You are going to need the cert- the name Claxton isnt that common, but there are 2/3 families that she could belong to in the area. |

Generally the IGI only has records up to the 1880s/90s. |

You could check the Claxton families in Birmingham on the 1911 census to see if any of them had a child that died. |

Official adoptions did not begin until 1927 ....... but adoptions have always happened, and you will find children shown as adotped even in the 1851 Census |
