I broke the little pad opff my glasses yesterday evening washing them. Found it at last but trying to put it back I broke it. Got the old pair out and took one off those, tried to put it on and broke that too. Don't know what I am going to now as I only have one more on the old glasses.

Morning Jane, Mel and all,
Another sunny, pleasant day here. Took an outdoor setting over to some young friends who have just purchased their first home. It is such an exciting time for them and the place has heaps of character. We had afternoon tea and lots of laughs watching the neighbour's cat stalk the birdlife - didn't have a chance, lol!!! Did me a power of good to get out of the house for a while.
Mel had the same trouble with my glasses a few weeks ago. Had to put on the old ones ooooohhh dear :-S :-S my sight had altered considerably. The optician put a new pad on again and all was well. Poor Phil, I had hoped he would reappear after his tangle with the roses. How is your back???
Hope the weather is holding for Frank and Ros. Sounds promising at this stage.
Frank would like to take to them myself, but this skinny old girl would be arrested while they laughed. I don't know what gets into them - the level and type of crime is horrendous these days. Alcohol and drugs must play a huge part and parents who don't care (not always), but lots of the time.
Jane I would have been screaming bloody murder if I'd been there, rotten thugs. Could have turned out worse, so I have to be thankful that "someone" was looking after them.
Joel is off to do the sound work for a band at Budgewoi Hotel tonight. This is his first gig (nervous mother), so I hope all that TAFE and training has paid off. Asked him to text me, well his father as I don't own a mobile phone. Never had the need for one.
Pat how are things at your place today?
Ann how is your back today? Yes it is low sugar that I have as well. The doctor recommended the Hypoglycemic Diet based on complex carbs and protein - no bananas, melon, dates, watch the potatoes (sweet potato ok) or any chocolate. That is a killer, but if I have a bit more energy I will be happy. Will have to fill up on nuts and seeds. I love the Currawongs, but our Magpies always chase them off, they do have a happy song. They can become pretty tame when they get to know you.
Things going well on e-Bay. I have found three very pretty tops in my wardrobe that still have the labels on and never been worn. They can go on too and a nest of tables - all good stuff and good way to make a little bit of cash too :-D :-D
Dying for a cuppa (coffee out too). Toorah for now. Have a wonderful day.

Afternoon everyone, Hope everyone with aches and pains are feeling better today .
Well this morning was really dreary and wet ,but its brightened up a bit now.
The bells have just started up so perhaps there's a wedding today ,or it might just a practise !!
We have decided to go out this evening ,just for a drink ,thought we might do a pub crawl !! lol have a drive round and see if we can find a nice country pub that we haven't been to before ,have a look at the menu's and see what's on offer some where different ,will be nice to just sit and have a Mardle !!!
Glad to hear you've signed the papers Liz, will be all go for you from now on , you must be relieved that its all sorted at last .
Not too good on the glasses front then Mel, can you see any thing with out them, if not you'll be in a right pickle !! Jake is always breaking those bits off his glasses , DIL takes them in and they put a new piece on while she waits .
Was thinking this morning about Scrap Books , did any one do scrap books , i use to fill mine up with all sorts ,bits out of magazines and photo's , i suppose they all got thrown out over the years, didn't they have black pages in them ?
Another thing was Diary's , any one do a Diary each day ??
time for a cuppa ,then i must sort out what to wear tonight , no doubt some thing will want ironing !!!

Afternoon All,
A few spots of rain this morning, but lots of sunshine now. Mel, it seems like we have all had those plastic bits come off our specs! I seem to remember you buy them in pairs (very cheap!) and the optician didn't charge for fitting, so I would take both pairs of specs and get them to put the other in the old ones, then you will have your spare pair again. I can just imagine those chicks and their mum's legging it 'home' away from the mower monster!! lol Let's hope the missing one turns up and that Phil just moved on to a new territory. The one consolation of having a good clean up Mel is that it doesn't need it again for a while!!
My back was pretty grim all yesterday, despite the tablets. OH was taking me to Wolverhampton today and I was going to look around Wightwick Manor (National Trust) while he watched a match half a mile away........but we changed plans as I would have struggled to stand up after sitting in the car an hour getting there and not have wanted to walk for long. It is a bit better today, but I'm best not sitting or standing too long!!I I am going to get some of those patches, Jane.......see if they will help as well. What a state we are all in!! How is everyone else?
Thanks for that about the tunnel trips, Frank. I think we might try one if we go that way on hols or a day trip. I hope it is fine for the festival today.......should attract a good crowd and plenty of ker-ching!!
Liz, you can go full steam ahead now you have certainty!! I think the dust will be flying at your place this weekend!!
Could you have diabetic chocolate Kim? I don't know what it tastes like but I would hate to give up all chocolate. I hope your new diet gives you some more energy.......I add a few nuts and seeds to meusli and like bread that has seeds in it.
I have been looking at the local nightschool catalogue and thought I may try some of the free 'taster' classes on offer if there are still places available. There are ones on painting and drawing, mosaics and bead jewellery making that I quite fancy.

Mandy, I think it is ME that needs ironing before I go out!! lol I have never heard the word 'mardle' before, so that is something else I have learnt!! It is nice to just go out like that sometimes and see where you end up isn't it. Mentioning weddings you just reminded me that as we drove past our village church this morning, over the stone archway where you walk in someone had fixed a beautiful pale pink garland of roses and greenery ready for a wedding. I thought how lovely it was and how nice it would smell as you walked under it.
I didn't do very well with diaries, not enough happy things to write about and upsetting to re-read so got chucked out. I loved making scrap books though and would cut out all sorts from magazines..........I remember lots of pictures of pets I would like!!! lol
Night, night Kim........hope you have a good rest.

Enjoy your evening out tonight Mandy. We are out on Thursday eve for a meal at the Pheasant(Frank knows it)
Hopefully Fiona all will be finished on Monday. You will be a happy bunny. Now you will be all ready for the winter.Hopefully that is a long way off yet !
Are you feeling all crumpled then Ann with that back of yours?I think it's worth trying those patches.Make sure you get the ones hat stick straight onto the skin. It's hedge cutting all around today .Both neighbours and Chris are busy at it.Chris is using his new one on a long pole. It has been a lovely day so good for the Blisworth Festival. But now there are some darkish clouds looming. I have dried off some of the tomatoes in the oven for 4 hours and they are now in olive oil in a jar.I wonder what they will be like???
Our little Church in the village often has a lovely garland above the gate when there is a wedding. It looks so pretty.Last week it was White Roses and Greenery.

I remember having a diary at Christmas time. One sticks in my mind.It was pink with a little brass lock. I did keep one for the year I worked in Greece.I loved looking back over it for some years after, but where it went I have no idea.It was full of interesting things of places I visited, things I got up to ,and about the children who I looked after. Also my thoughts of missing home when I was homesick which luckily wasn't too often. Must go James is going to add a pic of Hannahs car on Gumtree.I forgot to put one.

Still fighting my way through the bathroom. Decided to have everything out and put a lot of stuff away so it is easier to clean. Have scrubbed all the shower out which is a right job as we have sliding doors and it is fitted in the corner with a bow front. It is a job to get into the runners or under the glass doors so I use a paintbrush. I have done the glass twice with fairy liquid and one with ciff and now they look good untill OH showers tonight :-(
OH got the tree stump out of the ground but the digger won't shift it out of the huge hole he dug :-S
Leaving that till tomorrow now after cleaning the outside of the caravan and putting the water back on as he disconnected in the winter as we did'nt want another freezeup in there. I left the door open for a few days last week and a bird got in and it has messed all in the sink. At least that will be easy to clean off, better than on the carpet.
Frank must have been busy all day as we have'nt heard from him. I hope he enjoyed the festival and Ros too.
No optician near here open today so am waiting till I go to Bideford on Monday. I ccan wear my glasses but the metal bit digs in the side of my nose and I have to keep moving them when it hurts. Trouble with taking the one off the spare pair is that I can't even get that one back on so both pairs no bu**ered.
Mandy hope you have a nice meal and drinkies tonight.
We have gammon steaks tonight with egg and pineapple and cheese and onion crispbakes amd peas.

Mel, our shower is the same shape with sliding doors too.....a right pain to clean under the doors!! You have to be inside the shower with the doors shut to clean the bits near the walls, then outside the shower with the doors open to clean the rest and there is always a short bit each side you can't get to. I have used old toothbrushes and a cloth over the toothbrush handle to get to some bits.........I bet men designed them with no thought of cleaning them!!
Could you stick a bit of sticking plaster on the side of your nose so you can use your glasses around the house Mel? It might be more comfy for now.
I'm getting some patches tomorrow Jane, so will look out for those that stick straight on........I know exactly where to put it now!! lol What temperature did you dry the tomatoes at? I have never thought to do that, but it is a good idea and would use up some of the glut we now have.

Evening All.
Hubby had a word with the Head man that is handling our Claim... He is comming out abt 12 on monday morning..Alan will come out of work to be here.
Nearly all the bathroom is tiled..If they higher the bath by about an inch .it will look funny against the tiles.. They have offered to make a wood panel..But we had wood there before...2nd choice is the shorten the height of the panel...and fix it it with mirror screws.....but we bought the bathroom suit ourselves and are paying an arm and a leg to have it fitted...It would of been different if it was in the insurance quote... We are going to try and make a deal with them and see what they come up with..
One wall in the kitchen had to be stripped and now we are waiting for that to be painted and a door fitted,,,then that will be all the work done they have to do. there. Whoops the electrician has to change 2 sockets..
The bathroom ceiling and walls need to be painted..pipes to be boxed in yet.. woodwork needs to be done ..So that is 2 coats. Then electrician will be back to fit new light.......Im just hoping we get all this finished next week.
The following week I will be at my daughters for a few days.... we have been out buying today the impointent bits to finish both rooms off.. Plus some nice extras.. I will be back after casualty and also when I have washed up..Been busy today trying to get all the rooms straighter..

I am getting sooooo stressed with Hannahs car on eba*.Keep getting questions from people .I need James here to help me all the time ,and he is getting annoyed with me because I am unsure how to deal with it.I think I need a drinky poo now lol Ann Temp for the oven was the lowest .Mine is 80 in a fan oven.Cherry toms just cut in half ,bigger ones cut in quarters, flesh side up on a baking tray.Leaving the oven door open a bit cook for about 4 hours checking now and then that the toms don't get brown around the edges. Then put in a sterilised jar while still hot and cover with warm Olive Oil.
Please don't remind me about cleaning showers!!!! I nearly choked to death last time when I did ours.It needs a good scrubbing again.I can't stand the thought lol.The fumes of the cleaner just about finished me off
Fiona thanks for that I will be watching.I love that programme . I must dish up dinner .I am starving .

Alan Carr will be on one week of the new series of WDYTYA Jane.....I wonder what they will find on his family! Thanks for that on the toms.......I might try to do some tomorrow. I think I would find it hard to answer questions about someone else's car Jane.
That was sad about Fitz's friend dying. No wonder he was a bit down in the dumps.
Pat, the end is in sight at last, but how annoying about the bath.....hope they come up with some ideas you will be happy with.
Tablets and off to bed now.....nighty night everyone!
