Morning everyone
Glad you are back safe and sound Pat.I hope you had a great holiday and have recharged your batteries.
Good to know Polly arrived in Canada Liz.I know when Hannah went off on long trips with school I couldn't relax until I knew she was there.
I bet Edward will love the trip on the Speedboat.I have never been in one.I think they look really exciting but not sure if it would be for me.

Mel are you making the most of peace and quiet while OH is out ??It has clouded over a bit here too at the moment but very warm.Next door has just lit a Bl***y bonfire and it is all coming my way.He must be burning all the hedge cutting from yesterday.good job I got the washing in earlier.
I wonder if Mandy has been off to the Coast Mel.

I am about to attack the ginormous pile of ironing AGAIN :-S :-S.May do it in bits as my thumbs are killing me today.
Poor Chester is still waiting for his walk.Chris had a very long sleep this morning.
I think I will watch the crime channel while I iron.BBL

Morning to all my friends,

I,m not the happiest bunnie in the garden today.

I managed to get Ros to eat a small bowl of Rice Pudding last night. I didn't have an Indian takeaway. Instead I found a jar of Lloyd Grossma# Balti sauce in the cupboard, and in the freezer was a box of frozen rice over from last week. When shopping the other day I bought a pack of cooked king prawns. Out came the pan, in went the balti sauce and the prawns. The rice went in the microwave, and out of the blue, I had a meal, good it was too.
Couldn't tempt Ros to eat anything else, and she decided to go to bed. That upset my routine, as I always go first, have a read then take my sleeping tablet. So I sat watching tv till 1am.taking my tablet at 12.30. so it was working by the time I got into bed.
This morning she is not good. her bloods are down to 5.4 so thats an improvement. She won't/can't eat or drink, and now has upset tummy. at 10am she decided to go back to bed. still there .I will leave her there for the day, if thats what she want.

No sign of the Patch working yet Mel. Perhaps later in the day, I hope so.

Glad you are home safe and sound Pat, now back to reality, and the builders. Hope they won't be long now, before they finish.

Liz, You must not worry, the speed boats all have life jackets, and the drivers are very experienced.

Liz, I like you, had a collection of various pets/amimals. Can't ever remember saying prayers for them. but would bring home wounded birds, BATS, Stoat.(NOT A GOOD IDEA) they can't half bite :-D :-D :-D

My artist work won't be able to be tested till Sept. when the art class re-opens. Looks out for the HEADLINES "Colour blind old git, paints masterpiece" No comment from you Jane.

Hows our Kim today, rested and feeling ok I hope.

No sign of Mandy or Maureen, They haven't gone away have they ????

Jane Report 31 Jul 2011 12:26

What kind of comment do you mean Frank ??? I'm sure any comment would be a positive one on your wonderful artistic skills ;-) ;-)
Goodness,Ros really needs to start eating more doesn't she.You don't think she is now getting into a habit of not eating do you.I know that can happen.Lets hope you can tempt to something today Frank.

Resting from my ironing now.I think I will get a drink and sit outside.Mind you the bonfire next door is still churning out great clouds of smoke :-S :-S

Afternoon everyone,

No we haven't gone away Frank i wish !!! just been busy at son's tiling his floor , hubby had all the fiddly bits to do , under all the appliances !! looks really nice now its done ,and i kept the little ones happy playing games with them .
We've now decided to change our floor tiles in the downstairs wet room as they are so slippery ,for the same ones as son has just had layed ,they are a dark grey colour and will be rougher under foot .

Poor Ros,she must be getting weak now ,how long can you go not eating very much ?
Lets hope those patches start kicking today and she gets some relief from the pain.
How's the selling going Frank, still making a mint !!!! lol

Hubby's supposed to be watching the racing , he's sound asleep !!!!!

Off to read my book in the garden now . BBL

Jane put your fan in the garden and blow their smoke back at them!!! Ha ha ha.

I too have a great pile of ironing sitting in the bucket on the kitchen floor but I just can't face it at the moment.

William was saying about Wagon Wheels being smaller too and I used to buy them for oh but he also said how small they were from when we used to buy them at school. I never liked them much but my best friend would buy them.

Also we had some mini choc rolls this week and again oh said how small they appeared now to when we were children. It also happened with Mars bars and Picnic bars.

Jane, The law round here forbiis bonfires in the gardens before after dusk. In fact I don't think you are aloud Fires at any time. I seem to remember somebody getting done for lighting a bonfire in daylight hours over the allotments. !!!!

Still only managed to get Ros to have a glass of iced water, so I can't see me getting anything down her later. I have done enough Veg. to feed an army, if Harvey wants to he can take it home with him for the next few days, before he goes to France on Thursday. There will also be a big chunk of beef. I think I am loosing weight as well, I know Ros has lost almost two stone. I will start cooking for ONE, and if she fancies a bit, she can have some of mine. I hate wasting food.

I am going to ring or go down to the Doctors tomorrow, to see if he can surgest anything for Ros. She can't go on like this, she's not talking to me, just sits/lays on the sofa, watching tele. I like it quite, but this is getting beyong a joke.

Going back into the garden now for more reading.!!!!

Jane

Jane Report 31 Jul 2011 13:40

LOL Mel.That is a good idea.I just went out and shouted "Pooh what a stink"
I doubt they heard me though.I think it is dying down now.About time too :-S

Mandy you have been busy.Enjoy relaxing in the garden with your book.
Some tiles are so dangerous when they get wet.I have found some Hotel Bathrooms have very slippery ones and have had to tread very carefully.

I just noticed that our flower trough was coming apart.Must be the weight .Chris has just been out and nailed it back together again. That could have been a right mess :-( :-(

Ann ,I bet you won't be too keen to pick up your OH from a BIG match again in a hurry. It sounded a bit scary .You never know what mood the fans are in (especially if they support the loosing team).

Jane

Jane Report 31 Jul 2011 13:51

Frank. It sounds as though Ros is Clinically Depressed now.Just the way you have described things. She has lost an awful lot of weight and sounds like she is on a downward spiral.I think you are right to speak to the GP ,but persuade Ros to go too.She can't go on like this.(neither can you)
Keep your pecker up and keep your cool !!

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 31 Jul 2011 14:27

Well i don't like to complain ,but boy its hot out there ,i've had to come in to cool off !!

Frank, i agree with Jane , it does sound as if Ros is depressed , do try and get her to the doctors .

Jane

Jane Report 31 Jul 2011 14:49

Well I have just been out de heading the roses, but it is so hot I have come in too Mandy.I haven't seen the forecast for next week. What is it?
I could do with a lovely paddle at the seaside right now.Roll my trousers up just like Dad used to do.He would do that when Janice and I were young and in the sea.He stood on the edge of the water to keep an eye on us.Mum would be sunbathing in her white towelling Bikini lol.I found a photo of her in that Bikini not long ago,and she didn't look bad at all.She was quite brave really as all her friends wore swimsuits.
I have never worn a Bikini in my life. The nearest I came was one of those things that had a top and bottom linked by a strip up the front with a gold coloured ring(bit like a curtain ring),but from the back it looked like a Bikini.I just never had the nerve or the figure to wear one.I won't even wear a swimming costume these days.Wish I could :-S

Chris has shut himself in the study doing accounts.I am staying well out of the way :-D :-D

MillymollyAmanda

Hi Shirl.

I have a pic on my desk of you. It's the Christmas one with you standing by the tree.

I always wore bikins!! from an age of about 8 when mum made me one in small green gingham. It had a flat bra rop and bloomers on the bottom. The next one was anvy blue also made by mum which had a middle strapp to the bra and bone across. Many more followed, one was royal blue and had a white pleated skirt on the bottom bit. A terry striped one in yellow white and navy blue. A pink gingham one in the 70's. a black one in 1969 I tried on whilst pregnant. One with wide straps in blue with a green and blue stripped bottom. A multi coloured one of turq, pink and green with a sleevelees see through jacket that whnt over it. A blue and white strpped one with wide straps. More too I suppose but they are the ones that come to mind. Oh and a bright green one with shoestring straps.

Sorry Tracy, I spoke to Laura this am, and of course I forgot to ask!!! I do know that Polly has arrived safely so that's good. Been a fair day here! lots of cloud but warm, and hot when the sun came out, quite dark now, looks like rain! I used to wear a bikini, a few years ago now! I had a very pretty pink gingham one way back in 1961 when I was 18 and thin!! (Ian carried a piccy of me in it round with him for ages, till it fell to bits- like me! ) but I always wore a bikini for years, till I got too tubby! (and old!) my mother wore one too for years, we like the sun, us ladies! I certainly still wear a 'one piece' on the odd occasions we go swimming. Not done much today apart from a trip to the 'tip' with MORE rubbish, Scones and cream for tea Yum, so slimming!!!!!

Jane

Jane Report 31 Jul 2011 16:36

Clotted Cream I hope Liz.Only clotted will do with Scones.I am now feeling very nastalgic (how the devil do you spell that word?).Tea on a Sunday at home was sometimes Mum's homemade Scones,Strawberry Jam and Local Clotted Cream.Mmmmmmm! Scrummy.
How do do all pronounce Scones?I say Scon.
Mel you had a lot of Bikinis. How can you remember all of them!!!
I do remember Gingham was very popular.I think I had a pink Gingham Bra,size 30 AA lol,but it had prickly lace .Itchy :-( :-(
Talking of Bras made me think of our David and Sadie the Bra Lady.
I bet David is having to wait to have his Broadband thing or whatever it's called to get his computer set up again.I know my sister had to wait 2 weeks before she could get on line again when she moved.

Tracey Report 31 Jul 2011 16:41

NO PROB LIZ JUST ASKED.MAY HAVE KNOWN SINCE I LIVED THERE.

NEVER DID TRUST BIKINI (ON-ME) WITH MY LUCK--HAD TWO PIECE SWIM SUITE -----DO REMEMBER WHEN '' EASTER WILLIAMS'' SWIMMING MOVE STAR WAS ALL THE RAGE----MUMS FRIEND IN U.S.A. SENT ME A WHITE ONE PIECE WITH SWORD FISH ACROSS IT -BOY DID I THINK I WAS HOT
