I a trying to find info on my great aunt. She is recorded on the 1891 census as Jane Taylor, a widow and living in the household of her sister and her age is 39.(1852) |

If I could prove that William Taylor, who was a blacksmith, died prior to 1891, this would give more weight to this Jane being mine. |

There is a Jane Taylor the wife of William Taylor (a grocer and Blacksmith) living a 2 Lorne St, Wigan in the 1891 census. Her age is given as 33 born c1858. They have one daughter Alice c1883. |

Just come back on here. So, given Mick's find it does look as though the Jane who married the Blacksmith was not the one born in Kirkby in 1854. |

I am not sure at the moment why you think the Jane Taylor living with her sister in law in the 1891 census may be your Jane Mawdsley other that she fits the criteria for first name, birthplace and year. |
