I was hoping that someone might be able to tell me what is going on.

I am trying to trace back through my tree. I have an ancestor (b1870) in the 1911 census, with his family. He's also there on the 1901. Him, his wife and his eldest child. Then suddenly he's gone. No mention of him in ANY of the earlier census's.

Any ideas why he doesn't make an appearance until he's 31 years of age?

That is very kind.

Well His name is Christopher Andrews born on, or very close to 1870. The 1911 census says he was born in Merysingth, S Wales? I have Googled this place but nothing comes up. In 1911 he is living in Balsall Heath Bham. His wife is called Florence (b 1872 in Dorset), and they have (according to the 1911 census) children called Florence, Mabel, Christopher, Herbert, Winifred.

In the 1901 census he's also at Balsall Heath (though a different address), with his wife, Florence, and their eldest daughter Florence. Now It says his birth place is Aberystuiyth, Wales. I think this is a mis-spelling (should be Aberystwyth.

Try as I might I cannot find any mention of him in any earlier census's.

Any help would be very much appreciated

Mainly because of the birth place (N Wales). Because in the 1911 census it stated that he was born in South Wales? That's whay is confusing me a little. What do you think? Also I don't understand where the Pee came from!!!

Warren, the above Christopher moved away from Wales as a small child so there might be some confusion with his birthplace for that reason.
I suggest you get his marriage cert to check his father's name.
Mr. Pee married the Amy Andrews above, Christopher's sister!

Ahhh I see. I will get his cert yes. And thank you again. Between asking about Mr Pee and your quick reply, I realized that he must have married Amy Andrews when she was 16 and he was 24. Perhaps he had to marry her (is you know what I mean)! Both were living at her parents home.

btw. I have 2 GR accounts. One for my adopted family (I am a platinum member) and the other for my bio family (Andrews). Do you think it may be possible to swap the platinum status over to my bio family account? This would be great if possible as I could then share trees and get hot matches! Have you heard of this happening before,? I cant really afford 2 paid accounts :-(

Andrew, my own advice (others might disagree) is to have just one paid account. You can have more than one free account also for other family trees. I would let one of them lapse.

Why have you got the platinum account, can I ask? The general consensus among members on here is that it works best to have the basic account and then subscribe to Ancestry or FMP for census reports, later BMD's etc. Not sure what the Platinum account has to offer.
