Aftrenoon All,
We had glorious rain AT LAST!! It rained in the night and has rained most of today, giving everything a really good soak and filling the waterbutts back up. It feels so much fresher too after a really hot night.
Saw MIL and FIL earlier, FIL had been to docs to see what the results of his blood tests were after his 'MOT'. He said everything was fine and was where it should be and doing what it should do!!! lol His swollen lip after the tooth extractions has gone down now so he looks his old self again. MIL has had her bladder MRI and is waiting to go for a biopsy next. She says the pain she has in the mornings is agony, but is better in the afternoons.
It sounds as if Ros is getting a really thorough check now Frank and I bet she feels a little more hopeful. I'm glad she managed a bit of food.......not so easy to say no in someone else's house. If you are missing cooking, there are a few of us that would love your dinners!!!! lol
My back has been worse again today, so I haven't done much.........I know why it is.......being left for ages at the hairdressers while she had to keep trotting to answer the phone, especially that chair where your head is craned back to wash your hair! I could hardly get up after.
Pat it sounds like the grandchildren had a good time at the park......phew, playing football......I bet you passed on that!!
Liz, what a coincidence!! We watched a Pigeon at the top of a tree in the back field this morning doing just the same and I have never seen it before. It had it's wings stretched up and out as if it was trying to catch every drop to wash it's feathers.
William I am loving your memories. I remember listening to Toytown on the radio when I was little, with Larry the lamb and Mr Ma-a-a-yor! I can also remember being scared to death listening to Dan Dare, Pilot of the Future with Dad, then Quatermass when I was a bit older. I remember Round the Horn and The Billy Cotton Band Show and the Goons. A strong memory of riding in my boyfriend's car was listening to radio Luxembourg, or rather trying to as it was so hard to keep it tuned in!! All those gurgles, whistles and buzzing!! lol
Fiona, it sounds like you have a nice space for something else in your kitchen now. The combi will be much more efficient I would think, but the hot water through the tap is a bit slow with ours.
Jane what a cute little Robin.....he doesn't look that scared either!
Kim, our neighbour still has her late husband's car as well as her own car and he died over a year ago. With it still being there, we still think of him as being around somewhere. She uses both cars though and she cannot fit all the grandchildren in her own car as it is a 2 seater. I can understand Glenda being sad to see the car go, but at least it sounds like a good home for it.

Ann those blooming chairs at the hairdressers should be abolished (health and safety) lol I am surprised that a new design of chair that is better for the neck an back hasn't been patented.Someone could make a fortune.Take it easy Ann.
I have just sent another pic of a young pigeon .I think it must be wondering where it's Mum is :-S :-S.It has been under the Bay tree for ages now ,right near where all the feathers are from this mornings carnage.I tried to pick them up but they just stuck to the gardening gloves lol.I just hope the young one is old enough to fend for itself.

Evening all, Great news, she ate some mini chicken fillits, our own potatoes and Ratatoui( Cant spell) with own courgettes. Not masses but at least she has eaten something.
Did all the ironing this afternoon. So that will stop her wanting to get up and do it.
The Doctor did say to her today. That if he tried to operate, she would almost certainly end up in a wheelchair. So we know where we stand there !!!
Jane I had to smile about the bird bit. If you could catch 24 blackbirds to could bake a pie :-D :-D :-D :-D
All you young ones, going on about watch with mother. My first recollection of T.V. was coming home from junior school one afternoon, Mum was out, so I put the Tele on. It was the original "SWEENY TODD" Couldn't get out of the chair through FRIGHT. Seeing all the bodies going through the trapdoor to the pie shop below. I was about 9 or 10 at the time.
Yes william, all theold comics were great. I think they were about 2d to buy, I used to getr them from a friend, who's parents could afford them. Do you remember the penny "SPECK" apples with a mark on them. our green grocer would let us have them for 1d. Twopenneth worth of chips. Pinching the beer bottles from the back of the Pub to take back to the off licence. Yes and the 1d arrowroot bisciuts in the big jag. Smiths crisps with the little blue salt bag. If you were lucky, they would let you buy crushed bags of crisps at half price. There were the days !!!!!
Hope everyone enjoyed the rain today except Mr MEL and CHRIS. better tomorrow, so they say . We have the Canal Festival this weekend, but don't think ROS will be partaking in any of it. She has said she WON'T GO IN THE WHEELCHAIR. so that's me told. Wwe will see when Saturday gers here.

The poor thing looks as if it doesn't know what to do, Jane!! Life can be tough in the animal world.
I thought I saw a fox in the back field, waiting in the long grass where most of the bunny holes are near the hedge. It was a gingery colour and just kept still. OH came out to have a look and said it must be some of the dead taller weeds and grasses as the bunnies were hopping around in front of it!!! lol

Hello David! Glad to see you back on board. You must be relieved now you are finally in your new home.I hope you have many happy years there. Shame about that filling :-S :-S Thanks Frank for all your help on the Eb** thing.I will wait until the morning and if the car is not up then will get James or You to help! I believe it can be several hours before it shows up.I think we have done everything right.Quite a rigmarol (sp) setting up accounts etc.I think I have done James's head in today,by calling him every few minutes 'to help me'.In the end he just shoved me aside and did all that was needed. Just off to dish up dinner(think it will be a bit of a disaster ).But Hey! I have had a stressful day lol

I'm just a year older than Mandy William lol. Mandy you mention Brer Rabbit. Was he a bit of a scallywag?I need to refresh my memory so will have a bit of a google. I hope the Pigeon will be fine ,but the fact I got so close to it without him flying off is a bit worrying.I did chase it away in the end and it disappeared under the hedge. It was like a sitting target. :-S :-S I will get Chris to open the curtains in the morning to make sure it is all clear lol.I can't be doing with more feathers and murder.
