Really cheesed off with this house business! Were supposed to have exchanged yesterday, BUT, you've got it, a last minute hitch! The buyer at the end of the three has remorgaged a property in Scotland and whe his Sol checked the paper work prior to exchange they discovered a mistake in the wording of his mortgage offer!!!!! SO, the document has had to go back to Scotland to be re-drafted, also the chaps wife has gone to Ireland for a week! so when we exchange is anybodies guess, if at all. To say that we're fed up is putting it mildly. No-one seems to know anything, everything takes for ever to do, it's just a complete nightmare, together with the fact that the chap we're buying from is making vague mutterings about sending the property we want to auction if we don't get a move on! Any suggestions?!!!!

Liz, Can't you get your solictor to contact his solicitor to explaim the situation. I am sure the old saying comes to mind " A bird in the hand etc. He will be cutting off his nose to threaten you with this, after you have gone this far. I really hope you get a happy outcome. My thoughts are with you.

Thanks Frank, the trouble is, is that our seller was well messed about with his last buyer, and was going to send the property to auction and only didn't do so out of courtesy to us as we wanted it so badly, so if this d--n performance goes on he will begin to have a re-think on the auction front. The worry is that there is more to this than meets the eye, and this could be a load of old cods-wallop while they try to raise extra money, who know?! this is the problem when you begin to not know what to believe! All we can do is cross everything! Keep you posted!

I feel for you LIz, it's an absolute nightmare, when there's a chain you just don't know who's holding up what. As Frank suggested it would be worth getting your solicitors to speak to the other solicitors or maybe you could speak directly to the seller of the house you are buying, if he knows you are genuine he may hold off, can't imagine he would want to start from the beginnning again with an auction. Chin up, I'm sure it will all work out in the end.
I do that Frank, with cold calls, once I realise it's not a proper call I put the phone on the side and I guess they are going through all their speal before they realise there's no one listening.
I thought your OH's tooth hurty two Ann was hilarious but can see how you wouldn't have found it funny at the time. Hope the antibiotics are working.
You must both be feeling so relieved Frank that the MRI results were all fine, let's hope something can be done for Ros's pain now. Fingers crossed all is well with Fiona too.
It's absolutely pouring down with rain at the moment, was going to do some painting but have left it a bit late now, probably just stay on the computer until dinner time.

Afternoon All,
Rainy here too and I have to go out soon to pick carrots!!
EXCELLENT news Frank. I bet Ros's tum may well settle down a bit now she isn't so worried. I bet you feel a lot better now you have those results too.
Liz, it is awful to have your future in the balance like this. I hope they are telling the truth and that they make it a priority to get it sorted and the correct docs back to your solicitor. I hope it is being made clear that there is a risk of it falling through for everyone if they don't get their skates on.
I had someone foreign ring yesterday and despite him repeating who he was and what it was about I still couldn't understand. He was suggesting I was due a refund (miss selling? maybe) and wanted my address. (I suppose a request for my bank account details would follow!!!) Anyway, I told him he needed to put something like this in writing and to get my address from where he got my name!!!!
Mel, I used to love the Victoria plums from mum and dad's tree. I remember having to put props under the branches when they were laden with fruit. The wasps made it a nightmare to pick them though. I hate wasps!!!! I saw some lovely black cherries for sale at the farm shop yesterday, but there must have been a dozen wasps crawling on them....put me off.
The toothache is a lot better, so I'm hoping the dentist was right. My back seems a bit better again today as well, so things are looking up!! :-D :-D
I hope Fiona gets on ok with the consultant today. Good idea to note down what to ask. I do that sometimes when I go to the doctors as it is so annoying wishing you'd asked something after you have got home.
Hope your cooker is a simple repair Jane and cooking is back to normal later!! :-D :-D You are lucky having those Green Woodpeckers come in your garden. I have only ever seen one once around here and that was a long time ago.
Kim, I love all these different coloured slips. What do you have to have to put a car on the road in Aus? I bet Joel's room looks great now.......a new carpet makes such a difference.
Well, I'd better get these carrots........the rain seems to have eased.

Meant to say Ann .... no ..... I can't play the banjo, don't think my uncle could either, don't know why he bought it. My dad was musical and I had piano lessons as a little girl but gave it up as soon as I could, it's one of those things that you regret when you're older as I can't read music at all now.
I poked my head up in the loft and quickly retreated there's so much up there until I sort it all out I'll never find the banjo.
The only thing edible in my garden are the apples. We have a pear one side and an apple the other so I joined them up to make an arch, never really bothered about the fruit but this year there are masses of apples and they taste quite nice. Trouble is I have to cut them open to make sure there's nothing lurking inside. I said to my daughter there's nothing worse than biting into an apple and seeing a maggot, oh yes there is she said, biting into an apple and seeing half a maggot.....lol

Hi Everyone. Firstly good new for Ros Frank. hope she got on well today. Thanks everybody for your Best wishes
We Saw the consultant at the Hospital. a really nice young man. good to talk to someone who know whats what. I told him all the problems ive been having and he examined my tum and I told him where it was tender, He certainly thinks it to do with the extra stomach acid ,due to a weakened by age stomach valve but of course cannot be absolutly sure, till he has done some tests, So after seeing him I had several blood tests taken and then went to make an appointment for an Ultrascan and an Endiscope,( ANN ,I will behaving a local anesthetic YES :-D) They will both be done next Thursday the 25th August which is great news no hanging around. I feel a lot more comfortable now knowing something is going to be done.

Still raining here, and very dark overhead.
Ros got back about 3.30pm a smile on her face, the first one for a week or so. They stopped at BECKWORTH Nursery, for lunch. She had a Brixworth Pate (Local to Northants) with toast and salad. Hope she will eat a bit of something later.
Thanks for all you love and best wishes, will pass them on.
Mandy, I can't wait to be able to cook a nice roast dinner !!!! Tonight I will have Spag Bol. and Ros (if she wants it) a ready meal of beef in wine sauce, I have done a couple of potatos and a few runner beans, will have to see if she wants it.

Heavens Liz.It seems like you are being given a bit of a ride. All this 'paperwork' should have been sorted ages ago,and why has the wife decided to go away when I imagine she would need to sign things(unless her name is not joint).
Brixworth Pate eh Frank.I do like it ,but find it quite garlicky and finds itlurks on my breath for days :-S.I bet Ros really enjoyed that ,and a wander around Beckworth.
Good to hear your tooth has settled down a bit Ann and is not so painful today.
Fiona, sounds like you are getting somewhere now.Not long to wait for you investigations.
Maureen we have 4 pears. They are looking ok at the moment,so fingers crossed we will be able to eat them when they are big enough.Apples on one of our trees look infested :-( Won't be touching those.
My cooker is fixed .All that was needed was a new switch inside to the ring. I was mortified when he pulled the cooker out !!!!!!!!!.I can't begin to tell you how much filth was under there. :-0 :-0 :-0.I could have stuffed a cushion with all the fluff(probably mostly dog hair).
The rain that has been here all day has finally gone .I still don't think we had an awful lot.But I'm sure it has helped the garden a bit.Looks like a nice day tomorrow.
Have I missed anyone? Sorry if I have .It is getting difficult to keep up some days lol The days seem to be getting shorter now.Lights are going on much earlier. I have booked the Sweep for the end of the month and have booked Fitz in too .We always have ours done at the same time by the same sweep.
That Woodpecker was back on that tree early this morning .It was so funny watching as there were bits of bark flying everywhere lol
Mandy ,how many Lilliput Cottages have you got now?

Watch it Mandy, you have my mouth watering now. You could have least invited me along. They are good value, are local carvery is about £8.00 a head, but sounds very much like yours. I don't know what the price is during the week. That is Sunday's price.
What's all this about Telephone Numbers, you are not on these chat lines are you girls ??? :-D :-D :-D :-D
We had a great laugh a few years ago, one of our friends who was DIVORCED and looking for female company. It was coming upto Valentines day, so we sent him a card with the Telephone No. of a town Pub where the ladies of the night hang out. The message was "Give me a ring and get a surprise" He couildn't resist, and we played ignorant. It took him weeks to find out. We also did another thing to another friend. We were at a dinner party with ten of us. This friend had had a pond put in his garden, and Ros and I had creept into the garden a put a DECOY duck on the pond. This particular night, I got Harvey who was still at home, to go into his garden and build a nest and put 1/2 dozen eggs in it. He also wired a notice to his gate "DUCK EGGS FOR SALE" In the club the following week he was relating the story to other friends. One asked how much was he charging for his eggs. 7/6d a dozen one said. YOU BARST### I've caught you. He didn't believe it was me as I was in his company all that evening. It took about a month before I went up to him and said "QUACK QUACK" His mother even said "you aught to sell up and move" people don't like you. We still laught about it now.
