murdered for a BOTTLE OF RED.
Ros, didn't eat much, and was feeling sick and weepy last night. Saying it wasn't fair that I had to do everything, and she couldn't help.!!!!
Jane, Is it 5'2" eyes of blue. Oh what 5'2" can do !!!!! I bet you are getting butterflies in the old tummy now.!!! Hope everything goes well. I haven't been to Canterbury since I was 16 years old. When we stopped there on the way to the coast on a Works "BINGO" (pis# up)
Pat, the cheek of the workmen going through your cupboards to help themselves. You should put a sign up "DON'T TOUCH"
Not a very bright day here, even though I am in my shorts, and bare chester. Don't get excited :-D :-D :-D :-D

Morning everyone,
Have had no end of trouble getting on here and the Frien** site as well. Trying to look up school friends, but page was broken there too. Really unwell yesterday with chest pains and sinus from the smell of paint. Joel came home with a bag full of dirty clothes covered in toothpaste, they had a bit of silly fun and a few drinks, well many :-S He was in one piece which was good :-) I had to wash the sleeping bag as well, really thick thermal one, but couldn't get the tooth paste off the cover. Went through the bedside table drawers and threw out heaps of rubbish. He is well pleased with his painted room and new bed.
Visit to the school today to try and sort out a few problems and then had my hair cut and coloured. I decided to go for a new look, but the colour is darker and I have a fringe swept across my brow, oh dear :-0 :-0 It will grow, but is annoying the hell out of me at the moment.
Sorry I have read through your threads, but can't remember a lot. Maureen that's really grand that your girl has picked out her dress - that's a huge tick!! Our winter days have been around 16-17 and some at 11-12, but I just feel the chill really badly anyway. We have a few 18 days coming up, but nasty weather has been forecast from Wednesday onwards with gale force winds, heavy rain and localised flooding. A bit like we had a few weeks ago.
Pat I do hope things go a bit better this week with the workmen and you can enjoy your holiday. Sorry to hear about your injury that sounds nasty, pulled muscles can be so painful. Recover quickly!!!!
Jane I wish I had done some sewing at school, would have made life easier and LESS EXPENSE!! Talking of spiders, he hasn't been on a rowing machine or exercise bike, but we have one very LARGE Huntsman spider sitting up in the corner, since Saturday. I think Keith has disturbed him/her when he's taken down the curtains in Joel's room. I don't mind it there, but when I walk around the room it moves with me. I also got a black house spider out the back door yesterday morning and he was back in again last night.
Off down to see the doctor tomorrow. Would love to be staying in bed all day, but I need to keep my appointments as you have to book 3 months in advance.
Frank did Ros and Lewis enjoy Harry Potter? I have heard it is very good. Looking forward to seeing it on DVD.
Well must away. Time for a cuppa and some tv. 9.07 pm EST
Have a good day
:-)

Morning All,
Well I never knew that about the armbands Frank.......you are a fount of knowledge. :-D :-D For what it's worth, I think it's not poor Ros that should be upset not being able to help, the family could have mucked in to help a bit. I hope you feel calmer again this morning and so sorry to hear Ros is feeling like she is. I hope she has perked up a bit this morning and feels a bit more like food.
Mel, I meant to watch Charlotte Grey too, but it had started before I remembered it was on!!

Greertings The sun is shining outside and I have hung out the washing but I do not know just how long it will last as more rain forcast., I have also tidied away all my research papers as they had taken over most of the downstairs rooms along with my next mailing for the operatics. Hubby is home on wednesday but i am going out all day tomorrow and going to an outdoor production in Harrogate tomorrow evening so not a lot of time left to tidy. Reading posts it looks as though I am taller than most being 5ft 7ins but I think you shrink with age. Frank It is amazing just how tired you can get cooking for others. I hope you have a quiet day today and that Ros is feeling happier. Pat Workmen are naughty and I would let me know that you are not happy with them helping themselves. Loved the Apprentice last night and I was pleased that Tom won although Helen seemed the best person to employ but did not have a good business idea. Going to see MIL this afternoon :-) :-)

Anne, We all have our Cross's to bear.!!!
Kim, Yes both of them were full of it when they returned from the cinema,
Would you believe it. Ros wanted to chop some of our big tree overhang on the next door neighbour lawn. She started out with a little pair of clippers. and the wheelie bin. I went out with the tree loppers and the saw. The bin is now full (only emptied this morning) and the footpath is covered in branches. I will go out again soon, and transfer them to the drive at the side of the bungalow. Then as I can will load the barrow, and take them to the allotment tip.

Oh Maureen what a lovely photo of you on the donkey take it that is your brother he looks handsome.
Mel I watched Australia and Charlotte Grey what fab films they were. Loved the red outfit Charlotte wore and the fashions of those times. what a sad little film though those poor little boys. Mel my saucepan is very burnt doing my best to clean it.
Frank Ros is feeling better then chopping trees she is very brave lady then sometimes pain makes you determined to do things when able.
Jane that sounds interesting what James is going to do. I hope he gets a good job after his studying.
I love the apprentice it is my favourite programme I wish Lord Sugar lived near me to sort a few people round here. I had a horrible women in the shop this morning she moaned at a penny on a bottle of pop and she said I will go up the road and get it cheaper so I said ok then and she said well give me a bag no please I said flimsy bags are free and strong bags are two pence she said flimsy not paying two pence after a penny extra for pop I said oh do you want the lemonade then and she said yes stupid. I did something awful I have to confess to. l saw the bag I gave her free had a hole in the corner and said nothing and she plonked her lemonade in and went off slamming the door. About five minutes she came back moaning my lemonades fell on my foot and fizzed up the bag broke. I had to hide a smile and said oh yes you needed a stronger bag those little ones are free just for sweets and stuff the stronger ones are better. do you want your pop replacing and she said yes I do. I said well help yourself and leave that one. she did and plonked the money down on the counter and went out. my ho would have killed me had he known.most customers are ok.
I watched Andre and loved that cute little fellow playing in his orchestra the voilin so sweet . He seems very popular with the men Andre and I love the way he brings guests in from all over the world Annx The Irish fiddler went down well with Les. bet you had a fun night both of you.
I do only have one brother Maureen it sounds like you had a lovely time.I love Regents park it remInds me of when we lived in London I miss those kind of outings.I loved St James park with the deer also. I used to watch the guards parading in Battersea park on a Sunday the kids loved it Ashley when small would march up and down with a umbrella. My ho is terrible with bananas he often gets a banana peels it plonks it on bread and butter on the workspace and leaves it there. I said why dont you eat this banana it goes black after its peeled and he said well throw it then but what a waste and they are not cheap. I could kill him.
David do you like your new bungalow it must be exciting a nice new place wish we could get a bungalow instead of this big cold place. It is dark in the wet dreary weather also it does my head in.
Pat be careful do not injure yourself. I love Harry Potter I watched it and loved the moving chessmen Well will go now my son in law the cheeky man just got a shenko visa for 6 months and asked Michelle for two hundred pound so he could go travelling around europe that business of his mums kidney was rubbish. I hate him now and asked him to come so he would take the rest of his clothes he left my ho s going to be here and he wont mince his words. Michelle is heart broken but throwing herself into work.
Sorry its long but I am waiting for him and at a loss to know what to do would go out he had better turn up. Somehow I do not think we will see him again. Give him to 4 oclock and then will walk the dogs blow him .My ho will fall asleep and not answer the door proberly.

KIM did not see your message how are you. now. Paint can be hard on the old sinuses I have trouble with paint it makes me dizzy. Once I painted a garden dwarf and had a dreadful sinus blocked up nose I was out of the world with medication for days I just wanted to sleep.I would sleep in the garden sat in the chair upright.
Good job I did not see that Huntsman spider with my heart problem. I had a daddy long legs fall on my head it was dead stuck to the ceiling and swept it off and it landed in my hair that gave me the creeps.
Why is it workman always help themselves the ones I had in used to make themselves pots of tea and eat my biscuits.
Oh theres the bell it is trouble I wonder.

Am having a bit of a break from filling in my tax assessment. I think it's a real cheek that they take my little bit of earnings add it to my pension and tax me on all of it. Sometimes you wonder whether it's worth working at all.
Aren't Huntsmen spiders very poisonous Kim, I wouldn't be able to settle knowing one of them was in the room.
Yes that's my brother Sheila, I always thought he was a bit 'goofy' as a kid but he got better looking as he got older, was always modelling himself on Cliff Richard with that turned up lip, he'd never admit it now though ....lol
Lucky for me I don't have workmen in, my son usually sorts out problems or if he can't he'll get one of his mates to.
It's horrible Mel, when you toss and turn trying to get to sleep, I have a few of those nights too, at least we don't have to get up for work the next day.
Daughter's wedding is next June, they both live in London but are getting married in a village in Kent, a very pretty church there.

The neighbour from across the road, came over this morning, said are you going to take the trees down. "NO" I said, just trimming them up. He then said When I sit at the back of my lounge, I can't see the skyline. My reply was NEITHER CAN I !!!!! Move closer to the window. Cheeky sod. He causes trouble all round the village, poking his nose in, where it dosen't belong !!! He dosen't want to push his luck with me. !!!! The nurse down the road stoped to have a word with Ros, When Ros told what he said. She said he should live by me, I have conifers 25 feet high, and I wouldn't cut them down for anyone.
Ros is sitting trying to start a jigsaw. She loves doing them and finds them relaxing. I am sitting nurseing my aching good arm and shoulder, My back is killing me.!!!! Wish I still had a bath, I could lay and soak for an hour !!!!
Maureen, What is it with us "OLD UNS" who lay awake till all hours :-D :-D :-D only joking really. but it does seem strange how some nights the brain just won't shut down.
Where's SHORTY this afternoon, late lunch with Fizz ????
Shelia, If I were you, his cloths would be thrown out into the yard, he could pick them up there, if he wants them, if not. TOO BAD. What a lowlife to say he had given his kidney, to his Mother, when he hadn't. Sorry, but thats my feelings.

Sheila that is awful for him to make such things up. If he's capable of that, what else might he lie about. Michelle must tell herself she deserves better and I wouldn't give him the money!! I had a chuckle about the bag too! :-D
That little boy playing the violin was Akim Camara I think. He saw Andre when he was age 2 and afterwards asked his mum for a violin. A year later age 3 he was playing for Andre. I often watch him on You*ube, so cute and so good on his tiny violin he always brings a lump to my throat.....aahhh!
Some paint fumes give me a headache and runny eyes Kim...........and I do most of the painting too. Good that Joel appreciates the efforts with his room though. I hope your trip to school got things sorted out.
OH had his last lot of school minutes done for me to check when I got home today. He always had someone else (PA!!) to do any typing when he was at work so it is not his strongest point! I must say he words things brilliantly and has a real knack of how to phrase things though. After months of nothing at the start they have offered him 2 more schools now!!!! He is thinking about it as he doesn't want too much to do!!!! lol
I cooked a dinner today, pork chops with apple, cauli, carrots and beans and pots from the garden! I managed to spill stuff down my top too!!
Pat, what a cheek just taking things like that!! I must say the chaps who did our bathroom and ensuite got through a fair bit of tea and coffee, but I told them it was to keep them going and they only stopped for a lunch break. If I went out, they would wait till I got back. They kept the floors covered and made no mess so they got biscuits the last day!! lol
Jane, you have been busy getting everything ready....and found time for cleaning too!! I do hope Chris is ok too.......can't have the good doctor getting ill for Wednesday!!! :-S :-S

The gas cooker and washing machine and dishwasher were delivered. The cental heating and every thing else work (as they should). Ellen's not liking it as much as I yet which over a while is bit :-( :-S I'm hoping when we are moved in and she is surrounded by her furniture etc that she will be much happier in it. Were getting too old to choose to be unhappy.

Morning David. Glad all is going well so far with your move, I hope Ellen settles ok in her new home. we woman become attach to a house and it's memories more than men I think, if our children were brought up there we tend to remember little memories that once happened through their childhood.
Weather dull & cloudy . just hope the rain stays away, Slow cooker on with tonights dinner. OH off to Germany today. he is going to drop me off in town before driving to Edinburgh to catch his plane. I want to go to our local reference library . I believe they hold records on burials at the local Cemetery, I have quite a few ancestors who died in Hamilton and most of them so far were buried in BENT Cemetery, so I have a list of names and dates of more people I wish to look up. Don't have any baby sitting today so I can relax and there's no need to hurry home. Hope everyone has a good day.
