Pretended it was crab!!!!!!!!!!!! that made me laugh as I hate crab but love Tuna.

Sorry about the mix up on the jointace gel. I thought as Anng had mentioned about it our other Annx would realise. Sometimes I do it and sometimes I don't but willtry to remember in future.

Its a beautiful sunny day and warm when you're in the sun but theres also a good breeze. washing went out this morning and its ready to come in now. I was going to change the bed but did'nt get round to it.

Shopping came no subs but there was'nt a lot tis week.

I am now going to hoover before venturing into the hot garden. O I have done a little pruning this morning and washed all the washing line before putting the washing out. :-D

Temp has just gone down to 22, it was 23 when I was out there just now. I have planted out in pots and planters etc all my tomatoes. Hopefully some of them at least will survive until I get back, not that I am going just now :-D but I like to be prepared and it is easier to water them outside. I was only out there 30 minutes, it is sunny with clouds and a breeze but it was too hot to stay out long.

It was lovely walking out, I don't think it's quite as hot as yesterday, there's a nice breeze, we got our tablets and I needed some new cord to go in Colins jogging bottoms , not that he goes jogging lol I also got two balls of wool to go in my wool bag ,pretty pink and a nice lemon ,then we got into the market well if you can call it a market ,two stalls this week plant man and fruit and veg stall ,no fish man so no crab and we were really looking forward to a nice crab lunch so I opened a tin of tuna we closed our eyes and pretended it was crab lol

The garage man has popped out now and should be back soon. I hope so as OH will be going at at 4.00pm, so we have to collect the car before then if it's ready or leave it till tomorrow which will cause problems. OH just had one email saying his car insurance is due renewal next month and a bit later another email saying for business reasons they will not offer to renew as he doesn't meet their business criteria! At first he thought it must be due to his cardiac arrest which he notified them about and they said was no issue, but it seems that since the pandemic insurers are getting more picky and the age of your car (spare part availability?), whether it's 'high end' and more stealable, crime in your area, your age and other reasons can make them refuse to offer renewal.

We had some pretty Goldfinches in the garden at lunchtime. I must put some Niger seed out if they are going to be around now. We also have more cows in the field, another 4 that are just plain brown plus one that is mostly white, so that makes ten of them now and OH is certainly not going in the field and we haven't seen anyone else in there since either.

Ann it was me who Mel was talking too I use jointace gel on my legs if they ache. when my legs were bad last May/June Jointace was great at reducing the pain at night. Besides the aromatherapy oils it also contains glucosamine and chondroitin.
I get confuse too Mel when you just put 'Ann'.

Hope your car is ready Ann as it looks like you have a problem if it is not.

I have an optician's appointment tomorrow morning, never eally look forward to those.
that looks like one of those minor injuries that is going to be aggravatingly hard to heal.

I am envious of Mandy's crab as well.

Yes annoying about the M&S and Co-op. I think it was their online customers that are mainly affected with M&S but not sure. I do know they have my details with my credit card etc but they have not said their bank was affected. But who knows, they originally said customers' details were not affected but now they are saying they are.

Morning All,

I slept well for a change and it is lovely and sunny here with a cool breeze. I went in the garden and weeded a bit more and saw the Magpies on deliveroo duty feeding the chicks., then enjoyed a nice cool shower after. OH's hand wound bled a bit after I took the big plaster off as he managed to scrape his PJ sleeve across it! It's a flap of skin he managed to slice. So I had to help him shower and wash his hair and it's a good job we got more plasters yesterday. I'm beginning to think a puppy might be easier to look after! :-D

I don't think I've had jumpy legs at night for years which is a bit surprising as an underactive thyroid can be one cause of it. Maybe having to give up stimulants like most caffeine and also alcohol helped me. It's not a pleasant thing when you are trying to sleep though.

I'm hoping the garage gets the part for my car today and that I get it back later as tomorrow is my hair appointment and OH has a morning meeting, a zoom meeting and telephone appointment with the hospital dentist tomorrow and may not be able to take me or fetch me back. If you cancel a hair appointment sooner than within 48 hours now they charge you a late cancellation fee and I don't want to have to pay that. My hairdresser lives in the nearby village where I lived as a teenager and there's a murder investigation going on there now as a woman was found injured in the road on Sunday morning and has since died. A 39 year old man has been arrested. It was a tiny village with just three roads when I lived there but is much bigger now and more new houses are being built.

Mel I don't take jointace! I don't know always which Ann you mean in your posts. I take glucosamine and chondroitin tablets intead and use Ibuprofen gel. Have you tried vinegar to kill Ivy? I'm going to try it as some is coming through our fence again.

Mandy these roadworks are everywhere now. Just be careful walking to town. I hope you find a nice plant for your table. Our Frank would be envying your crab if you get one wouldn't he? I wonder how he is now.

Talking of card details in just one place AnnG, OH tells me that M&S have said they have had a security breach now and that it includes online shoppers, so that's M&S, and the Co-op as well as Talktalk that haven't kept my data secure enough! This is happening too often now. I'm glad I don't do online banking though, despite the heavy persuasion.

AnninGlos Report 13 May 2025 09:53

thanks Mel, yes it is but I have bought it at £11. now. I prefer to get most things via A,azon as that means my card details are only with one place and it is easy to order things as they have all the details. But I will remember that in future.

Ann is it the Jointace Gel you have? If you go to Vitabiotics its on there for £9.35 or three for two. I always get my jointace cpasuels from Vitabiotics and theres no postage.

Its 16 degrees here and pc is tellig me tomorrow high maybe a record. If it is then I am staying in my nice cool house. there are a few wispy clouds in the sky this morning. We had a lovely pink sky last night so I thought it may be a nice day today.

Mandy don't fall down that hole again we can't have you out of actio0n again. Hope you get the little plants for the table.

Morning all,

Little bit of cloud in the sky this morning but lots of blue sky and sunshine .

Oh dear Vera I can sympathise as I have had jumpy legs too the last couple of nights and have had to walk round for a while ,I hope your dentist visit goes well and you don't need any treatment, have a nice rest after you get home it will be to hot to do much outside today.

Ann I see you've been stocking up with ths plasters :-D hopefully now you have them you won't need them ,I use to have to buy them when the grandchildren were little and came here as you could bet ons of them would fall over ,dil would say see nanny she has a plaster .

We're off into town this morning ,walking as they have traffic lights up , they have two holes they have dug in town one in the bus stop and I had to smile whe Colin said oh they are filling the pot hole in where you fell and broke your wrists ,I said no they are making it bigger .
Were hoping the fish man will be on the market so we can get a crab for lunch we need to go to boots for our tablets and I'm hoping the plant man will be on the market as I need a little plant to put on the outside table .

Enjoy the sun everyone and don't forget to drink extra water to keep hydrated.

Good morning all 12 degrees and sunny and the third day running I have had a problem getting onto Genes before 0730. Oh dear Vera it is awful when you can't get to sleep If I have a problem with my legs I usually massage them with Jointace but have had a problem getting a replacement tube. When I found it on Amazon it had gone up from £8 to £11. I have waited a couple of days to see if there is a cheaper one. Jointace consists of aromatherapy oils plus Glucosomine and does seem to help my achy legs.

Hope the dental visit passes without problems.

Another day without any plans but no doubt I will find something. I do have a letter to post so will have to walk to the post box.

Good morning

It was a hot night and is clearly going to be another hot day. It’s already 11 degrees and bright sunshine. I’m not a happy bunny today as I had an even worse night than usual, only sleeping for less than 2 hours. The muscles in my legs would not stop jumping so 4 times I got up and walked round and round the house. Now my legs feel as though I’ve been on a route march and ache like mad. I shouldn’t be inflicting my miserable mood on you but I am not sure I have anything cheerful to write about as next thing is a trip to the dentist. It’s only our normal 6 months check up so nothing to worry about. If anything needs doing we’ll be given another appointment.

I hope you have all had a good night. Might bbl.

Evening All.

We had quite a heavy shower in the early hours, not sure it was forecast, but welcome anyway and all bone dry outside by the time we got up. OH managed to keep the dressing on all night Mandy so no extra washing thank goodness! We dropped my car at the garage in the village to have the non working window fixed and then filled OH's car up before going into the store(Sainsbury's). We got another roll of sticking plaster AnnG :-D, also some smaller plasters and dressings as well as eyedrops for me. We got the extra spare keys cut at Timsons in there. Then to collect our meds from the pharmacy (I have to go back for one of mine) then to the Co-op which is looking very sad with all the empty shelves. We remembered to go home a different way through the village where I used to live as they have the road up the usual way and traffic lights with huge queues.

The garage rang later, very apologetic to say they couldn't source the part for my car window other than a dealer part and the cost would be.......shock horror £536 to include labour!! Still so be it and it needs doing so the car should be ready tomorrow. I need it for Wednesday for my hair appointment as OH is out in his car then. This is what comes of having electric windows and other electric gadgetry. At least mechanical windows wind down if you can't open a door.

Openreach were at the end of our bit of the close today and also further up the main close, digging up the road and have put a big metal lid over something near us. I thought we might be losing our internet but no all is well.

AnnG it's surprising how the temperature can be so chilly in some parts of the house and I have been keeping a cardi or fleece handytoo.

Mel you've been busy tidying up with your strimmer. Whatever did we do before strimmers were invented, Was it hedge clippers. I used to hate doing the edges of mum and dad's big lawns with clippers as a teenager. Also helping dad with the hedges with handheld hedge clippers, no electric ones then. We just had a push mower then at first as well.

Good luck with the dentist tomorrow Vera. I hope all your plants are safely planted in the right positions now.

Mandy it sounds like you will have tomato surprises this year! The ones from Mel's seed may vary and not all breed true, as it depends where the insects have brought the pollen from to pollinate them. I expect they will all be tasty and nice though You've been busy outside getting jobs done and it's a good idea to have the box handy to get the chair cushions out when you need them.

Well according to the BBC it was going to rain here at 2pm. It has not rained yet.

Afternoon all,

Boy its hot out there ,we got out nice and early and filled some pots for the tom plants, planted quite a few and mixed them up I have no idea now which are Mels ,oh well we'll see when the tomatoes start forming .
I'm getting short on big pots so had to use two hanging baskets for the tumbling toms and I've hung them on Colins ladder on the fence ,I still have a few more to plant but ran out of compost so thats a trip to Roys again .
Keeping in now as it's really hot ,doesn't look like the rain is going to reach us looking at the weather map.

It is 21 here and feels very warm in the sun. I did a quick half hour weed having covered my face in suncream but came in when it felt too hot. garden bin gets empties tomorrow so goes out this evening. The rain over night seems to have done a bit of good as the weeds seemed to come up more easily.

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 12 May 2025 13:05

Wall to wall sunshine, not a cloud anywhere and currently 23 degrees, feeling like 24. It is hot. Washing is drying almost as soon as it is hung out. If any of you ladies get rain please send some this way. We are desperate and I dread to think how the water bill is mounting up with all the watering we are doing.

It’s too hot to do any gardening but I’ve done all the washing and a few other indoor jobs as I won’t get much done in the next couple of days. We both have the dentist tomorrow morning and that’s in another town so more driving and Wednesday OH has his post op check up so we might combine that with a visit to Dunelm and Dobbies.

OH has just yelled out that lunch is ready so I’d better go.
