Evening all,

Ros got up about 4.30pm had a shower and put clean nightie on, been laying on sofa since> Had a small piece of my home made cottage pie tonight with peas. Didn't eat it all but had a fiar bit.

Kim "SO SORRY" I just opened the Email and thought it was your house. Must say, in S.A. they need houses like that in some areas.

Thanks for the photo's of baby Harry, and the baby pidgeons, All look well feed and content :-D :-D :-D :-D

I did a bit of home made F & C last week, but madam hasn't fancied any since.

Have got a nice piece of leg of pork out for tomorrow, whether it gets cooked or not will be another story.

Thanks "JUGS" for your offer, I may well take you up on that. !!!!

Good night to you all, and thanks again for your kind thoughts.

Have big trouble with my cooker tonight .I can't turn one of the rings off.I have had to switch off at the mains.I can't be doing with another 'fire' like I had before.(my shopping bag).I bet I will have bad dreams tonight about it :-S :-S :-S Chris has just wandered off saying "will sort it in the morning" !!!!!!!.Not sure he will do anything .It will be left to muggins here lol.I get so freaked out with any electrical problems.I'll no doubt check I have switched off the mains to the cooker a dozen times before I go to bed :-S :-S

I hadn't had F&C all this year Jane, now twice in the last fortnight!!! Better not get in the habit. The shop floor didn't look as clean as the Polish chap used to keep it. :-S :-S He had all the kitchen on show behind the fryers so you could see the clean white tiles and floors. One wall at the front of the shop was covered with awards he'd won. He was there 33 years and I remember when he first came. I never saw them, but Gary Lineker and Bill Maynard went there according to the paper.

OH home now and didn't mention any smell!!!! lol I got away with it!!!

Good job you noticed the cooker ring Jane. I left the warming drawer on the other week. The silly thing has the red light showing it is on inside the drawer where you can't see it. I don't really know how long it was on. Sounds like MORE EXPENSE to me!!

Off to beddy byes now......night night xx

Morning All..
Had have younger son and family here for a few days ...so have been busy amusing 3 grandchildren..You dont realise how tiring it is...Didnt get a chance to sit down much..We all went to the park yesterday...so they let off more steam ..

Still hagling over bathroom etc...Alan rang the head man jesterday and was trying to keep his cool...I think he done very well...The man was talking to Alan as if he was stupid.....OT is in engineering so I think the other man got as good as he gave with his stupid questions.. and answers He said with an insurence claim everything is changed like to like...
Alan said this bath isnt part of the insurense claim..We bought the bath and are paying an arm and a leg for the work to be done properly by you.. Still waiting for our usualy man to come back he is off sick...and slightly lower in rank than this one..
Electricia n came friday to do the electrics and sockets.. Had to fit the light twice as his wiring didnt work..."2mins after he drove away I noticed he hadnt tucked all the cables in properly so I had to call him back...P off by that time.. as he had also picked up my repeat perscription some how.
with his rubbish...Found it in the rubbish outside front door lucky,,I then had to drop it in to the doctors just down the road...

Another man dropped the folding door in but have to wait for a fiier to do that..Also some paint we had asked to be mixed up as we have wood paneling running around the botton half of the walls..This isint in the ins quote dont ask me why..

Left a message for the head painter to call round when he could which he did late on fri night...I wanted his opinion on the wall that had been painted 3 times...It needs another coat so another can of paint is needed.

I will read though you posts later and catch up with you then..

Morning tired Pat!
It's a right farce you are having.I think if it was me I would by now look slightly Manic :-S :-S.
My cooker will have to stay off at the mains until I can get someone out,I will just turn it on when I need to .It's a dodgy knob which is the problem.Trouble is the big mains switch is at the back of a cupboard (floor level)in the corner, and its a right performance getting on my knees and stretching in each time.
I couldn't understand why it was so dark this morning when I woke at 6.Very strange it was.Chris got up at 7 and went down to make the tea. When he came up,he said it wasn't 7 oclock ,but 6!.Somehow our clock radio was an hour ahead. :-(

It looks like it is a nice day and another very warm one.I must pick more beans for dinner.Pork Fillet today.I can't decide whether to roast it or cut it into medallions and fry..Decisions Decisions

Maureen Harry looks very cuteI I like them when they are that small.

Thanks Frank and Kim for the Jokes...

Frank I hope Ross feels a little better today...When Im stressed it affects my stomach as well.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 14 Aug 2011 11:15

Morning all,

My back is bad again today so I think it must be because I did the watering in the tunnel by lugging the cans of water from the tank up to the tunnel. The tank is quite empty now and I have to go right into it to get the water in the bottom. I could fall in and OH would'nt even notice for a while until he was hungry!

Rained on and off yesterday and he could'nt do too much on the garage as he still has'nt got the tin for the roof. He has taken the roof off on the back now so has to cover everything up that is still in there like the electrics and tools on his big bench. At least my chickens food is in dustbins so thats safe from the rain.

Anne thanks for the email but being a ringer have already had that one many times.

We need more fish food so may go to the garden center today if my back holds out. It is on my right side today and I can't bend much. Had trouble getting the trousers on this morning.

SIL went off about 1.30 yesterday. They have gone on to Cornwall near St Ives, one of my favorite places when I was young.

Afternoon everyone,

Mel I sent that email, first time I had seen it and I thought of you. Don't put your back out again!!!

Have things calmed down a bit over there, didn't see the news tonight. Lots of arrests!!! Hope they give them heavy punishment.

Pat good thing you rescued your script!!! You must be ready to pull your hair out by now. That holiday won't come soon enough. Hope the paintwork looks good in the kitchen for you. Thought the jokes might cheer you a bit :-)

Jane what a pain with the cooker not working properly. And the alarm going off so early, at least you could enjoy your cuppa in bed. Love those young pigeons.

Have not had shop fish and chips for ages. They are soaked in oil over here. Keith always makes his own and they taste delish. Did love to have them when I was in the UK and all the pub meals were tops!!

Frank hoping that things are a little better at your place today. Thoughts are with you and Ros. If Keith is unwell I always get sick in the stomach and trot off to the little room (many times). My father was the same!!!

Raining here today, very heavy at times and much cooler. Pretty quiet day. Keith went off to buy party stuff for the 21st and I went through more photos. Lots of good ones there, poor boy. Garden is looking better for the rain and my little Princettia is actually getting some new leaves. Good decision to replant into the ground. I hope it thrives now.

Hope you are enjoying your day. Time for cuppa and some tv. 9.53 pm EST

Hi Everyone Just been Skyped by family and they are looking well. Lucy has grown enormously since we last saw her and we are looking forward to visiting after the bird fair next weekend.Tjhe weather is warm but overcast but we have only had one shower so far today.
After spending the last few days decorating we are taking things easy today and spent the morning checking moths after having the trap on last night. Again we were pleased with the number ( over 40) and species we found.
Mel Sorry to hear that your back is troubling you again and I hope it soon settles. As I cannot take many anti inflammatory tablets I use Volter*l which can work well. Do you take anything??
Jane Loved the photographs.Thanks

Frank I do so hope things begin to improve soon for you both. :-)

Afternoon everyone.(Evening Kim).
We had friends turn up at 12 and they have just gone.Elaine wanted a reference from Chris and they brought the lap top with the piccies from the cruise they have just been on for Tony's 50th.They went to the Arctic !! and Norway.I have been on a cruise to Norway but never the Arctic. It looked absolutely fantastic.Reindeer,Huskies ,glaciers.Elaine made friends with Husky and the photos of it snuggling up to her are just lovely. The owners have never seen that happen before(the dogs are not pets). So we have been sat out in the garden for 4 hours having a good old chinwag and a few drinkies and nibbles. Now I have to think about cooking :-( :-(.I think it is so warm today again and still muggy.

Just had an offer on the table and chairs .They would have collected today ,but offer was just a bit too low .We bought the set for Hannah when she moved into her house and it cost £850.I don't think £250 /300 is too much to ask really.

Anne that must be lovely to see the family on Skype Isn't technology wonderful.
Mel ,you have done too much!!!!!!Lugging watering cans all the way up to the tunnel.Maybe all the walking you have done too.

Pat you are getting there!!!!!!!!

The little pigeons are again sat on the branches squeaking away.It must be the time of day when they have their 'outing'.

No Sheila for a while :-S,and no Frank today.Hope all is well his end.

I'M HERE.

Not much to report. Ros had a shredded wheat this morning. NO DINNER. so I didn't cook. She has just had a few beans on toast with a bit of bacon. I will get myself something later.

I sat and read the paper, when I got up at 9.45am LAZY SOD I hear you say. !!!! I then cut the back lawn, and like MEL lugged watering cans full of water to feed the tomato plants Picked more beans and a few peppers, which I passed onto neighbours.

Pat I would be doing my nut by now, you have the patients of a saint, to put up with all this. I bet you will reccommend this lot to other people, I DON'T THINK.

Mel You must start taking care of your back, It seems that whatever you do these days, it goes to your back Please be careful.

Anne we SKYE Conrad most days, last weekend when Jan's G'Daughter was there they had the camera on, and she was doing all sorts of silly things. She's almost three. !!! Just that sort of age.

Jane I just just see you on your hands and knees, fumbling in the cupboard for the mains switch. Don't get stuck in there :-D :-D :-D :-D

Starting to feel a bit peckish, so will go and rummage around to see what I fancy.

See you later.

Annx Report 14 Aug 2011 18:59

Hi Everyone,

Pat, can nothing go right!! Well, yes, it seems the bits you do yourselves do but not the rest. :-S Fancy the chap nearly losing your prescription too.

Mel, it will be those cans of water you have been carrying after all the walking you have done. Don't fall in whatever you do......that would not help your back!! Mine just twinges on the right below the waist now, especially when I bend. I have had a look at the tooth that has been playing up.....not good. It is a looseish one and appears to have moved out of line with the rest!! Not sure whether to see if it settles down or have it looked at. It has been ok today.

Well, we had a lucky find today. We have been trying to buy a small piece of pond liner for the back of the waterfall, not with much success as the sort you buy off the roll is much too long and the packed up sizes are all pond sizes and too big. We called in an aquatic place along the A5 today and they sold us a lifetime quality offcut, 6ft x 3ft for £10!!

We called in to see MIL and FIL on the way back. We were talking about this and that, as you do and FIL said, 'of course at our ages time doesn't really matter'. I really had to avoid catching OH's eye or I'd have burst out laughing!!! Tick tocking away in the background in the room we were in were no less than 6 clocks, all synchronised at the exact right time!!! lol

Annx Report 14 Aug 2011 19:21

Frank, after all the 'trotting' yesterday, you needed a lie in.......will do you good! Glad Ros is managing a bit of food again. It is a shame she can't eat all that lovely produce you have grown, but it can't be helped at the moment. The neighbour will be grateful and enjoy it I'm sure.

The date is set the 23rd for my horsedrawn carriage ride with my schoolfriend. We are going to buy lunch for the lady in return for taking us out! I have been asked to bring photos of all the horsedrawn carriages we built or restored for her to see, so I better start digging deep in the boxes of photos. Just hope it is a dry day!!!

How's the weather in your neck of the woods now Shirl? Have you finished your garden yet?

Evening all

I was feeling rotten this morning so missed church again, The ladies on here who have had children will remember what it was like when they first fell pregnant with their kids. all that sick feeling and tiredness, well thats how I feel in the mornings, then between 1 & 2 pm I sort of come round, still find bending down awful.

Been a sunny day here but very windy which keeps it from being warm and it is chilly in the shade.

OH finished painting the kitchen , we are doing just the walls to clean it up, still cleaning the dust of every thing, had to take the kitchen roller blind down it was really dusty.

Sofia went home tonight with 2 skinned knees, her daddy had put a dress on her today and she came running down the path and fell flat scrapeing her knees, oh she did cry, I had to take her into the bathroom and gently put on some sav*on then put on a pair of Jeans, to cover her legs as every time she looked at her knees she would get upset :-) aw bless her, everyone in the family had to kiss her knees better :-D

Morning all,

Mandy sounds like you had a lovely day and night. I'm sure I have been to Wells before.

Jane doing so well with all this selling. Price sounds very reasonable to me. We sold a further 3 books which Keith has to post off to a lady in Queensland. Our nest of tables will be coming up soon and more books and clothes.

Pat you just need to enjoy your holiday and stuff the rest until you get back. Good for you ;-)

Hope Fiona, Anne and Mel have a better day along with Ros and anyone else feeling not too good.

Ann will be so enjoyable for you and your friend on the 23rd. Is that local or will you have to travel very far?

OH had to go to Martinsville this morning for an appointment near the Watagan Mountains. Also dropped the computer into Doug and visited a party supplies shop. Found a huge 21st key and lots of lovely decorations. Well done Keith!!! Now he has gone to Wamberal for another appointment.

Had an amazing surprise a hour ago when an email from the Brigidine College arrived. Information on teachers and photos, plus student list and teacher names. Brought so many memories flooding back. I have forwarded on to the other girls who will be attending the reunion. I hope they are as delighted as I am.

Weather here has been cool, but sunny. Can't ask for more. I sat outside and read the paper, cooked myself a small steak for breakfast which I enjoyed very much. The cats mooched around in anticipation, but were disappointed, aren't I mean ;-)

Off to do some emails and have a cuppa. Lovely day to all when you wake.

Bye for now, 3.09 pm EST
