Poor little baby Ethan, i'am sure once he's has a good nights sleep he'll be more settled .

Jane Report 22 Jul 2011 22:29

The first Photo I got of Ethan today was on my dining table having his nappy changed lol Poor Rachel looks so tired and as white as a sheet. She seems to spend all the time feeding.Ethan has big reflux trouble so he sicks everything up and is then hungry again :-S :-S
Hopefully tomorrow he will be a bit more settled.Hannah will be home tomorrow. That will be nice for Rachel as they are Childhood friends.
Chester has been like something demented .I had to keep him shut away for some of the time as I was worried he might jump up at the baby.He is totally shattered now.He is off for another mini holiday at lunchtime tomorrow until monday while we are away for the wedding(Rachel's Brother)

Well I have just had some really disgusting dried up Pizza for dinner :-S :-S
Thankfully Chris had a good lunch at his conference in Oxford.
Tomorrow I have some lovely Italian Chicken Breasts, which I will do with oven roasted new potatoes, red onions, peppers, courgettes, and carrots.
We will have that early evening.
I need my bed now .Just realised I have been awake since 5am.
As Chris just said on his way up."It's been a VERY long day.
Night Night all xx

Kim I hope you are OK .I don't think you have posted today.

That funeral sounds interesting Mandy. I didn't know traveller's ones were like that! I have seen white horses and carriage used for a child's funeral. There is a headstone for a traveller in Leics I read about that has a fairground carousel carved on it.

That's great progress Pat......now you can go away and have a lovely holiday!

Oh Jane!! Poor little Ethan......hope his parents get a good nights sleep too....no wonder Rachel looks so tired. Thumbs up that (sorry! lol) all goes well on Sunday and that you play your part ok......more piccies for us too please....

I must get off to bed too........very tired tonight as the Magpies were tearing at the gutter grids at 5.30 am this morning followed by the Crow Chorus at 6.00am.....night, night all xxxx

Morning Lazy bones,

Was up a 6am. just couldn't sleep. Went down the pub last night, and had to get out twice in the night. Mother nature calling !!!!

Ros, had her scan yesterday on her tummy, nothing to report. She did eat a fair meal last night, but had to fast all day before the scan. So that's perhaps why.

We had cross words again yesterday. She went to park the car, and gave the kerb a good thump, damaged the alloy wheel, I was not pleased. and showed it, in my usual way, SHOUTING AND RAVING. That set her off crying, made me feel a real jerk.!!!

I have started to look at Wheelchairs on Ebay. It's getting to the point where she can hardly walk to the car, let alone go shopping. She cancelled her Saturday trip with her friend last night. She is in so much pain, when she stands, and tries to walk. It's back to the GP for another referal, the present specialist won't consider an operation, so lets see if anyone else will.

Just us this weekend, so will get her to rest as much as possible.

Lewis and his Mum arrived in France Thurs morning. Very hot, down the pool yesterday from 10.00am till 4.30pm He's got five weeks of that. LUCKY BOY

Morning Frank and all.
Fancy making Ros cry you naughty thing.Tut Tut :-S :-S
A wheel chair may be a good idea to have even if she only uses it occasionally .
I can't stop now as Rachel,Darren and Ethan are on the way from the Hotel !!
Ear plugs at hand lol.Chester is looking at me!!!!!!.(thinking HELP).He goes at 1pm.It will be nice and quiet for him with the lady he stays with.
BBL

Nothing from Kim for a while.I hope she is ok.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 23 Jul 2011 11:07

Morning All,

The sun is out today and oh has been doning something outside but I only got up at 10.25am. Got up in the early morning for a wee and went back to sleep which is fatal for me cos I sleep forever then. Oh should have haad the cement mixer on then I would have woken up as it is outside the bedroom window.

Well glad Pat has got most of the work done on her kitchen and she will be rested by the time she gets back to have the bathroom finished.

Shirl that is really hot over there it is a wonder any veg will grow in that heat. You should have a tom plant indoors with your AC where you can keep an eye on it for watering.

David must still be very busy as we have'nt heard from him. There is so much to do after a move. I for one would hate to move now with all the stuff I have around me now.

Frank give my thoughts to Ros please I know just what it is like to live with a bad back but I was much much younger then. I lived on painkillers for years when my son was growing up. Had to have a cleaner as I could'nt bend at all. What kind of wheelchair are you thinking about. A motorised one? Some of them are extremly good now. We have a friend who has one and oh's 2 sisters have them.

Ann I am fighting the birds with my soft fruit. They ate all the red and white currants in the fruit cage this year and I did'nt get any. they have also eaten a lot of the tayberries but I do manage to get some of those. The other plum tree on the wall is covered in silverleaf, and I should really cut it down. One outside the wall has died with this disease. Problem being they were cut back too late in the year.

Jane have you picked any of those plums in the hedgerow yet. They are lovely and sweet and yellow inside if they are the same as my ones.

Where is our other Anne?

Hope Kim is ok and sending my love.

Maureen I know what you mean about getting in the garden when the weather is nice. Blow the housework it will still be there whenit's raining!! Thats my policy............... until I sit on the loo and see cobwebs by the bath and on the light!

Ann just think how nice your garden will be next year when you have it all sorted again.

Have just remembered it is my turn to do the church flowers this week and next so I better go and see what I can pick!!

May be back later......................................................

I have been looking at the push type wheel chairs, that fold down into the car boot. If the problem were to become permanent then I would have to consider an electric one. But then I think, Ros. will feel it's the end of walking for her. What we would do without her driving I just don't know. Won't think of that yet !!!

Have dug another root of potato's and picked a load of runner beans, enough for us for Sunday and for our young neighbours. Also boiling some beetroot at the moment. I like that in a cheese sandwich, or even on it's own, when it's as fresh at this is.

Going to have an hour in the garden. Then see about lunch.
Have got all veg done for SUNDAY. So tomorrow should be an easy day. No company coming, as yet !!!!

Mel, She has a cleaner "ME" :-D :-D :-D :-D and chief cook and bottle washer.Bed maker, ironer, gardener, Jack of all trades, master of none ;-) ;-) ;-)

Jane, You did make me smile about CHESTER. Poor old sod, Not use to having children around, just like us I suppose. It's nice to see them, but at least we can give them back. Have a good time at the wedding and BEHAVE YOURSELF.

Mandy, I read that book it three sessions, couldn't put it down. What a way of life they had. I thought mine was hard :-D :-D

Afternoon All,

Just got back from having brekkie out and going to look at the sandstone slabs the paver has quoted for at a local landscapers. It looks like he will be able to do our patio in October now which is sooner than he first thought. The father of the asian chap where he is doing some work at present has asked him to do his drive etc and the paver says it is as big as a football field and will take him 5 or 6 weeks to do so he has squeezed us in ahead of that job!!

I really feel for Ros Frank. It must be so miserable for her, but she mustn't lose hope. I had those same thoughts when my knees were really bad and it is upsetting. I have scratched my alloy wheels on kerbs when parking close to them which I do. It helps if you have anything painful to have plenty of room to open the door to get out of the car. Naughty you making her cry when she has so much pain!! Lucky you weren't left to make your own way home!! lol My sister had one of those fold up chairs at first, then she got an electric one, but found she struggled to lift it out of the car. In May she got a car with a hoist and says she loves it and has got more of her life back again and can whizz around shops on her scooter as well as take the dog for walks!! It has perked her up no end. Luckily, she gets Mobility payments and they pay for her to have a replacement car every 3 years, all insurance and maintenance paid, she just pays the fuel. I do hope Ros finds someone who can help.

Frank, you need to check for Japanese snipers before you go in your greenhouse!! How do you find the tomatoes? lol I take all the side shoots off mine like Mel and just grow a single stem up the canes. I love fresh cooked beetroot too.....must see if we have any ready.

I hope Ethan is more settled today and hopefully needing some sleep!! I bet Chester will be packing his own toys ready to go if not!! lol

Mel, how did you hurt your back? I bet you thought you'd never get back to all the gardening you do now. Yes we were saying in the car that 'this time next year' all the heavy work outside will be done!!!

Maureen, my sweet peas have started to flower!!

Maureen

Maureen Report 23 Jul 2011 13:19

Too late to wish Pat a happy holiday, where was she going? She can do with a break from all the hassle of the builders.

Daughter will be here soon, she wanted to go for a picnic to Gunnersbury Park, don't suppose any of you have heard of it. It is a very big park which spans Ealing, Acton Chiswick and Brentford. It was owned by the Rothschilds years ago, and roaylty before that. Has a museum, boating lake, fishing lake, golf course, putting green and of course childrens play areas. I think she wanted to relive her childhood as I used to take them there quite a lot, but the weather is not good enough, looks like rain, shall just have to go shopping instead.

Poor Ros, fancy shouting at her Frank, but I guess you are both feeling the strain of her ill health. You should see the state of my wheels, I'm always hitting the kerb, at least then I know I'm in enough to park ....lol

Maureen

Maureen Report 23 Jul 2011 13:27

Just seen your post Ann. My vegetable growing is on a par with Shirl's, at least she can blame the weather, I didn't bother this year as I got tiny little peppers and just a handful of tomatoes last year. My sweet peas aren't any better, they are all straggly and no sign of flowers, shan't bother with them next year.

Wonder how Jane's getting on. It takes some getting used to having a baby or toddler in the house. Finley is tall enough to reach the shelf now and makes a grab for all the photo frames

MillymollyAmanda Report 23 Jul 2011 13:33

Afternoon everyone,

Bit chilly here today , i wish the sun would shine so we could sit out in the garden ,there's also quite a wind getting up , could do with some of your heat here Shirl !!!

Poor Ros ,in so much pain , it sounds as if it's really getting her down now , there's only so much you can take , she must get so frustrated at times , so don't shout at her Frank !!! :-)
A wheel chair sounds a good idea and you can buy a battery pack that fits on ,will make it a lot easier for you, no pushing required then.

What book was that then Frank ? i don't remember saying about a book !!

I'am sure you won't need the ear plugs today Jane, all that traveling probably upset him ,just give him lots of cuddles which i'am sure you will, carn't wait for some photo's.

No Kim today !! hope she ok!! she did say she had no energy the other day so perhaps she's just having a few days rest.

Hubby's now talking about changing our interior doors downstairs !! we have those flush ones ,and he's now looking at fitting some panel ones, which we had on a few years ago and he changed them !!! builders !!!!!
Also talking about changing the worktops and tiles in the kitchen , i quite fancy some of those small coloured tiles on the walls and maybe black worktops.
Looks like rain , better get my washing in .

Maureen Report 23 Jul 2011 13:49

Has your OH been reading Pat's posts Mandy ....lol I'm a bit like that too, like to change things around quite often, I don't know whether I get bored looking at the same decor or I just get bored and want to do something. I quite fancy the black worktops, son's got them in his kitchen but I don't think they would look right in mine.

Frank

Frank Report 23 Jul 2011 14:03

Sorry MANDY, It's not you it's MAUREEN, What's up with me. :-D :-D Daft as a brush.

Mandy, I didn't know you could buy a battery pack to fit on a wheel chair. How does it work. ????

Have been in the garden, put in a row of lettace, raddish, onions, andcabbage. Also transplanted a pot of leeks, enough for two rows.
I took your advise Mel, and just made a deep hole and dropped a plant in, should I have covered them up or leave them alone.????

Hope you are having a nice afternoon all, clouded up here, so might get some rain. Last night I had just watered the outside Tomato plants, when the heavens opened for about two hours.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 23 Jul 2011 14:05

No Maureen , it's because son has bought some grey slate floor tiles to go down in his kitchen ,and that set him thinking about ours lol

The trouble is we buy them , they get stored in the shed and i have to wait while he does other peoples work!!! ,so although he's thinking about it now it could be next year before it gets done , but there you go we do save on the labour costs !!

My Sweet Peas are flowering lovely , i was really pleased as i grew them from seed , last year i bought the plants and they didn't do anything .

Maureen Report 23 Jul 2011 14:06

I didn't think it would take you long to read that book Frank. Good wasn't it.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 23 Jul 2011 14:13

Frank, dad had one for my mum's wheel chair ,we have it in the shed , you have the control on the handle of the chair and a battery that you charge up and fits under the chair ,you control the chair by the button and it takes the strain of you having to push the chair .

I think it was called a Wheel Chair Power Pack .

Hello eveyone,

Just popping my head in before I go to bed. Have been playing cards with the family - lots of laughter and not much concentration.

Have missed being on here, but the tank is empty at the moment and my typing not great.

Four days solid rain here and it finally eased to a drizzle this afternoon. Lots of localised flooding, but mainly on the coast. The crops haven't been wiped out this time.

Frank sorry to hear about Ros. I think another opinion is needed and a small wheelchair. I have one for the rough times. Give her my best wishes.

Hope Pat is having a fantastic time, sounds like the worst is well and truly behind her.

Jane enjoy the wedding you will be just fine. Hope Chester enjoys his holiday and little Ethan gets over the reflux - nasty condition for bubs and a real drain on Rachael. Thank you for all the brilliant photos of James' graduation.

Hi to Mandy, Mel, Maureen Annx, Sheila and everyone else. I hope to feel more energetic soon, just have to take it easy :-S

Have a happy afternoon - lots of sunshine for everyone to enjoy.

Bye for now, Kim 12.36 am EST

Here i am. Done the church flowers after lunch and it took me two hours. Then did a bit up the border but not much. Sprnt most of the time looking to see what I need to cut down. I have a bad arrack of rust up there which has killed off all the leaves on my hollyhocks. Even the flowers have gone a bit brown. Such a shame as I ws looking forward to them flowering this year.

Frank our neighbour had a good wheelchair for his wife and that has a small battery pack that fits on it. He said I could have it for mum if I needed it. I will see if he still has it and let you know. We may get it just for the postage????!!!!

WE are having a chinese tonight as oh needs petrol and deisel for all the mowers so we can pick that up when we go and get the meal.

He has finished the wall up the side of the road today so now all he has to do is level the grass to the wall.
